Abstract

This study encourages the disclosure of cultural values contained in the book al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik which is used in learning maharah kalam at the middle school level. Teaching cultural-based maharah kalam is important in learning Arabic. Cultural values contained in textbooks must be adapted to the way they are taught to students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method at Dar el-Iman Junior High School, Padang, Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using in-depth observations, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique was based on Miles and Huberman's theory which encompassed data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The data obtained were validated with data triangulation techniques and data sources. This study showed that the cultural values adopted from the book al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik in Junior High School of Dar el-Iman are associated with what students have done every day, such as saying greetings when they first meet, not shaking hands between men and women, getting used to good pronunciation of sentences, and etc. It is necessary to test the effectiveness of the use of al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik textbook in improving students' maharah kalam, to become a reference for teachers in choosing the right maharah kalam textbook.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation, supporting, and inhibiting factors for the MBKM program in the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Jambi University. The Ministry of Education and Culture has initiated a new university program, namely Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) to prepare superior and competitive human resources in the 4.0 revolution era. The research method employs field research, which includes qualitative research. Research data collected from primary data and secondary data sources and the data collection techniques using documentation, observation and interviews. This research uses the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions to analyze the data. The finding shows that: 1) the implementation of MBKM at the Jambi university is still not going well because it still finds confusion in the process, so it is necessary needs adaptations related to the curriculum and facilities, 2) the supporting factors are the willingness and enthusiasm of the educators and students as seen from their cohesiveness in preparing for the establishment of MBKM, while 3) the inhibiting factor is the need to get a lot of MoU from various institutions. In addition, there are other challenges, namely the readiness and skills of students to teach and guide in schools. This means that students must be part of strengthening learning and numeracy.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze Arabic language learning strategies based on curriculum integration from the perspective of Bloom's Taxonomy at Diniyah Puteri Islamic Boarding School. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used in this study. Data collection techniques included interviews with Arabic teachers, the headmaster, and the head of the Diniyyah Arabic Center (DAC). Other data collection techniques subsumed observation of learning activities and documentation from curriculum and lesson plans. The authors used Miles and Hubberman’s analysis theory to analyze the data. The substantive findings of this study showed that Arabic learning strategies based on integration of the Ministry of Religion's curriculum and the Diniyyah Arabic Center (DAC) from the perspective of Bloom's Taxonomy fell into the following: (a) the stages of remembering consisted of remembering pearls in the language environment, memorizing daily vocabulary, and memorizing conversations; (b) the stages of understanding consisted of listening to Arabic announcement strategies and using reading and translating methods; (c) the implementation stage consisted of Nasyaat Al-Akbaar, comparative studies, direct strategies, listening and speaking strategies; and (d) the creating stage consisted of Arabic camps, composing songs, and weekly speeches. The findings of this study infer that curriculum integration provides opportunities for students to improve Arabic language skills with varied strategies.

Abstract

This study addressed to explore classroom management and Arabic Learning process based on Multiple intelligences theory implemented by the teacher. The study was a case study with descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected by interview, documentation, and observation. Then, the data were analyzed with the following steps: data collection, data reduction, data display, verification, and affirmation conclusions. The result of this study revealed that the students were classified based on their intelligences with interview and appropriate test of multiple intelligences done by MIR team. Therefore, Arabic teacher implemented a suitable method in the Arabic learning process for each class based on their needs. Yet, the teacher faced an obstacle when teaching the students with logical-mathematical and interpersonal intelligences. Another data indicated that classroom was not only the class for learning, sometimes the teacher challenged the students to study outdoor, school environment. The school environment and facilities contributed to support learning process and give the students more space to be creative and aware with what they found in the school environment.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the learning theory framework on learning Arabic speaking skills and explore the supporting factors of successful speaking skills instruction at the Ar-Raayah College of Arabic Language (STIBA) Sukabumi. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study research method. The data were collected by interviews and documentation. Data analysis included data collection, data classification, display data, and conclusion based on Milles and Huberman's theory. The results showed that the implementation of the learning theory in speaking skills instruction was found in a) learning speaking skills based on the theory of behaviorism by establishing a learning environment, memorizing vocabulary method, Arabic language competitions, and the application of conversations in daily activities; b) learning based on cognitive theory which is done by discussion and qawaid and tarjamah method, c) learning speaking skills based on the constructivism theory which implemented cooperative learning, contextual learning, language games, and song methods. The study also revealed that factors that support the successful learning of Arabic speaking skills are internal and external factors, such as self-motivation, language environment, teachers and native speakers, and adequate learning facilities.

Abstract

The book “I Love Arabic” is a learning resource used in Arabic lessons for Class IV Dâr El-Iman Islamic Elementary School in Padang. This book is based on a bilingual system, namely by presenting Arabic and English study materials. This bilingual Arabic book is still a new category, so the content and presentation of the material need to be analyzed for its feasibility and suitability aspects with the character of bilingual books and the demands of the applicable curriculum. This study aims to analyze the bilingual book from the perspective of the feasibility of its content and presentation. This library research used a qualitative approach with secondary data. The main reference used the Bilingual Book “I Love Arabic & English” Class IV Dâr El-Iman Padang textbooks and other relevant additional references. Data was collected through recording documentation in observation and content analysis. The data analysis technique used follows Miles and Huberman. The results identified: First, the content qualifications of the bilingual book “I Love Arabic & English” Class IV published by Dâr el-Iman are in the very proper category with a score of 75%. Second, the presentation of the material is in a feasible category with a percentage score of 65%. This book still needs to be refined to suit the character of a bilingual-based textbook.

Abstract

Kreativitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran masih perlu ditingkatkan. Pendidik perlu berpikir tentang model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Pembelajaran Coin (Cooperative Independent) menjadi salah satu pilihan pendidik dalam rangka memacu kreativitasi dan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pembelajaran bahasa dalam rangka menyiapkan sumber daya manusia yang andal di era revolusi industri. Produk yang dihasilkan menuntut siswa untuk mencapai kompetensi yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran bahasa Arab di UIN Malang yang mengadopsi pembelajaran berbasis COIN. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa; 1) pembelajaran COIN learning dapat dilakukan dengan mengintegrasikan empat keterampilan bahasa dengan materi belajar yang bersifat kontekstual serta penggunaan media pembelajaran yang inovatif, 2) pemerolehan bahasa Arab didapatkan siswa melalui informasi yang diberikan dari instruktur, teman sebaya dan informasi melalui teknologi, baik dengan teknik peer correction dan teknik stimulus respon. Temuan penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran bahasa Arab di UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang menggunakan COIN Learning dapat menghasilkan siswa yang memiliki daya kritis dan kreatif sebagai penopang kesiapan sumber daya manusia yang andal di era revolusi industri.

Abstract

Ketapang is a village in Limau sub-district, Tanggamus district, Lampung province, Indonesia, inhabited by Sundanese speakers. This condition contributes to the variation of Arabic pronunciation, causing irregularities or difficulties known as disturbances. Linguistic phenomenon as a form of language development, something important happens in Arabic. This research was to study phonological interference forms in Sundanese. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection methods through interviews, observations and hearing that comes to the speech of the Ketapang community. The results showed several changes in the phonological change phenomenon, namely phoneme changes and word changes. This study contributes to the knowledge of language development that occurs from phonological disorders in Sundanese to Arabic, thus providing a great deal of knowledge about Arabic linguistic studies.

Abstract

Among the negative impacts of Mobile Legends are dependence, loss of productivity, and health degradation. This research explored the other side of Mobile Legends, focusing on their positive impacts on learning. This study aims to explore the benefits of Mobile Legends digital games in Arabic language skills and analyze the use of Arabic in Mobile Legends games. The approach in this study is qualitative descriptive. The research sample was Arabic Language Education students of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The results showed: 1) the game used Arabic and players could improve listening to the Arabic vocabulary used in the game; 2) this game used Arabic in communication interactions between teams and opponents so that communication between players using Arabic-supported speaking skills; 3) this game helped users understand words and phrases used in the context of specific situations and team interactions; 4) besides the language aspect, the cultural aspect also influenced this game, Khaleed's character is identified as Khaleed bin Walid the valiant hero of Islam from Arabia. This research outlines that the Mobile Legends application can improve students' Arabic skills, especially listening, speaking, and reading.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the assessment of Arabic language skills and linguistic elements in the book published by the Minister of Religion in 2020 for mapping assessments based on HOTS, MOTS, or LOTS. The research method used is descriptive qualitative based on content analysis techniques on assessment items listed in class X Madrasah Aliyah textbooks. Data was obtained through written sources, namely textbooks, as many as 392 assessment items, and other secondary sources, such as papers, articles, and books. The results of this study show that the percentage of assessments in the class X Arabic textbooks issued by the Decree of the Minister of Religion (KMA) of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020 leads to the following competencies: as much as 35% of the assessment items fall into the C2 category (understanding); 54% in category C3 (apply); and 9% fall into category C4 (analyze). The research findings identify that the form of assessment in the Arabic language textbook for class X KMA 2020 leads to the middle-order thinking skills level (MOTS), which is more dominant at the C3 (applying) level. The researchers recommend further research to develop Arabic teaching materials that lead to higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) through Bloom's Taxonomy framework.
