Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of job stress, namely workload and work conflict, among 179 education personnel in private elementary schools in Bogor City, Indonesia, using the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model. Employing a quantitative explanatory causal method with a cross-sectional survey design and a multistage random sampling technique, this research investigates the influence of these job demands on perceived stress levels. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to the selected sample of education personnel. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis revealed that both workload and work conflict simultaneously and partially exert a statistically significant positive effect on job stress. Specifically, higher levels of workload and increased experiences of work conflict were associated with greater reported job stress among the respondents. These findings underscore the critical role of these job demands as key determinants of stress within this specific occupational group. Consequently, the study highlights the importance for school management to address and mitigate excessive workload and sources of work conflict to reduce job stress among their educational personnel. By identifying these primary determinants, this research contributes valuable insights for developing targeted interventions aimed at fostering a healthier and more supportive work environment within private elementary schools.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to examine the direct effect of strengthening interpersonal communication and organizational climate on employee performance and to examine the intervening effect of work motivation on employee performance. The study population consisted of all ASN organizations with a Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) BB value of 309 people. The population size was determined using the Slovin formula to obtain 173 research samples. The data were tested using path analysis. The results showed that interpersonal communication and organizational climate both directly and indirectly affect employee performance. Thus, the results of this study indicate that interventions on interpersonal communication and organizational climate have a dual effect, namely a direct impact on performance as well as an intervening effect through increased work motivation. The implementation recommendations include three main aspects, namely through competency development, monitoring the organizational environment, and performance-based motivation mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the synergy between competence and leadership in improving employee commitment, motivation, and performance for organizational development. The methodology used in this study is meta-analysis with a focus on quality data from international journals indexed by Scopus. The tools used include VOSviewer software for article review and WordStat for descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study show that competence and leadership have an important role in improving employee commitment, motivation, and performance. This study reveals that improvements in both variables can overcome various obstacles in organizational development. Effective leadership and strong competencies are able to increase employee commitment, develop creative abilities, provide leadership training, and motivate employees through the right organizational strategy. This research has several important implications. First, organizations that want to improve employee performance must focus on strengthening leadership and developing competencies. Good management of intervening variables will help in designing more effective strategies, which in turn will improve the overall performance of the organization. Second, the results of the study show that organizations not only need to rely on leadership and competence alone, but also must consider the context and conditions of other variables that can affect the final result. A more comprehensive and holistic approach is needed to face the challenges and dynamic changes in organizational development. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that organizations implement training and development programs that focus on improving competence and leadership.
