Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of shyness to student engagement in university students. The respondents in this study were active students from 9 faculties at Makassar State University with a total of 456 people. The measuring instrument used in this study is a student engagement and shyness scales. The data in this study were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of the data analysis showed a significant value of 0.000, meaning that there is a contribution of shyness to student engagement in UNM students. The r value was -0.430, indicating that shyness has a negative contribution to student engagement with a moderate correlation strength category, and the R Square value was 0.185, meaning that shyness has a contribution of 18.5% to student engagement. The implication of this study is that it can contribute to the development of science related to shyness and student engagement, and can be used as a guide for students and educators in reducing shyness and increasing student engagement.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk kontribusi Ilmu psikologi dalam membantu meningkatkan Pengetahuan dan kepeduliaan Guru-Guru TK dan KB Qur'ani At-Tauhid Rijang Pittu Sidrap Kontribusi melalui program PKM Pelatihan ini berfokus pada pelatihan pada guru-guru TK dan KB Qur'ani At-Tauhid Rijang Pittu Sidrap melalui pelatihan Guru Peduli “Peka dan Unggul Atasi Bullying”. Program ini dibuat dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksperensial learning. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode Pelatihan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan,dan kepedulian guru-guru di TK dan KB Qur'ani At-Tauhid Rijang Pittu Sidrap guna membentuk pengetahuan, keterampilan,dan kepedulian dalam mengatasi bullying ada siswa di sekolah dasar. Hasil pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan,dan kepedulian dalam mengatasi bullying ada siswa Program akan dirancang, perencanaan kegiatan program, pengelolaan proses kegiatan, evaluasi program, serta penyusunan laporan kegiatan program.Dengan demikian, disarankan akan pengabdian ini dapat diterapkan di lokasi PAUD lainnya.

Abstract

High-quality education is critical to the successful realization of national goals. Student engagement refers to how students participate and are involved in learning activities both inside and outside the classroom. Self-regulated learning is one of the factors that students must have to influence student engagement. This research aims to determine the role of self-regulated learning on student engagement of class XI students at SMKN Y Palu. This research uses quantitative methods. The respondents in this study were 303 students at SMKN Y Palu who were in grade XI. Data collection techniques use questionnaires. The results of data analysis show that there is a role between self-regulated learning and student engagement. The hypothesis test in this study used simple regression analysis and the results of the hypothesis test showed that the influence of the self-regulated learning variable on student engagement was 26%, while the remaining 74% was influenced by other factors not involved in this research. The implication of this research is that this research is expected to make a positive contribution, especially in psychology and schools, as well as provide additional information related to self-regulated learning and student engagement variables.

Abstract

Menikah di usia muda meningkat setiap tahunnya, salah satu dampaknya adalah perceraian dikarenakan penyesuaian pernikahan yang buruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan penyesuaian pernikahan antara laki-laki dan perempuan yang menikah muda di kabupaten luwu timur. Dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 128 subjek (64 pasangan suami istri) yang menikah dibawah usia 20 tahun dan berdomisili di kabupaten Luwu Timur. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif komparatif dengan analisis uji Independent Sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,018 < 0,05, nilai t hitung sebesar 2,403 > t tabel 1,980, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata penyesuaian perkawinan antara laki-laki dan perempuan yang menikah muda di Kabupaten Luwu Timur. Penelitian ini diharapkan agar suami dan istri mampu saling berkomitmen, membuat kesepakatan-kesepakatan atas persetujuan kedua belah pihak, memberikan kekompakan dalam melakukan aktivitas bersama sehingga merasa dekat satu sama lain dan menunjukkan kasih sayang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between celebrity worship and body image in female K-pop fans at Makassar State University. This research uses quantitative methods with accidental sampling techniques. Respondents in this study were female K-pop fan students at Makassar State University totaling 210 people. The measuring instruments used are the Celebrity Adoration Scale and the Body Image Scale. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed online. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment analysis technique with the help of the SPSS v.22 application. Based on the results of data research, the correlation coefficient value is r = 597 and p = 0.000 which shows that there is a significant positive relationship between celebrity worship and body image in female K-pop fans at Makassar State University. This study indicates that the higher the celebrity worship score, the higher the body image of female K-pop fans at Makassar State University.

Abstract

Student engagement in school is influenced by various factors, one of which is related to student perceptions of teacher support. Positive and negative student perceptions of the support provided affect student involvement in the classroom. This study aims to determine the role of student perceptions related to teacher support on student engagement. The method uses a quantitative approach method. The population in this study were 232 students of SMP X Makassar City with a sample of 145 students obtained through accidental sampling techniques. Data is collected through questionnaire use Scale student engagement adaptation of 22 items (CFI = 0.924; TLI = 0.903; RMSEA = 0.0497) with McDonald's reliability = 0.873 and the teacher support adaptation scale is 11 items (CFI = 0.955; TLI = 0.940; RMSEA = 0.0577) with McDonald's reliability = 0.853. The results of this study indicate that student perception of teacher support have role and manner significant influential towards student engagement among students at SMP X Makassar City with contribution amounting to 23.8%. Implications in study This is perception student related teacher support is influential on student engagement be a better teacher give capable support​ in effort For make student own positive perception​ related support provided by teachers.

Abstract

School is one of the environments that plays a role in shaping the character of students. If the school can meet the needs of students while they are there, then students will feel comfortable in school. This convenience will have an impact on their involvement in learning activities. The high well-being of students in school will affect their behavior in the classroom, known as student engagement. This study aims to determine how the role of school well-being on student engagement in SMA Negeri 1 Polewali students. This study used quantitative methods involving 306 students of SMA Negeri 1 Polewali using the Stratified Random Sampling Technique. The data obtained are then analyzed using Simple Regression analysis techniques. The instruments used are school well-being and student engagement measuring instruments. The results of the hypothesis test showed an R-square value of 0.440 (44%). This shows that there is a role for school well-being in student engagement in students. This research can be used as a reference for students and schools to overcome the problem of low student involvement in schools.

Abstract

Student Engagement is the active involvement of students in academic activities. It is undeniable that there are still students who show a passive attitude in class, how students' perceptions of teacher support play a role in shaping changes in all aspects of participation in class. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of teacher support perceptions on student engagement in students. The method used in this study is a quantitative research method. The subjects in this study were 138 who were taken using the accidental sampling technique. The measuring instrument was student engagement and teacher support scale. The data in this study were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results of this study showed a significance value of 0.000, means that teacher support has an effect on student engagement in SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa students. The r value is 0.390 and the R Square value is 0.152, which means that teacher support has an effect of 15.2% on student engagement. The implications of this study are to contribute to developing knowledge related to teacher support and student engagement, in addition to providing guidelines for students, teachers, and schools in order to improve teacher support and student engagement in schools.

Abstract

Social support can play an important role in reducing the risk of academic burnout by providing emotional, informational, and instrumental resources. This research aims to examine the role of social support on the level of academic burnout in active students at the Faculty of Psychology, Makassar State University. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 305 students from the Faculty of Psychology as respondents using non-probability accidental techniques. Data was collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, then analyzed using linear regression. The results of the hypothesis test show an R-square value of 0.173 (17.3%), which indicates that social support has a significant influence on reducing the level of academic burnout in students. The implication of this research is that faculties need to implement social support programs that are acceptable to students, and institutions must consider policies that encourage interaction between students and with the people around them. This research opens up opportunities for further study regarding the types of support that have the most significant impact on students' lives and expands investigations into other factors that influence academic burnout.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of peer social support in student engagement in Islamic boarding schools. The respondents in this study were 200 male and female students of Al Wasilah Lemo Islamic Boarding School. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The item correlation of peer social support variables ranged from -0.09 to 0.13. The item correlation of student engagement variables ranged from 0.03 to 0.29. In the peer social support variable, the CFI value was 0.950, TLI was 0.924, and RMSEA was 0.0532. In the student engagement variable, the CFI value was 0.980, TLI was 0.960, and RMSEA was 0.0595. The reliability coefficient values of the peer social support scale were 0.834 and the student engagement scale was 0.831. The researcher found a positive correlation (0.144) between peer social support and student engagement, with significance at p=0.043 (p<0.05), indicating a significant influence. The results of the analysis also showed an R square value of 0.020. This value shows that the contribution of peer social support to student engagement is 2%. Additional analysis showed a significant difference in student engagement based on gender, with female students showing higher engagement (mean=24.8) than male students (mean=22.6). This study is expected to provide information, increase insight, and provide positive benefits especially related to peer social support and student engagement.
