Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of students' locomotor movement skills through the application of traditional chess games in grade IV of elementary school. This study uses the class action research method (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 20 grade IV students, and data were collected through a locomotor motion skill test. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. In the pre-Cycle, only 5% of students achieved the completion criteria, while in Cycle I, the number increased to 55%. In Cycle II, 95% of students achieved the completion criteria, with 75% of students in the "Very Good" category (85–100). The application of traditional game is effective in improving the learning outcomes of students' locomotor movement skills. This research emphasizes the importance of using interactive and fun learning methods to achieve better physical education goals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of weight training using dumbbells on Kizame Tsuki's punching speed at Inkanas Karate Athlete at SMPN 30 Makassar. This research is experimental research. The population used in this research were all Inkanas Karate Athletes at SMPN 30 Makassar. The number of samples was taken as a saturated sample with a sample of 20 male athletes divided into 2 groups, namely 10 athletes in the experimental group and 10 athletes in the control group. The data collection technique uses a survey method, namely tests and measurements with instruments in the form of measuring Kizame Tsuki's punch speed in karate sports. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis of percentage frequencies, t test analysis through prerequisite tests for normality and linearity. The results of this research show that; Analysis of the effect of dumbbell training on the punching speed of Kizame Tsuki karate athletes at Inkanas SMPN 30 Makassar, obtained a value of t = -5.783 (P=.000 <  0.05), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning there is a significant effect of dumbbell training on punching speed Kizame Tsuki, karate athlete at Inkanas SMPN 30 Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of stride frequency and 100-metre running speed among PASI athletes in Soppeng Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive method. The study population consisted of 25 PASI athletes from Soppeng Regency, with a sample of 15 athletes selected as research subjects. Data collection was carried out through a 100-metre sprint test and an observation sheet to measure stride frequency. The data obtained were analysed using descriptive statistics with the aid of SPSS version 20. The results of the study showed that the athletes’ stride frequency in the 100-metre sprint was in the ‘adequate’ category, with 53% of athletes falling into the ‘adequate’ classification and 40% into the ‘good’ classification. Meanwhile, the athletes’ 100-metre running speed fell into the ‘poor’ category, with 73% of athletes classified as ‘poor’ and 27% as ‘very poor’. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the stride frequency of PASI Soppeng Regency athletes is classified as adequate, whilst their 100-metre running speed remains in the poor category. These findings indicate the need for improved training programmes that focus more on developing the athletes’ running speed.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the innovative application of the Sport Education Model (SEM) in football teaching to enhance students’ physical literacy and social literacy. The research method employed is a literature review using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through the search and selection of scientific articles, books, and research publications relevant to SEM, physical education, physical literacy, and social literacy. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis, comprising the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that the implementation of SEM is capable of creating a more contextual and meaningful learning experience through competition-season-based learning organisation, the formation of consistent teams, the allocation of social roles, and structured reflective evaluation. This model has been shown to improve students’ playing skills, understanding of game tactics, motivation to participate in physical activities, as well as their ability to cooperate and communicate socially. Consequently, the Sport Education Model has the potential to become an effective learning innovation in optimally supporting the development of students’ physical and social literacy within physical education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of interest in learning PJOK (Physical Education) for futsal among students in Year 8 at SMP Negeri 2 Pattallassang, Gowa Regency. The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The sample size was 28 students, selected using random sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire on learning motivation, which was designed based on the indicators of attention, interest, enjoyment, and involvement of students, with measurement using a Likert scale. Data collection was carried out by distributing the questionnaire to the respondents, and then analysed using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages with the help of SPSS version 29.0 and Microsoft Excel 2023. The results of the study showed that student interest was in the 'very low' category at 10%, 'low' at 17%, 'moderate' at 32%, 'good' at 39%, and 'very good' at 0%. Despite the presence of students with low learning motivation, the average score of 94.86 indicates that, in general, students' learning motivation for the futsal PJOK subject is in the good category. This finding implies that PE teachers need to maintain and improve their varied and engaging teaching strategies to ensure that students' learning motivation is more evenly distributed and improves, particularly among those who are still in the lower category.

Abstract

Running speed is influenced by various physiological and biological factors, but empirical evidence regarding the role of simple genetic indicators such as blood type and age in young adults still shows mixed results. This study aims to analyze the relationship between blood type and age on running speed as an important component of physical performance. This study used a quantitative design with an observational analytical approach. The study subjects consisted of 129 respondents aged 20–32 years who were selected based on certain inclusion criteria. Blood type was determined through serological testing, while running speed was measured using a 60-meter dash test with a digital timer. Data analysis was performed using One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal–Wallis tests to examine differences in running speed based on blood type and age. The results showed that blood type had no significant relationship with running speed (p > 0.05), although there was variation in the mean between groups. Age also showed no significant relationship with running speed (p > 0.05), but there was a tendency for decreased performance in respondents aged over 30 years. These findings indicate that blood type and age in the young adult range are not dominant factors in determining running speed, so other factors such as training, physical condition, and lifestyle need to receive more attention in developing physical performance
