Abstract

Understanding the recognition of Hijaiyah letters is a fundamental basis in Qur'an learning, especially at the elementary school level. The aim of this study is to improve the understanding of Hijaiyah letters among first-grade students at MI Karanggates Purworejo through the implementation of the Ummi method combined with flashcard learning media. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, with each cycle comprising two meetings. Data collection techniques included tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which includes data condensation, data display, and data verification stages. The results of the study showed that the Ummi method integrated with flashcards significantly improved the students’ understanding of Hijaiyah letters in grade 1 at MI Al Huda Karanggetas, Purworejo. The improvement in Cycle 1 reached 53%, while in Cycle II it increased to 82%. The conclusion of the study is that the use of the Ummi method through flashcards is effective in enhancing students' ability to recognize and understand Hijaiyah letters in grade 1 at MI Al Huda Karanggetas, Pituruh, Purworejo.Pemahaman pengenalan huruf hijaiyah merupakan dasar fundamental dalam pembelajaran Al-Qur’an, terutama di tingkat sekolah dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman huruf hijaiyah siswa kelas 1 MI Karanggates Purworejo melalui penerapan metode Ummi yang dipadukan dengan media pembelajaran flashcard. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian PTK yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 2 pertemuan. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan test, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles & Huberman & Saldana yang terdiri dari tahap kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa metode ummi melalui media flascard dapat meningkatkan pengenalan pemahaman huruf Hijaiyah pada siswa kelas 1 MI Al Huda Karanggetas Purworejo. Dengan besar peningkatan di siklus 1 adalah sebesar 53% dan besar peningkatan di siklus 2 adalah sebesar 82%. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian pengenalan huruf hijaiyah dengan metode UMMI melalui media Flascard efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengenali dan memahami huruf hijaiyah pada siswa kelas 1 MI Al Huda Karanggetas Pituruh Purworejo.

Abstract

Connotative meaning refers to additional meaning that arises through social, cultural and psychological associations beyond the conceptual meaning of a word or expression. n Acehnese and broader Malay society, indirect language remains prevalent, including in literary works such as Cara Ia Membangunkan Aku by Musmarwan Abdullah. This study aims to describe and analyse the forms of connotative meaning found in the short story Cara Ia Membangunkan Aku. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a semantic analysis. The research data consists of words, phrases, and sentences containing connotative meaning in the short story. Data collection techniques were carried out through intensive reading, note-taking, and analysis based on Geoffrey Leech’s theory of connotative meaning. The results of the study indicate the presence of 19 instances of connotative meaning, comprising 7 metaphors, 1 metonymy, 6 sarcasms, and 5 forms of politeness. Metaphors are the most dominant form and are frequently used to describe the psychological state of characters, life experiences, and social relationships. In addition to serving as an aesthetic element, the use of connotative meaning also reflects cultural values, politeness, and the implicit nature of Acehnese communication. Connotative meaning in the short story Cara Ia Membangunkan Aku plays a significant role in enriching meaning, building linguistic aesthetics, and representing the cultural identity of the Acehnese people. The dominance of metaphors demonstrates the strong use of figurative language as a means of conveying messages and reflecting the social life of the Malay community.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that can cause various complications, such as neuropathy, retinopathy, and nephropathy, due to sorbitol accumulation through the polyol pathway. The aldose reductase enzyme plays an important role in this process and is therefore a potential therapeutic target in preventing diabetes complications. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of oxadiazole-based benzothiazole derivative compounds as aldose reductase inhibitors through molecular docking studies and pharmacokinetic analysis. This study was conducted in silico using Molecular Operating Environment (MOE) 2019.0102 software. Molecular docking simulations were performed on the aldose reductase protein (PDB ID: 4JIR) and then analyzed based on binding affinity values, RMSD, ligand–protein interactions, and evaluation of Lipinski’s Rule of Five using SwissADME. The docking validation results showed an RMSD value of 1.279 Å, indicating that the docking method used was valid. The docking results showed that all ligands had good binding energy values in the range of −7.97 to −8.81 kcal/mol. Compounds 1j, 1m, 1d, 1o, and 1n showed the best binding affinity and stable interactions with important residues, such as ASP43, TRP111, TYR209, and SER210. Pharmacokinetic evaluation showed that most compounds met Lipinski’s Rule of Five, indicating good drug-likeness properties. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that oxadiazole-based benzothiazole derivative compounds have the potential to be developed as aldose reductase inhibitor candidates to support further development of antidiabetic therapy. These findings imply the use of an in silico approach as an initial strategy for more efficient screening of antidiabetic compound candidates.
