Abstract

This study examines the impact of academic supervision, professional competence, instructional leadership, and work motivation on work productivity within the framework of the Integrative Model of Organizational Behavior. A quantitative approach, utilizing a survey method, was employed with 60 mathematics teachers. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that professional competence (β = 0.337, p = 0.007), instructional leadership (β = 0.262, p = 0.018), and work motivation (β = 0.363, p = 0.001) have a positive and significant effect on teacher productivity. In contrast, supervision has no direct effect on productivity (β = 0.104, p = 0.138), but it does significantly influence motivation (β = 0.218, p = 0.037). Motivation significantly mediated the relationship between competence and productivity (β = 0.081, p = 0.043), but did not mediate the relationship between supervision or leadership and productivity. This finding underscores the importance of enhancing teacher competence and motivation to enhance productivity. The implications of this study suggest that developing professional competence, instructional leadership, and work motivation should be a primary focus for improving teacher productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on how Sekolah Dasa Unggulan Aisyiyah Taman Harapan Curup (SDUA THC), a leading Islamic elementary school, is repositioning its management approach to address the real challenges faced by Islamic private schools, especially in managing educational costs and implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a descriptive qualitative method and a case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with the school principal, observations of school activities, the school action plan, the school financial documents, and an analysis of curriculum-related documents. The results show that SDUA THC has taken meaningful steps to reshape its management in ways that align with both the needs of the school and the values of Islamic education. These steps include focusing on improving the quality of learning through Islamic values, managing finances fairly and transparently, integrating technology into daily teaching practices, continuously supporting teachers’ professional growth, applying the curriculum flexibly with Islamic principles at its core, and building stronger partnerships with both the government and the local community. The study concludes that the school’s efforts are grounded in deep Islamic values — ihsan (striving for excellence), itqan (working with care and professionalism), maslahah (seeking the common good), and ta’awun (helping one another through collaboration). These values not only guide the school’s management but also inspire a more just, holistic, and meaningful educational experience for all.   Keywords: Islamic Education Management, Problems of Islamic Private Schools, Cost of Education, Merdeka Curriculum

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategies of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) applied in Islamic education to support children with special needs in schools. This research uses a qualitative, case-study approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out using an interactive model comprising three main stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that PAI teachers implemented the principles of UDL by utilizing various media and approaches, such as images, videos, Braille Qur'an, and sign language, to ensure that all students, including those with sensory, motor, and cognitive barriers, could access the material effectively. In addition, teachers provide flexibility in the learning pace and set learning goals tailored to individual students' abilities. The implication of this study is the importance of teacher capacity building in the use of adaptive media and educational technology, as well as continuous training to support the optimal implementation of UDL. This research also contributes to enriching the understanding of the application of UDL in religious education for children with special needs (ABK), thereby improving inclusivity and the quality of learning for students with diverse needs.

Abstract

West Sumatra, the land of the Minangkabau people, is one of the fertile breeding grounds for the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) terrorist network. This study aims to describe and analyze in depth the history of the Indonesian Islamic State's religious deviation in West Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative, direct research approach within a social-historical framework. The FGD informants are former NII members and local government officials. The results of the study show that, according to former NII members in West Sumatra, Kartosuwiryo was the main figure in spreading the NII, which was founded to replace the Republic of Indonesia with an Islamic state. This organization was divided into two factions: Abi Tahmid and Abu Toto. The main figures in the spread of NII in West Sumatra were Datuak, I_s, and W_n. Before the raid, NII in West Sumatra had around 1,125 followers, many of whom were trapped in deviant teachings due to their search for religious understanding, dissatisfaction with the government, and a lack of deep religious understanding.

Abstract

The formation of worship practices in Islamic boarding schools cannot be reduced to rule enforcement or ritual scheduling, because students’ engagement in worship grows through relationships, emotional experiences, and the meaning they construct in daily life. This study argues that positive discipline becomes transformative only when it is lived as a humane, relational, and spiritually grounded practice within the pesantren environment. Through a phenomenological exploration of teachers, caregivers, and students at Madinatul Ulum Pamenang, the research reveals that the shift from punitive control to a compassionate and dialogic approach fundamentally reshapes how students understand and perform worship. Rather than compelling compliance, teachers cultivate commitment by modeling sincerity, guiding students through reflective conversations, and creating rhythms of life where worship becomes integrated into personal identity. Students internalize worship not because they fear reprimand but because they witness authentic devotion, receive empathetic support, and participate in structured routines that gradually evolve into personal habits. The findings show that positive discipline functions less as a technique and more as a moral culture that nurtures students’ responsibility, emotional maturity, and spiritual awareness. In this environment, worship becomes an expression of inner readiness instead of external obligation. This study demonstrates that when discipline is reframed as a relational and meaning-oriented process, pesantren life provides fertile ground for cultivating enduring spiritual practices that students sustain even beyond institutional supervision.

Abstract

This research investigates and develops the Fitrah Based Education model to develop the Rahmatan Lil’alamin personality through a holistic single case study at SALIM School. This study responds to the demand for translating Islamic philosophical ideas of fitrah into educational components that link spiritual cultivation, talent cultivation, environmental responsibility, interaction adab and parental involvement. The data was gathered through participant observation, semi structured interviews, document study, and focus group discussion with students, facilitators, parents and school administration. The study suggests that the MPF RL model is built based on five interrelated components; the Tauhidic Curriculum, the Talent Civilization Project, the School of Life, the Interaction Adab, and the Parent Sessions. These components form an integrated educational ecosystem where students are guided to develop knowledge by means of Tafakkur fil Kawn, apply their talent to give benefits to the society through Talent to Mission, enhance their ecological responsibility through nature based education, practice peaceful relations through Interaction Adab, and sustain fitrah development through school home cooperation. The research concludes that the MPF RL model offers a contextual and empirical approach to operationalise Fitrah Based Education into educational practices. While the findings are only based on one case, they provide useful insights for Islamic educational institutions to produce students who are moral, life skilled, socially useful, ecological, and in line with the Rahmatan Lil’alamin paradigm.
