Abstract

This research is motivated by problems in the learning process, namely students do not follow carefully when the teacher is explaining, students have difficulty in answering questions asked by the teacher. Low ability of 21st Century Thinking Skills, Lack of variation in learning methods used by teachers, and lack of student involvement in the learning process. Therefore, a guided discussion learning model is applied as an effort to improve students' 21st century thinking skills. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of the Influence of the Guided Discussion Learning Model on the Development of 21st Century Thinking Skills at Integrated Agricultural Vocational Schools in Riau Province. The purpose of this study is to determine the Influence of the Guided Discussion Learning Model on the Development of 21st Century Thinking Skills. This study is expected to provide scientific contributions in the field of education and become a theoretical basis for the development of PPKn learning. This study is a type of quantitative experiment with a one-group Pretest Posttest Design. The population in this study were grade X students. Sample data collection in this study was carried out by purposive sampling, as many as 1 class totaling 27 students. The results of the data analysis show that there is an influence and significance between the guided discussion learning model and students' 21st century thinking skills. The significance value (Sig.) Based on the mean is 0.853> 0.05. (2-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05. Thus, the Ha hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the Guided Discussion Learning Model is quite effective in improving the Development of 21st Century Thinking Skills of students at the Integrated Agricultural Vocational High School of Riau Province.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the learning achievement of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru in the Pendidikan Pancasila subject. The background of this study is based on the low activity and learning achievement of students caused by the use of conventional learning methods that tend to be one-way and less actively involve students. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class which was given treatment using the PBL model and the control class which used the lecture method. The instruments used were pretest and posttest tests and observations. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 74, while the control class was 65.67. The t-test showed tcount (2.476) > ttable (1.671) which means there is a significant difference between the two groups. In addition, the N-Gain value of the experimental class was 0.3956 (moderate category), while the control class was 0.2016 (low category). Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning learning model has a positive effect on improving student learning achievement. This model is also able to create more active, collaborative, and contextual learning in accordance with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the form of actualization of Pancasila values ​​in the Burdah tradition carried out in Mandah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The Burdah tradition is part of a local culture that is religious and has an important role in the social life of the community. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation involving five main informants, namely the Head of the Riau Malay Customary Institution (LAMR) of Mandah District, sub-district government officials, the Head of Burdah, Burdah actors, and community leaders. The results of the study show that the values ​​of Pancasila are reflected in the implementation of the Burdah tradition, including the value of Divinity which is reflected in the opening of the event with the reading of the Al-Fatihah surah, the value of Humanity through equal treatment of all people present, the value of Unity in togetherness of the community in carrying out the tradition, the value of Deliberation when determining the time and place of implementation, and the value of Social Justice through the involvement of all levels of society. In addition to being a means of preserving culture, the Burdah tradition also plays a role as a medium for strengthening the nation's ideology. However, the involvement of the younger generation is still relatively low, so it is a challenge in the sustainability of this tradition.

Abstract

The scarcity of fossil fuels as a result of excessive use is a serious problem in the energy sector, so renewable and environmentally friendly alternative fuels are needed, one of which is biodiesel. Biodiesel can be obtained through an esterification or transesterification process with free fatty acids or triglycerides as raw materials with short chain alcohols catalyzed by acids or bases. The aim of this research is to synthesize sulfonated activated carbon from rice husks as a solid acid heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of biodiesel from palm acid oil (PAO). The sulfonated activated carbon catalyst is prepared from rice husk charcoal which is activated with a mixture of carbonate salts, then the activated carbon is acidified through impregnation of sulfonic functional groups from sulfuric acid with the help of a microwave. The performance test of the solid acid catalyst for biodiesel synthesis was carried out at a PAO to methanol mole ratio of 1:32 and a catalyst content of 3%. The biodiesel synthesis reaction was carried out at 65°C for 2 hours. The research results showed that the sulfonate functional group (-SO₃H) was identified from the FTIR results of absorption at the wave number 1216 cm-1. These results confirm that the acidification of activated carbon from rice husks has been successfully carried out. The acid density test on the catalyst obtained an acidity value of 3.21 mmol H+/g. In the performance test of the solid acid catalyst for biodiesel synthesis, biodiesel was obtained with a yield of 88.4%, and 83.74% of free fatty acids from PAO were successfully converted into biodiesel.

Abstract

The kapok seed oil is non-edible oil so it is very profitable as a raw material for making biodiesel. However, the kapok seedoil is dominated by long chain and unsaturated fatty acids. These types of fatty acids tend to reduce the quality of biodiesel, namelythe low cetane number and trigger polymerization reactions during combustion. Ozonation could be applied to shorten the carbonchain and the number of double bonds in fatty acids from kapok seed oil. This research aims to study the effect of time of ozonationat preparation stage of kapok seed oil on biodiesel characteristics of esterification stage with the assistance of ultrasonic waves. Theozonation time was varied for 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The results showed that the longer the time of ozonation the kapok seedoil produced with the increased acid number. The greater acid number of the kapok seed oil was verified by the fatty acid compositionof Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy analysis, showed that the fatty acid structure of the kapok seed oil became simpler.The esterification for 120 minutes to ozonated kapok seed oil which has been ozonized produces oil phase with an acid number of10.6 mg KOH/g, a saponification number of 112 mg KOH/g, and a density of 903 kg/m3.

Abstract

Commercial biodiesel of oil palm is controversial as the palm oil is classified as food oil and palm plantation utilizesfertile land. One potential type of vegetable oil as biodiesel raw material is kemiri sunan (Reutealis trisperma(Blanco) Airy Shaw) oil. This research aimed to prepare a heterogeneous solid catalyst in the form of an impregnatedSiO2by CaO catalyst (CaO/SiO2), to study the effect of the esterification stage on free fatty acid (FFA) content ofoil, and to test the activity of the CaO/SiO2catalyst during the trans-esterification stage for biodiesel formation. CaO/SiO2catalysts were prepared by sol-gel method made from natural materials (egg shells and rice husk). The FFAcontent of kemiri sunan oil was determined through various esterification stages namely 1; 1.5; and 2 hours in thepresence of H2SO4catalyst. While the trans-esterification stage was carried out under reaction temperature of 60°C,oil to methanol ratio of 1:9, reaction time of 2 hours and CaO/SiO2catalyst content of 3%. The results showed thatthe esterification stage for 1; 1.5; and 2 hours reduced the FFA content from 12.5% (without esterification) to 0.65%;0.58%; and 0.54% respectivaly. Biodiesel made from kemiri sunan oil which was synthesized with the addition ofCaO/SiO2catalyst at optimal conditions of trans-esterification stage fulfilled SNI 7182-2015: Biodiesel based ondensity, viscocity, moisture content, iodine number, and cetane number.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the meaning of suffixes attached to kanji profession inJapanese which have different suffixes but the same meaning. Theories used in thisresearch are morphology and semantics. This research is a qualitative research. The datacollection technique used in this research is literature study. The data analysis techniqueused is the determining element. The data in this research are in the form of kanjiprofession which have the same meaning but different suffixes. Data collected in the formof kanji profession means doctors, teachers, writers and painters. The data source used isdictionary entitled Japanese dictionary by Pristian Wulanita (Team I-Smart University).The result of this research describes the different meaning of the data collected and 医師ishi is used in more formal situation than 医者isha. 医家ika is an ancient vocabularywhich shows that the profession of doctor is the hereditary from his family. 教 師 kyoushiis used not only for a teacher who teaches certain subjects in school, but also can used inother teaching contexts. 教員kyouin means a teacher who educates students at school. 作家sakka becomes more specific as a novelist and 作 者 sakusha is a writer of more generalworks of art such as manga, anime, picture books, drama scripts. 画 家 gaka has thespecific meaning of a painter, while 画師 eshi 絵師 eshi means an illustrator.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of tolerance of class VIII students in Junior High School Negeri 1 Sentajo Raya. To minimize this problem, there is a learning of Pancasila Education. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of Pancasila Education on the tolerance character of class VIII students. This research uses quantitative research method with a statistical approach. The population and sample of this study were 39 students. The data analysis technique was carried out using a simple linear regression test with the help of SPSS version 27. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of Pancasila Education on the tolerance character of class VIII students as evidenced by the value of Fcount (10.496) ≥ Ftable (4.105). The results of the calculation of the coefficient of determination (R square) test were obtained at 22.1%, which means that there is an influence of Pancasila education on the tolerance character of class VIII students while 77.9% (100%-22.1%) is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

Minyak goreng, khususnya dari sawit, merupakan salah satu kebutuhan utama di rumah tangga dan industri pangan atau kuliner. Pemakaian minyak goreng tersebut pada akhirnya akan dihasilkan limbah berupa minyak goreng bekas. Minyak goreng bekas memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pada pembuatan biodiesel, salah satu jenis energi terbarukan. Namun demikian, sebelum digunakan pada proses pembuatan biodiesel, minyak goreng bekas tersebut harus dipisahkan dari pengotor-pengotornya. Salah satu metode dalam tahap pemisahan pengotor dari minyak goreng bekas tersebut adalah adsorpsi dengan berbagai jenis adsorben, misalnya arang aktif. Tempurung kelapa merupakan limbah biomassa potensial sebagai bahan baku untuk menghasilkan arang aktif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan pengaruh suhu dan kadar adsorben pada adsorpsi minyak goreng bekas dengan arang aktif dari tempurung kelapa untuk terhadap karakteristik minyak goreng bekas sebagai bahan baku pada sintesis biodiesel. Prosedur penelitian meliputi dua tahap utama, yaitu pemurnian minyak goreng bekas dengan metode sedimentasi, filtrasi, evaporasi, dan sedimentasi; kemudian sintesis biodiesel dari minyak goreng bekas setelah dimurnikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adsorpsi minyak goreng bekas pada suhu 70 °C dan kadar arang aktif sebagai adsorben sebanyak 5% (b/v) diperoleh minyak goreng bekas dengan kualitas terbaik, didasarkan pada parameter densitas, viskositas, bilangan asam, dan bilangan iodin. Biodiesel yang dihasilkan dari minyak goreng bekas yang telah dimurnikan pada kondisi adsorpsi optimal tersebut telah memenuhi standar kualitas biodiesel menurut Standar Nasional Indonesia, SNI 7182-2015.

Abstract

The learning model is a means used to implement plans for achieving the learning objectives, one of which is social science learning subjects. In the 21st century, students are required to have critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is a way of thinking to analyze problems. In increasing critical thinking skills, the students must learn independently through discovery learning and based on self-efficacy. Through the discovery learning model, the student’s critical thinking skills and self-efficacy will increase. The purpose of the research is to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy. The research uses quasi-experimental. In total, 48 students participated in the research with 26 participating in the experimental class and 22 participating in the control class. Data collection methods include tests, non-tests questionnaires, and note-taking. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing (including the N-Gain and mean difference tests) were to check the data. The N-Gain TKBK values are 1.7903 for the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group's N-Gain self-efficacy score are compared to the control group, and the NGain value is 1.4253. Through a higher effectiveness value than 1, it is clear that the discovery learning model is effective to increaxse students’ critical thinking skills and self-efficacy.
