Abstract

The use of synthetic dyes in the textile industry produces wastewater with high potential for environmental pollution. Utilizing natural dyes from Ketapang leaves offers an alternative for reducing such wastewater and can be considered a sustainable dyeing method. According to data from the UNNES Conservation Development Agency, there are 5,170 Ketapang trees around the UNNES campus, indicating a plentiful supply for natural dye production. The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of Ketapang leaf dye in enhancing the aesthetic quality of Shibori products, specifically in terms of motif aesthetics and color direction. The research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental design, using a single variable. Data analysis was conducted through descriptive percentage statistics. The Shibori with the highest aesthetic value was produced using lime as a fixative, achieving a 95% rating (highly quality). Color direction analysis showed that each fixative produced different color outcomes: lime resulted in a Dijon color, alum produced a Corn color, and ferrous sulfate yielded a Seaweed color. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that natural dyes from Ketapang leaves contribute significantly to both motif aesthetics and color direction in Shibori dyeing, offering a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative for textile production.

Abstract

Background: Menarche is the first sign of maturity of the female reproductive organs that requires both physical and psychological readiness. However, in reality, many adolescent girls are not yet physically and mentally prepared when experiencing their first menarche. This lack of readiness often causes problems such as fear, embarrassment, anxiety, and inappropriate behavior in maintaining personal hygiene. It occurs due to limited knowledge about menstruation and the lack of support and open communication from the family, especially the mother. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and menstrual knowledge with menarche readiness among elementary school students. Methods: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design involving 40 female students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Fisher’s Exact Test (p < 0.05). Results: The results showed that most female students had suboptimal family support (60%), low knowledge of menstruation (52.5%), and were not ready to face menarche (75%). There was a significant relationship between family support (p-value= 0.001) and knowledge of menstruation (p-value = 0.001) and readiness to face menarche. Conclusion: Family support and good knowledge can improve adolescents' physical and mental readiness for menarche. Collaboration between families, schools, and health workers is needed to provide reproductive health education from pre-puberty age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of gastronomic tourism to the development of halal tourism in Aceh by highlighting three main indicators, namely gastronomic products, food culture, and consumption habits. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability sampling, where 50 local and foreign tourists visiting Aceh City were selected as respondents. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 with a T-test to determine the effect of each variable on the development of halal tourism. The results showed that the halal product variable had a positive and significant effect on the development of halal tourism with a T-test value of 4.608 and a significance level of 0.00 (<0.10). This shows that halal gastronomic products play an important role in increasing the attractiveness of halal tourism. In addition, the tourist consumption trend variable also has a significant effect on the development of halal tourism with a T-test value of 4.139 and a significance level of 0.00. Meanwhile, the tourist experience variable has a T-test value of 4.834, which shows that tourists' positive experiences with halal services contribute to the growth of halal tourism in Aceh. Simultaneously, the three variables have been proven to have a significant impact on the development of halal tourism. Thus, strengthening the quality of halal products, understanding tourist consumption trends, and improving tourist experiences can be effective strategies in supporting the growth of halal tourism in Aceh, both in terms of policy, marketing, and improving service quality.

Abstract

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) remains a leading degenerative joint disease and a primary driver of chronic pain and disability among older adults. This condition is clinically defined by progressive cartilage degradation, joint stiffness, and a significant loss of functional mobility. Because standard conservative treatments often fail to provide adequate relief, there has been growing interest in regenerative approaches such as extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and dextrose prolotherapy (DP). While their clinical use is increasing, direct comparative evidence regarding their relative effectiveness is still largely missing from some studies. This study aimed to evaluate the differences between ESWT and DP affect patients with knee OA in terms of functional improvement as measured by the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) and pain reduction as measured by the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a pre-test–post-test randomised group design. Twenty patients with grade II–III knee OA who were not improving with traditional therapy were recruited and randomly assigned to two groups: ESWT (n=11) and DP (n=9). The interventions lasted for six weeks. Both before and after the intervention, the WOMAC and the VAS for pain were assessed as outcome measures. A statistical study was conducted to find differences both within and between groups. Results: Both the ESWT and DP groups had statistically significant improvements in all metrics, including pain (VAS), WOMAC pain, stiffness, disability, and total scores (p<0.05). However, there were no significant differences between the two groups for any of the evaluated outcomes (p>0.05). Conclusion: ESWT and DP were equally effective in reducing pain and improving functional outcomes in patients with knee OA. These findings indicate their role as a successful alternative therapy for people who don't receive enough relief from conventional medical therapies. Additional randomized controlled research are required to confirm these conclusions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, social environment, and a consumptive lifestyle on adolescents' financial patterns. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 100 adolescents aged 20–24 years as a sample, randomly selected in South Siantar District. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that financial literacy, social environment, and a consumptive lifestyle significantly influence adolescents' financial patterns. Partially, financial literacy has a positive influence, while a consumptive lifestyle has a negative influence on adolescents' financial patterns. The social environment also showed a significant influence on adolescents' financial patterns. The resulting regression model had a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.959, indicating that 95.9% of the variation in adolescents' financial patterns can be explained by these three independent variables. The implications of this study's results indicate that to form healthy financial patterns in adolescents, it is important to improve financial literacy and create a positive social environment, as well as reduce a consumptive lifestyle.
