Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Bahtsul Masail School in improving the competence of fiqh activist cadres through Bahtsul Masail PWNU Institution in West Java. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with Case Study approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving ten informants, consisting of administrators, resource persons, and activists. The results showed that the Bahtsul Masail school program plays an important role in forming a strong and competent cadres in understanding and solving Fiqh problems in the community. In addition to equipping participants with Fiqh, this program also teaches public communication techniques and character strengthening. The main supporting factors include full support from PWNU West Java and the enthusiasm of participants in learning. The inhibiting factors include time constraints and classic book reference sources. The conclusion of this study confirms that Bahtsul Masail School is a strategic innovation in the cadre of religious activists who are knowledgeable and ready to face the social dynamics of religion in the modern era.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has introduced new opportunities for language learning, particularly through tools such as ChatGPT. Despite its global use, the ChatGPT application in Indonesian high schools remains limited, particularly in supporting independent learning under the Independent Curriculum. This study investigated the effectiveness of ChatGPT in enhancing students’ English learning independence, with a focus on engagement, motivation, and performance. A mixed-methods design was applied in three Banda Aceh schools (SMA 3, SMA 4, and SMA 5). Data were gathered through pre-tests and post-tests with 102 students divided into experimental groups using ChatGPT and control groups using conventional methods. Quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene’s test, and paired sample t-tests, while qualitative data were examined thematically. Results showed significant improvement across schools. SMA 3 increased from a pretest mean of 80.39 to a posttest mean of 94.17 (t = 16.60, p = 3.646e-18). SMA 4 rose from 74.00 to 91.00 (t = 23.49, p = 5.164e-23), while SMA 5, with the lowest baseline (57.10), reached 83.93 (t = 17.09, p = 1.106e-16). Homogeneity tests indicated pretest variances differed (p = 0.001), but posttest variances became homogeneous (p = 0.650). The novelty of this study lies in showing that ChatGPT not only improved achievement but also reduced variability among students. In conclusion, ChatGPT effectively fostered independent English learning, balanced student outcomes, and offered a promising tool for adaptive, self-directed learning in Indonesian high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a real-time alcohol monitoring instrument for palm sap fermentation using the MiCS-5524 gas sensor integrated with an Arduino Uno. The system consists of the MiCS-5524 sensor, an Arduino Uno microcontroller, and a 16×2 I2C LCD for real-time display. Sensor calibration was performed using ethanol solutions at 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% to establish a linear regression model relating sensor resistance to ethanol concentration. Fermentation monitoring was carried out for 72 hours, with measurements taken every 24 hours. Sensor outputs were converted from ADC values into voltage, resistance, and ethanol concentration using the calibration equation. The calibration yielded a strong linear correlation (R² = 0.982). Fermentation tests showed a consistent increase in ethanol concentration, reaching 53.9% after 72 hours. Comparison with a digital alcohol meter produced relative errors ranging from 2.8% to 6.4%, demonstrating good accuracy, low drift, and stable sensor response. Overall, the developed instrument effectively measures ethanol concentration in palm sap fermentation in real time. Its simple configuration, low cost, and reliable performance make it suitable for small-scale palm sap processing, quality control, and laboratory applications. Further improvements, such as environmental compensation and IoT-based monitoring, are recommended to enhance system performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang ketersediaan bahan ajar bermuatan kearifan lokal dalam meningkatkan literasi budaya siswa di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Jamiatul Gulami, sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah bahan ajar bermuatan kearifan lokal dapat meningkatkan literasi budaya siswa di MI Jamiatul Gulami Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dalam memperoleh data teknik teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, sedangkan untuk menganalisis data memakai metode analisis isi (content analysis), yaitu menganalisis masalah yang dibahas dengan mengumpulkan data-data yang relevan, kemudian mengambil kesimpulan dari konsep-konsep yang sudah ada. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa di MI Jamiatul Gulami sudah tersedia bahan ajar bermuatan kearifan lokal yang terdapat dalam buku tematik dibeberapa sub tema, dalam upaya meningkatkan literasi budaya siswa tentunya akan menemukan faktor-faktor pendukung juga faktor-faktor penghambat, di MI Jamiatul Gulami selain sudah tersediannya bahan ajar bermuatan kearifan lokal juga terdapat ekstrakurikuler yang mampu menunjang bakat-bakat siswa termasuk dalam hal kebudayaan. Kesimpulan penelitian dari penelitian ini, perkembangan teknologi akan terus berkembang namun sebisa mungkin pemerintah serta masyarakat saling membantu untuk melestarikan kebudayaan Indonesia kepada anak bangsa
