Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an acute viral infectious disease caused by the dengue virus found in the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This mosquito is the fastest growing in the world and infects nearly 390 million people each year. To prevent its development, insecticides such as abate powder are used. Natural insecticides such as fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius) to avoid this impact. This study aims to determine the ability of fragrant pandan leaf powder used as a larvicide against the death of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. The research method uses an experimental design with a Post-Test Only Control Design. The sample was third instar Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae as many as 25 larvae in each treatment. Fragrant pandan leaves are made in the form of powder which is put into a tea bag, the powder is divided into 3 doses namely 2.5 grams, 3 grams and 3.5 grams. The analysis used the One way of ANOVA statistical test and the probit test. The results showed that there were differences in the dosage of pandan leaf powder in killing Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae (p value = 0.000). In conclusion, pandan leaf powder can be used as a larvicide in killing Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. It is recommended that people use fragrant pandan leaf powder as a larvicide and use a higher dose in order to kill 100% of the larvae.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease cases increase due to consumption cholesterol dietary habit. It is well-known that squalence synthase (SQS) is the first committed enzyme for cholesterol synthesis. Therefore, SQS become target of anti-cholesterol. This paper aims to determine the potential binding pocket of SQS (PDB ID: 1EZF). Dogsitescorer, siteFinder, and DEPTH were used for binding pocket prediction and MOE 2009.10 was performed for molecular docking. We found that there are five out of 37 pockets which have druggability score above 0.8. Pocket_5 is the highest drugability and favorable for hydrophobic interaction, yet lower number of hydrogen bond with the ligand. However, Pocket_2, and Pocket_3 are suitable for hydrogen bond formation of ligand-protein. Molecular docking study showed that TAK-475, D99, and Cynarin inhibitors were embedded on the P_2 and P_3 of SQS, showing that P2_and P3 are promising binding pocket for ligand interactions. These results show a promising alternative to design anti-cholesterol using these potential pocket in silico.

Abstract

This study investigates morphological errors in academic writings by students in the Arabic Language Teaching Department at Al-Raya University. Despite the university’s strong commitment to promoting Arabic proficiency and providing an Arabic-speaking environment, students still make significant morphological errors in their research papers. These errors, especially in the use of correct word forms, significantly impact the clarity and accuracy of their work. The research identifies and classifies common morphological mistakes such as incorrect derivations, verb usage, and the application of prefixes and suffixes. Such errors can change the meaning of words, leading to incorrect interpretations of academic content. For instance, using the word "عالم" (scholar) instead of "علامة" (sign) can result in misleading conclusions. The study analyzed 20 student research papers from 2023, revealing 85 distinct morphological errors. The findings emphasize the need for more focused instruction on Arabic morphology, suggesting improvements in teaching methods and the development of academic support programs. The study aims to enhance the quality of academic writing among students by providing insights into common errors and offering recommendations to reduce these mistakes in future research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh pengawasan, Koordinasi, dan kompetensi terhadap kinerja pegawai dalam program Secawan di Dinas PUPR Kota Depok. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya ketiga variabel tersebut dalam mendukung pelaksanaan proyek infrastruktur yang efektif dan efisien. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan analisis statistik dengan SPSS untuk menghitung koefisien korelasi dan determinasi, serta uji signifikansi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien korelasi (R) sebesar 0,777, mengindikasikan hubungan yang sangat kuat antara variabel pengawasan, Koordinasi, dan kompetensi dengan kinerja pegawai. Pengawasan, Koordinasi, dan kompetensi masing-masing berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kinerja, dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 59,7%, 41,4%, dan 20,9% berturut-turut. Secara simultan, ketiga variabel ini menjelaskan 60,3% variasi kinerja pegawai. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa peningkatan pengawasan, Koordinasi, dan kompetensi akan meningkatkan kinerja pegawai. Saran implementatif meliputi penguatan sistem pengawasan berbasis kinerja, peningkatan komunikasi dan kolaborasi antar unit kerja, serta program pengembangan kompetensi dan pelatihan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri animasi di Indonesia semakin pesat, tidak hanya sebagai media hiburan tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukasi dan penyampaian pesan moral. Penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan concept art dan storyboard untuk animasi Lala dan Penjaga Hijau, yang bertujuan menyampaikan pesan pelestarian lingkungan melalui interaksi tokoh utama dengan roh penjaga hutan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pipeline produksi untuk alur kerja terstruktur dan teknik thumbnail sketching untuk eksplorasi desain cepat. Concept art dikembangkan menggunakan Adobe Photoshop, sedangkan storyboard dibuat dengan Storyboard Pro 20.1 untuk memvisualisasikan alur cerita, sudut kamera, dan komposisi adegan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini mampu menghasilkan desain visual yang kohesif dan storyboard yang terarah, sehingga mempercepat produksi dan meminimalkan kesalahan. Dengan demikian, perancangan concept art dan storyboard yang matang menjadi kunci dalam menciptakan animasi berkualitas tinggi yang selaras dengan visi cerita. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis dalam memahami peran elemen visual dalam narasi animasi serta manfaat praktis dalam meningkatkan efisiensi produksi.

Abstract

Organizational change is critical for companies to stay competitive in today's dynamic business environment.  Both high-quality employee performance and strong human resource competencies are critical to a company's success.  Workers' output at PT Claten Bersinar Sejahtera is the target of this research, which intends to dissect the relationship between OHS and job competences.  The quantitative data analysis method was used with 80 PT Claten Bersinar Sejahtera employees as respondents.  Multiple linear regression was employed for data analysis.  The study's findings suggest that OHS has a positive and significant impact on employee performance, that work competence has an effect on performance, and that the combination of OHS and competence has an even stronger impact on performance.  This proves that helping workers acquire new skills is crucial for improving productivity on the job.  Findings from this study have significant implications for HRM practices. Abstract

Luka sayat merupakan luka dengan tepi lurus dan beraturan yang umumnya diobati menggunakan antiseptik povidone iodine 10%. Namun, penggunaan jangka panjang bahan tersebut dapat menimbulkan efek samping seperti reaksi alergi, toksik fibroblas kulit, serta iritasi selama proses penyembuhan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan bahan alternatif penyembuh luka seperti dengan menggunakan tanaman obat seperti daun tapak dara (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh cara penyiapan daun tapak dara terhadap panjang dan waktu penyembuhan luka sayat pada mencit (Mus musculus L). Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium FKIP Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Jambi dengan rancangan acak lengkap, terdiri atas tiga perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuan meliputi pemberian povidone iodine 10% (P1), tumbukan daun tapak dara (P2), dan air rebusan daun tapak dara (P3). Parameter yang diamati adalah pengurangan panjang luka dan waktu sembuh selama dua puluh satu hari. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of variant) dilanjutkan uji LSD (Least Significant Difference) untuk melihat perbedaan yang signifikan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari cara penyiapan daun tapak dara terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat. Perlakuan air rebusan daun tapak dara (P3) memberikan hasil panjang luka paling kecil yaitu 2,51 mm dengan waktu sembuh 11 hari, diikuti oleh tumbukan daun tapak dara(P2) dengan panjang luka 3,04 mm dan waktu sembuh 12 hari. Hasil penelitian ini dikembangkan menjadi media video pembelajaran pada mata kuliah fisiologi hewan untuk membantu mahasiswa memahami mekanisme pemulihan dari luka secara kontekstual dan aplikatif melalui visualisasi proses penyembuhan luka secara langsung.

Abstract

Cosmetics in cream form are more suitable. Stearic acid and triethanolamine are used as emulsifiers in making creams. The purpose of this study was to see the variation of stearic acid with triethanolamine that produces a stable cream against the physical properties of the cream preparation. The cream made was a cream with an oil-in-water (w/o) type with variations of stearic acid 5, 10, 15, 20%, and triethanolamine 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4%. The heating temperature used was 400C. The cream preparation formed was evaluated through physical property testing including pH testing and Homogeneity testing and organoleptic testing. The results showed that the higher the concentration of stearic acid used, the pH of the cream decreased, but was still within the requirements of a good cream for the skin, as well as homogeneity, the higher the concentration of stearic acid, the more homogeneous the cream produced. Panelist organoleptic testing liked the color, odor and homogeneity of the 20% stearic acid variation, which was preferred by panelists. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the concentration of the cream preparation with variations of stearic acid: triethanolamine 20%: 3.5% is the best preparation based on testing of physical and organoleptic properties.

Abstract

DM is a metabolic disorder characterized by chronic high blood glucose levels that can cause death. Long-term hyperglycemia can slowly cause retinopathy, heart and blood vessel disease, and neuropathy. Avocado is known to be used as an anti-diabetic because it contains saponin, alkaloid, steroid, phenol, tannin dan glikoside that are effective in lowering blood glucose levels. This study aims to test the potential for inhibition of the α-amylase enzyme using the molecular docking method. The study was conducted by utilizing a protein that has PDB ID 2QV4 to interact with active compounds in the ethanol extract of Avocado fruit. The results obtained were that the compounds procyanidin, vitexin, dan isoharment rhamnoside have good binding ability to α-amylase. Thus, these compounds have the potential as antidiabetics.

Abstract

Cholesterol is a disease caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. Cholesterol occurs because fat accumulates in blood vessels so that plaques form which causes blood vessels to narrow. With this problem in mind, this research was conducted to predict drug compounds capable of treating cholesterol disease by comparing them with simvastatin. Chromolaena odorata can be used as a medicinal plant that can treat cholesterol disease because this plant contains active compounds of flavonoids. This research tries to see the active interaction with HMG-CoA reductase inhibition in an improved way using Moe 2009.10 software. Based on the results of research that has been done based on the comparison of ∆G, compound O-Geranylvanillin, Avenestergenin B2, 5-O-Methylembelin, Kaempferol 3-[2’’-(6’’’-coumaroylglucosyl)- rhamnoside] 7-glucoside, ( ± )-Taxifolin, Hesperetin, ( ± )-Naringenin, Luteolin, 3′ ,4′ -Methylenedioxy epicatechin 5,7-dimethyl ether has the potential to be used as a candidate for anti-cholesterol drugs to replace simvastatin through the HMG-CoA reductase inhibition mechanism.
