Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation on organizational commitment among library staff of public senior high schools (SMA Negeri) in Jambi Province, both directly and indirectly. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cluster sampling technique across three regions Jambi City, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, and Merangin Regencywith a total of 132 respondents, 97 of whom were included in the analytical sample. Data were processed using SmartPLS 3.0 through structural model testing (inner model) to examine causal relationships among variables. The results indicate that leadership style does not have a significant direct effect on work motivation, whereas organizational culture shows a strong and significant direct effect on the work motivation of library staff. Additionally, leadership style and organizational culture jointly have a significant impact on work motivation. Regarding organizational commitment, the findings reveal that leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation each have a positive and significant direct effect. Further results show that both leadership style and organizational culture exert significant indirect effects on organizational commitment through work motivation, suggesting that work motivation functions as a mediating variable in these relationships. Overall, this study concludes that organizational culture is the most dominant factor influencing both work motivation and organizational commitment, while work motivation strengthens the relationship between leadership and cultural factors and the commitment of library staff. Therefore, efforts to enhance organizational commitment among library personnel in public senior high schools in Jambi Province should focus on cultivating a positive organizational culture, improving effective leadership practices, and providing continuous motivational support.

Abstract

Improving teacher competency is more effective when supported by continuous professional development. This Community Service Program continues previous activities in 2024, which focused on training chemistry teachers to develop argumentation-based questions. Although teachers can now construct such questions, challenges remain in classroom implementation, especially in applying strategies and assessing their impact on students’ argumentation skills. To address this, the program introduces Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on argumentation skills. The goal is to equip chemistry teachers with practical knowledge and skills to design and implement learning that fosters argumentation through CAR. The program includes training, group discussions, tests and questionnaires, mentoring in CAR planning, implementation practice, and reflection. Results show improved teacher understanding of argumentation structures, CAR stages, and enhanced ability to design contextual and reflective learning to develop students’ argumentation skills. This program supports the sustainable development of argumentation-based learning to improve the quality of chemistry education in line with 21st-century demands. This program demonstrates an effective model for sustaining argumentation-based learning in chemistry education.

Abstract

Rivers are vital water resources that support ecosystems, yet industrial activities may reduce water quality through organic, nutrient, and heavy metal pollution. This study aims to analyze the water quality of rivers surrounding PT Mertex Mojokerto by measuring pH, TDS, DO, ammonia (NH₄⁺), nitrate (NO₃⁻), and heavy metal concentrations, and comparing the results with Indonesian water quality standards (Government Regulation No. 22/2021 and Ministry of Health Regulation No. 32/2017). Water samples were collected and analyzed using a pH meter, TDS meter, DO test kit, and specific test kits for heavy metals, ammonia, and nitrate. The results showed that pH (7.4–7.6), TDS (156 ppm), and DO (7.5 ppm) were within acceptable limits. Ammonia was not detected (0 ppm), while nitrate reached 50 ppm, exceeding the permissible limit (10 ppm). Most hazardous heavy metals were not detected, but zinc (Zn) was recorded at 5 mg/L, far above the maximum allowable concentration of 0.05 mg/L. Overall, the river water quality near PT Mertex is relatively good, although high levels of nitrate and zinc indicate potential pollution that could threaten aquatic ecosystem balance.

Abstract

Water is a resource that is vulnerable to quality degradation due to anthropogenic activities and environmental disasters. The Lapindo mudflow that has been occurring since 2006 in Sidoarjo has the potential to affect the condition of surrounding waters, including the Gempolsari River, which is located near the affected area. This study aims to analyze the water quality of the Gempolsari River using physical-chemical parameters as a basis for determining environmental quality status. The methods used included water sampling and analysis of selected parameters, namely pH, DO, TDS, nitrate (NO3-), ammonia (NH3), and heavy metals. The analysis was carried out using simple field test equipment and compared with river water quality standards based on Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021. The results showed that the nitrate level was 50 mg/L, which exceeded the threshold, indicating nutrient pollution. Other parameters such as ammonia (0 mg/L), most heavy metals (0 mg/L), pH (7.5), TDS (0.308 mg/L), and DO (10 mg/L) were still within the quality standards. However, the concentrations of magnesium (425 mg/L) and carbon (425 mg/L) were detected to exceed the standards. These findings indicate that the water quality of the Gempolsari River is relatively good for most parameters, but is lightly to moderately polluted due to nutrient loads, particularly nitrates, and certain mineral content. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of continuous monitoring of water quality in the areas affected by the Lapindo mudflow. The results can be used as a basis for environmental management recommendations and pollution mitigation efforts for the sake of aquatic ecosystem sustainability and public health protection.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital AIS adoption (X1) and operational efficiency (X2) on cost-based financial performance (Y1), and to test the moderating role of innovative organizational culture (Z). The sample consists of manufacturing companies in Indonesia. PLS-SEM analysis shows that X1 and X2 significantly improve Y1. The moderation results indicate Z strengthens the positive relationship between X1 and Y1, and X2 and Y1. These findings underscore the importance of synergy among technology implementation, efficient operational practices, and an innovative cultural environment to achieve and maintain cost advantage.

Abstract

Archive management is an essential element in supporting the smooth administration of schools. However, archive management at Al-Hariri Private Vocational High School in Tebo Regency has not been carried out optimally due to limitations in administrative staff and supporting facilities. This study aims to analyze the performance of administrative staff in archive management, identify obstacles, and examine efforts to overcome these obstacles to improve the effectiveness of archive governance. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the performance of administrative staff is not yet optimal, as evidenced by unsystematic archive arrangement and the absence of a dedicated archive room. The main obstacles include limitations in human resources and infrastructure. Efforts to overcome these obstacles have been implemented through internal collaboration, more organized manual archive arrangement, effective time management, support from the school principal, competency improvement through training, and the initial implementation of document digitization. This study emphasizes the need to enhance administrative staff competencies, provide adequate archival facilities, and strengthen school administrative management to ensure more effective archive management.
