Abstract

This study aimed to develop a conceptual framework for an Apache-based mathematics learning platform contextualized with the vocational needs of SMK Tourism. The Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model produces a system design that includes needs analysis, architecture design, and prototype validation. Data collection used questionnaires (524 SMK Tourism students), in-depth interviews (20 teachers), and literature studies related to open-source technology. The results showed that 77.6% of students needed an applied mathematics approach with a tourism case study. The system design was a web-based interactive module (Apache + Moodle) with a contextual quiz feature. Material experts' validation assessed 87% of the content's suitability to the SMK curriculum. Technology experts confirmed technical feasibility with mobile optimization recommendations. Critical findings revealed that this approach effectively solved the gap between abstract mathematical theory and the practical needs of the tourism industry.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of viral social media content on tourists’ visiting decisions in the digital tourism era. The rapid growth of short-form video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts has transformed tourism promotion by enabling destinations to gain popularity through viral exposure. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a cross-sectional survey method. Data were collected from 278 respondents who were active social media users and had been exposed to tourism-related viral content. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression to examine the effect of viral content dimensions on tourists’ visiting decisions. The results indicate that viral social media content significantly influences tourists’ visiting decisions. Among the tested variables, emotional appeal was found to have the strongest effect, followed by entertainment value, credibility, informativeness, and influencer attractiveness. These findings suggest that emotionally engaging and visually appealing content distributed through credible influencers and user-generated sources can effectively stimulate travel intention and encourage actual visitation behavior. The study highlights the importance of optimizing short-form video marketing strategies and adopting data-driven tourism promotion to enhance destination competitiveness. This research contributes to the literature on digital tourism marketing by providing quantitative evidence of how viral content characteristics shape tourist behavior, particularly in developing country contexts.

Abstract

Batu Kumbung Tourism Village possesses considerable cultural tourism potential that requires competent human resources capable of delivering high-quality visitor services. However, the community's understanding of hospitality principles remains limited and needs to be strengthened to create positive visitor experiences. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and practical skills of local communities in implementing hospitality within tourism services. The program was conducted from May 21–23, 2026, using a participatory approach involving members of Pokdarwis, village officials, local micro and small business owners, tourism attraction managers, and community members. The training employed interactive lectures, participatory discussions, and evaluations through observation and questionnaires. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants' understanding of hospitality, excellence service, effective communication, and the importance of creating positive visitor experiences. The evaluation also identified several capacity-building needs, including communication skills, foreign language proficiency, complaint handling, and tour guiding competencies. Overall, the program contributed to strengthening community capacity and provides a foundation for sustainable follow-up assistance to support the development of Batu Kumbung Tourism Village as a culturally based tourism destination.

Abstract

Regenerative tourism has emerged as a response to the limitations of conventional sustainability approaches, yet operational governance models that integrate digital technology, community participation, sacred heritage protection, and regenerative evaluation remain limited. This study aims to develop the SUGITA Model (Spiritual & Universal, Generative Integrated Tourism Approach) as a digitally enabled regenerative tourism governance framework for sacred heritage destinations. A descriptive qualitative design was integrated with Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). Participants were purposively selected for their expertise and involvement in tourism, cultural heritage, local governance, and destination management. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, documentation, fgd, and ISM questionnaires administered to seven experts. Qualitative data were reduced, categorized, interpreted, and validated through stakeholder confirmation, while ISM analysis involved the Structural Self-Interaction Matrix, Reachability Matrix, hierarchical structuring, driving power dependence analysis, and MICMAC mapping. The results identify sacred-site protection standards, internal regenerative evaluation mechanisms, community and visitor participation, and the roles of traditional and administrative villages as key structural drivers. Limited historical documentation and the absence of an official digital platform emerged as major governance constraints. The study’s novelty lies in positioning digitalization not merely as a promotional tool but as a governance and regeneration mechanism that links cultural values, visitor management, stakeholder participation, and regenerative monitoring. The findings imply that sacred heritage destinations should prioritize culturally grounded governance, community co-governance, sacred-zone SOPs, RegenCheck, and digital visitor management before expanding promotional functions. The SUGITA Model offers an adaptable framework for context-sensitive application in comparable cultural and spiritual destinations.
