Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between hope and quarter life crisis in final year students in West Sumatra. Hope is the ability possessed by an individual to create a strategy in achieving a goal with the overall motivation he has to recognize the strategy chosen in achieving a goal. Meanwhile, the quarter life crisis is a process of high instability, drastic changes, too many choices and feelings of panic and helplessness. This phase appears in individuals aged 18 to 29 years. This research uses quantitative methods with a quantitative correlational research design. The population in this study were final year students in West Sumatra with a total of 195 students as subjects. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection tool uses the quarter life hope and crisis scale. Data analysis uses the product moment correlation coefficient. The results of the research show that there is a negative relationship between hope and the quarter life crisis in final year students in West Sumatra (r=-0.514: p=0.00). A significant negative relationship means that if an individual has high hopes then the level of quarter life crisis for the individual will be low, and if the level of quarter life crisis is high then the level of hope experienced by the individual will tend to be low.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

AbstractThis study examines the legal responsibilities of start-up business operators toward consumers in electronic transactions within Indonesia’s rapidly expanding digital economy. Using a socio-legal qualitative approach that integrates document analysis, expert interviews, and case-based assessments, the research analyzes the extent to which platform practices align with Indonesia’s legal framework, including the Consumer Protection Law, the ITE Law, and data governance regulations. The findings reveal significant inconsistencies between the obligations mandated by law and the operational behavior of digital platforms, indicating that regulatory compliance remains superficial rather than substantive. Results show that start-up platforms often employ ambiguous Terms of Service, provide unclear information, and implement weak data protection mechanisms that fail to ensure meaningful consent or adequate security for consumer data. Dispute resolution systems are largely ineffective, characterized by slow responses, automated interactions, and opaque decision-making processes that prevent consumers from obtaining fair remedies. Furthermore, platforms frequently shift liability to sellers, logistics partners, or payment intermediaries, despite maintaining significant operational control through algorithms, payment facilitation, and marketplace governance.. Enforcement agencies face challenges in monitoring complex digital ecosystems, while legal frameworks remain insufficiently adaptive to platform-based business models. These conditions allow platforms to operate with minimal accountability, resulting in heightened consumer vulnerability. Overall, the study concludes that improving consumer protection in electronic transactions requires stronger regulatory oversight, standardized contractual transparency, enhanced data governance practices, and fair, accessible dispute resolution mechanisms. These reforms are essential to ensuring a more accountable, equitable, and secure digital marketplace in Indonesia. Abstract

Student focus and attention on course material during lectures are fundamental elements for achieving academic success. However, sleepiness in the classroom often serves as a primary obstacle, hindering students from absorbing information optimally. A key physiological factor underlying this issue is poor sleep quality among students. In the current digital era, such sleep pattern disturbances are frequently triggered by excessive and uncontrolled internet use, leading to tendencies of addiction. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of internet addiction on sleep quality among students at Universitas Negeri Padang. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 256 active students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using two validated instruments: the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) to measure the level of internet dependency and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to evaluate the subjects' sleep quality over the past month. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results revealed a correlation coefficient of 0.562 with a valid significance level. This figure indicates a moderately strong and positive relationship between the two variables; meaning that higher levels of internet addiction correspond to poorer sleep quality among students. These findings suggest the need for interventions regarding digital media usage management to improve student sleep hygiene, which is ultimately expected to enhance focus and academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adult attachment on rejection sensitivity, with self-esteem as a mediator in college students currently in romantic relationships. The research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 156 college students aged 18–25 who had been in a romantic relationship for at least six months and were selected through quota sampling. Data were collected using the Adult Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (ARSQ), Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). The A-RSQ consists of interpersonal scenarios with two items for each situation: anxiety about rejection and expectations of acceptance, each with a 6-point Likert scale. The ECR-R uses a 7-point Likert scale ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree to measure the anxiety and avoidance dimensions of attachment. The RSES uses a 4-point Likert scale ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree to measure individual self-esteem. Data analysis was conducted through prerequisite analysis tests, normality tests, linearity tests, multicollinearity tests, and path analysis to examine the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that avoidant attachment had a significant direct effect on rejection sensitivity, while anxiety attachment did not show a significant direct effect. Self-esteem had a significant negative effect on rejection sensitivity and mediated the relationship between anxiety attachment and rejection sensitivity, but did not mediate the relationship between avoidant attachment and rejection sensitivity. These findings emphasize the important role of self-evaluation in the dynamics of romantic relationships in early adulthood, especially in understanding sensitivity to rejection. This study provides implications for the development of psychological interventions aimed at improving self-esteem and the quality of interpersonal relationships in college students.
