Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berjudul “Budidaya Belut di Lahan Minimalis dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Mutu Gizi Keluarga di Kelurahan Beringin Raya Kecamatan Muara Bangkahulu Kota Bengkulu.” Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Kebutuhan akan gizi keluarga, khususnya protein hewani, semakin meningkat seiring dengan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pola makan sehat dan seimbang. Namun, tidak jarang pemenuhan gizi tersebut terkendala oleh keterbatasan ekonomi maupun akses terhadap bahan pangan bergizi. Selain itu keterbatasan lahan pekarangan di kawasan perkotaan serta kebutuhan masyarakat akan sumber pangan bergizi dan bernilai ekonomis. Belut (Monopterus albus) merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan air tawar yang kaya protein, mudah dibudidayakan, dan memiliki prospek pasar yang menjanjikan. Rumusan masalah dalam program ini adalah: (1) bagaimana memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan yang sempit untuk usaha produktif, (2) bagaimana meningkatkan pemenuhan gizi keluarga melalui hasil budidaya belut, serta (3) bagaimana menumbuhkan kemandirian masyarakat dalam pengelolaan usaha kecil berbasis rumah tangga. Rencana kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada 1 oktober – 15 november tahun 2025 di RT 04 RW 05 Kelurahan Beringin Raya Kota Bengkulu. Kegiatan beternak belut di pekarangan rumah tidak hanya memberikan solusi atas kebutuhan gizi keluarga, tetapi juga membuka peluang bagi masyarakat untuk memperoleh tambahan penghasilan. Oleh karena itu, melalui proposal ini diajukan program “Budidaya Belut Di Lahan Minimalis Dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Mutu Gizi Keluarga Di Kelurahan Beringin Raya Kecamatan Muara Bangkahulu Kota Bengkulu” sebagai salah satu upaya nyata dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan keluarga sekaligus pemberdayaan ekonomi rumah tangga.

Abstract

Small pelagic fish are an important fish group with high economic value and play a key role in supporting fisheries production in Indonesia. However, data related to small pelagic fish remains limited, particularly in Bengkulu. One area with minimal documented fisheries data is Pasar Bengkulu. This study aims to identify the types of small pelagic fish found in the Pasar Bengkulu Fish Market. Data collection was carried out in June until Juli 2025 at Pasar Segar, Pasar Bengkulu. The method used in this study was descriptive exploration, which involved identifying the small pelagic fish sold in the Pasar Bengkulu Fresh Fish Market by analyzing and comparing their morphological characteristics based on fish identification references, including illustrations, photographs, and morphological descriptions. A total of eight fish species from eight genera and four families were recorded in the Pasar Bengkulu Fresh Fish Market. The most common small pelagic fish found was the weakfish, while the least common was kwee.

Abstract

Global climate change remains one of the major challenges of the 21st century, and mangrove ecosystems play a crucial role as blue carbon sinks, helping mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. However, data on mangrove carbon stocks in Indonesia’s outermost islands, such as Enggano Island, are still limited. This study aims to estimate the aboveground carbon stock of mangrove forests in Banjarsari Village, Enggano District, by integrating field measurements and Sentinel-2A imagery. Biomass was calculated using an allometric approach, while spatial carbon estimation was derived from the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The results show that the mangrove area covers approximately 193,25 ha, dominated by dense vegetation (98%) with NDVI values ranging from −0.5 to 0.94. The dominant species were Rhizophora apiculata. The total above-ground carbon stock was estimated at 44,276.78 tons C. The regression between NDVI and carbon stock produced the equation y = 2.1402x − 185.36, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.48 and an RMSE of 161,14 tons/ha. These findings demonstrate the significant carbon storage capacity of Enggano’s mangrove ecosystem and highlight its crucial role in supporting climate change mitigation and low-carbon development in Indonesia’s remote coastal regions. Perubahan iklim global menjadi tantangan utama abad ini, dan ekosistem mangrove berperan penting  sebagai penyerap karbon biru (blue carbon) yang efektif dalam menekan emisi gas rumah kaca. Namun, informasi mengenai stok karbon mangrove di wilayah kepulauan terluar Indonesia, seperti Pulau Enggano, masih sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengestimasi cadangan karbon mangrove bagian atas di Desa Banjarsari, Kecamatan Enggano, melalui integrasi data lapangan dan citra Sentinel-2A. Biomassa dihitung menggunakan pendekatan alometrik, sedangkan estimasi spasial karbon diperoleh melalui analisis indeks vegetasi NDVI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa luas ekosistem mangrove mencapai 193,25 ha dengan dominasi kerapatan rapat (98%) dan nilai NDVI berkisar antara −0,5 hingga 0,94. Spesies dominan yang ditemukan adalah Rhizophora apiculata. Total cadangan karbon diperkirakan mencapai 44.276,78 ton C. Hubungan antara NDVI dan stok karbon menunjukkan persamaan regresi y = 2,1402x − 185,36 dengan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,48 dan RMSE 161,14 ton/ha. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa ekosistem mangrove Enggano memiliki potensi besar sebagai penyerap karbon, sekaligus berkontribusi terhadap upaya mitigasi perubahan iklim dan kebijakan pembangunan rendah karbon di wilayah pesisir terpencil Indonesia.

Abstract

Technological developments, especially in remote sensing in mangrove mapping are growing. One of them is the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as a vehicle for capturing aerial photo data. This study aims to map the mangrove ecosystem in order to find out spatial information with UAV technology and to identify mangrove species, distribution, and associations. The ground survey was conducted on 02 until 04 May 2019 in North of Lancang Island, Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta Province. The mangrove data collection was carried out in four stations with marking, tracking the mangrove area and drone flights for taking aerial photo data. Based on the research, it was found that the mangroves were in good condition with an area of around 4 hectares, consisting of Rhizophora mucronata. However, there is a lot of waste around the mangrove ecosystem, especially inorganic waste in the form of plastic. Where the presence of garbage can cover the roots of the mangrove so that it can affect respiration and cause death in mangroves. The application of UAV technology that is integrated with GIS in mangrove ecosystem mapping is expected to be an alternative in extracting mangrove databases for future coastal ecosystem management.

Abstract

Mangroves, as one of the vegetation types that is a natural stronghold from coastal disasters, also function as a shelter and find food for various biota in coastal ecosystems. Therefore, protecting the mangrove ecosystem from degradation is very important. One effort that needs is ecosystem rehabilitation through mangrove planting in coastal environments. To support it, a design was devised using drones and remote-sensing vehicles to assist in making mangrove planting designs. This research was conducted in Jenggalu Estuary, Gading Cempaka District, Bengkulu City. This research aims to study the use of drones in mapping potential mangrove planting areas and designing a mangrove planting plan to rehabilitate coastal ecosystems. In mapping using drones, the height used was 80 meters with 80% overlap, and 2.87 hectares of potential mangrove planting area was obtained. Based on the research results, drones in mapping are very useful in calculating the area of potential mangrove planting areas and designing effective planting plans. There are four scenarios for planting mangroves with a spacing of 0.5 m, 1 m, 2 m, and 3 m, respectively. For a planting area of 2.87 ha, the number of seeds needed is 114,800 planting points for a distance of 0.5 m, 28,700 planting points for a distance of 1 m, 7,175 planting points for a distance of 2 m, and 3,189 planting points for a distance of 3 m

Abstract

Mangroves are coastal ecosystems that play a vital role in maintaining coastal stability, providing habitat for diverse biota, and reducing the impacts of climate change. However, these ecosystems continue to face threats, including in Muara Jenggalu, Bengkulu City. This study aims to map the spatial distribution of mangroves using Sentinel-2A imagery with the Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) method, which employs SVM (Support Vector Machine) as a statistical technique for prediction and classification, while also examining the relationship between the vegetation index (NDVI) and mangrove canopy cover. The results indicate that the segmentation scale influences classification accuracy, with scale 3 achieving a high accuracy of 97.17% and a mangrove area of 41.01 ha. The classification segments the study area into four main classes: mangroves, non-mangrove vegetation, water bodies, and non-vegetation. NDVI values ranged from 0.12 to >0.35, with mangrove areas primarily in the medium to high vegetation category. Simple regression analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between canopy cover percentage and NDVI values. The information acquired from this research can be used as a basis for planning the conservation and sustainable management of coastal ecosystems.
