Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of a phenomenon that has problems related to the inability to adjust to the new students of the Roudhotul Mutaallimat Islamic Boarding School, Jabon Porong Sidoarjo, which is characterized by these students whining to their parents to go home, not obeying the rules in the Islamic boarding school, even until ran away from the boarding school because the santri did not feel at home in the boarding school, this data was obtained by researchers through interviews and observations in the boarding school environment. This study aims to determine the Self-Adjustment of New Santri Pondok Pesantren Roudhotul Mutaallimat Jabon Porong in terms of self-regulation and self-acceptance. The sample in this study were 79 new students. The sampling technique was carried out by saturated sampling. The data collection in this study used three psychological scales with a Likert scale model, namely the self-adjustment scale, self-regulation scale and self-acceptance scale. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression correlation statistical test techniques. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between self-regulation and self-acceptance with adjustment to new students at the Roudhotul Mutaallimat Islamic Boarding School, Jabon Porong, with a correlation coefficient of 0.363 for self-regulation and 0.540 for self-acceptance with each significance of 0.001 > 0.05. The determinant coefficient test also shows a result of 0.300 (R square) which explains that this research variable self-regulation and self-acceptance has an effective effect of 30% on self-adjustment. The test results indicate that the hypothesis can be accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and provide an explanation of the job satisfaction of employees of CV El. Capitano Sidoarjo. This research method is descriptive quantitative with the subject of all employees CV. El Capitano Sidoarjo, totaling 67 employees. Determination of the subject using a saturated sampling technique where the researcher uses the entire existing population. The variable in this study is job satisfaction. The data collection in this study used a psychological preparation scale, namely the Likert scale for the job satisfaction variable made by the researcher. Analysis of the data in this study using Microsoft Excel. The results of data analysis show that job satisfaction of employees at CV El Capitano Sidoarjo is in the medium category with a percentage value of 57% indicating that employees of CV. El Capitano Sidoarjo is satisfied with the work they do.

Abstract

This study addresses the pervasive issue of academic anxiety among undergraduates completing their theses, focusing on the Faculty of Psychology and Education at a prominent university. With a sample of 200 students, drawn using accidental sampling, the research explores the relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety. Self-efficacy was measured using a scale encompassing magnitude, strength, and generality, while academic anxiety was assessed through emotional, cognitive, and physical dimensions. Employing Rank Spearman correlation and SPSS 25.0, the analysis revealed a significant negative correlation (ρxy = -0.186, p < 0.05), underscoring the inverse connection between self-efficacy and academic anxiety during thesis work. These findings emphasize the potential of bolstering self-efficacy to mitigate academic anxiety, offering insights for educational institutions and practitioners to foster more confident and less anxious thesis pursuits. Highlights: Significant Relationship: The study uncovers a noteworthy negative relationship (ρxy = -0.186, p < 0.05) between self-efficacy and academic anxiety among students engaged in thesis work. Multi-Dimensional Assessment: Self-efficacy and academic anxiety were assessed through scales encompassing various dimensions, offering a comprehensive perspective on the interplay between these factors. Implications for Education: The findings underscore the potential of enhancing self-efficacy to alleviate academic anxiety during thesis pursuits, suggesting practical strategies for educational institutions to better support students in their research endeavors. Abstract

This study explores how self-efficacy influences academic self-adjustment among new students in the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. Using quantitative correlational research, we analyzed data from 354 students, with a sample size of 181 determined through the Krejcie-Morgan table. The self-efficacy and academic self-adjustment scales showed high reliability (Cronbach's alpha scores of 0.830 and 0.825, respectively). Results from simple linear regression indicated a positive relationship between self-efficacy and academic self-adjustment, with self-efficacy contributing significantly to 8.2% of the variance. This highlights the importance of bolstering self-efficacy beliefs to aid new students in their academic adaptation during the college transition, particularly in psychology and education faculties. Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between self-efficacy, self-control, and academic procrastination among students in the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo (UMSIDA). Utilizing a quantitative correlational design, data from 327 participants were collected using three psychological scales previously tested for reliability and validity on a sample of 30 individuals. Results from multiple linear regression analysis show that both self-efficacy and self-control significantly predict academic procrastination, collectively explaining 45.8% of the variance, with self-efficacy contributing 24% and self-control 21%. Understanding these dynamics has implications for targeted interventions to mitigate academic procrastination and enhance student success and well-being in this academic context. Abstract

Efisiensi belajar di sekolah adalah perihal penting dalam mewujudkan visi misi sekolah yang berhubungan dengan siswa dan mata pelajaran. Sekolah memiliki harapan bahwa pendidikan bias efisien dan efektif terhadap semua siswa dengan kemandirian belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan  mengetahui secara empiris peranan kemandirian belajar terhadap performansi akademik siswa kelas tinggi SD Negeri Anggaswangi 1. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SD Negeri Anggaswangi 1 (N=103). Sampling jenuh digunkana dalam penelitian. Skala psikolopgi  dalam metode kuantitatif. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regresi menggunakan JASP versi 0.17.   Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima yaitu kemandirian belajar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap performansi akademik. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kemandirian belajar berpengaruh positif  terhadap performansi akademik siswa kelas tinggi SD Negeri Anggawaswangi 1.

Abstract

The study aims to determine whether counseling based on Al-Fatihah psychology can reduce student academic stress due to the covid-19 pandemic. This experimental pre-post design study comprises the experimental and control groups. The participants are 23 people selected using the purposive sampling method. The experimental group consisted of 11 people and was given treatment in counseling based on Al-Fatihah psychology for 4 weeks in 5 sessions. The academic stress scale was given to both groups as a pre-test before the treatment started in the experimental group. In contrast, the academic stress scale was given as a post-test after the last session. The data analysis's result using the Mann-Whitney U test on the gain score between the experimental and control groups showed a significant difference with p (0.022) <0.05. This indicates that counseling based on Al-Fatihah psychology effectively reduced students' academic stress levels during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and career decision making 12th grade students at Vocational high school YPM 8 Sidoarjo. This type of research uses quantitative with a correlational approach. The variable in this study is self-efficacy as the independent variable and career decision making as the dependent variable. The research was conducted at Vocational high school YPM 8 Sidoarjo with a total population of 382 students. The sample in this study were 242 students using the convenience sampling technique. The data collection technique uses a psychological scale, namely the self-efficacy scale and the career decision-making scale, both of which are in the form of a Likert scale. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy and career decision making 12th grade students at Vocational high school YPM 8 Sidoarjo. Data analysis was carried out using the Product Moment correlation technique using the SPSS 25 for windows program. The results of data analysis show a correlation coefficient of 0.300 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. This indicates that the hypothesis is accepted, which means that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and career decision making. The magnitude of the effect on this variable is 0.300 which is classified as moderate. The limitations of the problems studied in this study are limited to the problem of making career decisions in 12th grade students at Vocational high school YPM 8 Sidoarjo with self-efficacy as a factor to dig deeper information about career decision making.

Abstract

Self-efficacy and learning achievement are very important for every student to have in the learning process. When students have high self-efficacy, students will have power or ease in the learning process. There are difficulties in carrying out learning which include a lack of confidence when presenting in front of the class, easily discouraged when finding difficult assignments and cheating behavior when repeating. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and learning achievement in SMK YPM 8 Sidoarjo. The sample in this study was 129 students majoring in electrical engineering. The data collection technique used the self-efficacy and learning achievement scales using the Likert scale method. The reliability of the self-efficacy scale was tested using the saturated sampling technique and the results obtained from the 19 item reliability yield values were 0.825. The analysis technique used in this study is the Pearson correlation technique assisted by jasp 0.14.1.0 for windows. The results of the analysis of the data obtained with significance (p = 0.072 > 0.05), the hypothesis is accepted, which means that there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy and student achievement in the electrical department of SMK YPM 8 Sidoarjo.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of academic procrastination experienced by students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-monitoring and academic procrastination in students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. This research belongs to the type of quantitative research with a correlational approach. The population in this study amounted to 1257 students, so from the calculation using the krejcie Morgan formula the sample used was 297 students who were taken using stratified random sampling technique. Data collection in this study used two psychological scales, namely the self-monitoring scale from the self-monitoring aspect and the academic procrastination scale from the academic procrastination aspect. Data analysis in this study used Spearman's Correlations and the analysis process used the help of the JASP program version 0.13.1.0 for windows. The results showed that the value of r = -0.163 and the value of p = 0.005 where 0.005 <0.05, which means that there is a negative relationship between self-monitoring variables and academic procrastination in students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo.
