Abstract

Health is an important factor in efforts to develop Human Resources (HR), including education. This is due to the large amount of disease data that occur in school-age children (ages 610) such as intestinal worms (60-80%) based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and dental caries (74%). Based on the results of observations that have been made at SDN Gerendong 1 and SDN Gerendong 2, most students are still littering due to the unavailability of rubbish bins, in addition to the unavailability of school canteens and a place to wash hands, making the PHBS activities in the school has not been carried out properly. PHBS is a strategy used to create independence in creating and achieving health and is a behavior that is applied based on awareness. This study aims to provide knowledge about PHBS in Gerendong 1 SDN and Gerendong 2 SDN Koroncong District. The study population was students in grades 3 and 4 elementary schools with a total of 120 students. Data analysis used the results of the pretest and posttest and the percentage statistical method. The results showed that as many as 111 students or 93% were able to sort waste properly and as many as 113 students or 94% were able to wash their hands properly and correctly from the total number of students. Based on these data all students both SDN 1 Gerendong and SDN 2 Grerendong can already understand the material that has been given and can practice it correctly. Abstract

Bathrooms and toilets are very much needed by the community. Cipapais is located at the end of Kadumerak Village, Pandeglang Regency which does not yet have good sanitation facilities. Residents around still doing bathing, washing, and toilet facilities in the river. The river used for these activities has been polluted by domestic waste water and garbage. In addition, many residents practice latrines in the irrigation stream. These things can cause disease. The design of MCK installation design is done by calculation according to SNI. The MCK planning procedure is actually standardized and there are three important facilities, bathroom facilities, washing facilities, and latrine facilities. The purpose of this community service activity is the design of the Toilet Washing Toilet (MCK) in Cipapais Village, Kadumerak Village, Karangtanjung District, Pandeglang Prefecture. This research was conducted in July 2019 in Kadumerak Village, Karang Tanjung District, Pandeglang Prefecture.This calculation assumes that the needs of people for MCK are 400 people with an average of 40 liters / person / year of sludge generated and waste water produced is 10 liters / person / day. The capacity for collecting mud is 32,000 liters. The minimum holding time requirement for precipitation is 0.42. The need for holding water capacity is 1,680 m3. The volume of communal septic tanks produced 33.68 m3. From these results, the height, width and length of the septic tank are 2 meters high, 2.9 meters wide and 5.8 meters long. Abstract

The design of the Cipapais Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TWDS) in Kadumerak village, Karang Tanjung district, Pandeglang aims to solve the waste problem in Cipapais Village through regular and efficient waste management by applying household scale of waste sorting. The TWDS is made based on research on the generation and composition of waste in Cipapais Village. This research is conducted for eight days by measuring the weight and volume of waste which collected from houses and shops (nonhome). The results showed that Cipapais TWDS needs an area of 27 m2 . The TWDS is equipped with a warehouse, sorting room, and a garbage disposal place equipped with a container foundation. Trash every home is scheduled to be transported using two hand carts to TWDS every day. TWDS waste is scheduled to be moved twice a week to Bangkonol Final Processing Site (FPS) using one unit of 6 m3 dump truck. The design of the existing TWDS is expected to be realized by continuous communication between Kadumerak Village, Environment Service of Pandeglang and the Cipapais Village community. Abstract

The road will decrease the level of service over time. The decreasing level of road services will be marked by damage to the road. Damage that occurs also varies in each segment along the road. Therefore, an evaluation of the extent of road damage is needed. Evaluation results can be presented in map form. Mapping the level of road damage is done by comparing two methods, namely the DGH method and the Geographic Information System (GIS) method. The results of the study show that most of the Kelurahan Kadumerak roads have a mild level of damage. The total length of the road with the level of severe damage is 0.31 km or equivalent to 2.25% of all roads in Kadumerak Village. The road is an asphalt road with pavement conditions which are full of damage in the form of road holes. The road is located in Lebak Seureuh village. On the other hand, a non-pavement road in Kadumerak Village has a total length of 1.19 km. We recommend that the roads in Cipapais Hilir and Kampung Kota Manik be included in the kelurahan development program. Further surveys need to be done to re-measure the dimensions of the road that will be repaired more accurately. Keywords: Bina Marga method, road damage, road mapping

Abstract

Pemetaan lahan pertanian merupakan kegiatan survei untuk menentukan posisi satu atau beberapa titik terhadap titik lainnya sehingga tercipta lahan pertanian atau tempat kegiatan budidaya tanaman yang baik dan rapi. Perubahan kondisi suatu wilayah yang cepat mengakibatkan perlunya kecepatan dan ketepatan dalam proses pemetaan suatu wilayah untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi perbaikan serta proses pengembangan suatu wilayah. Pemetaan lahan dilakukan dengan metode remote sensing dan pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Pemetaan lahan pertanian dilakukan di Desa Sukadamai, Kecamatan Dramaga, Kabupaten Bogor, Provinsi Jawa Barat menggunakan Global Stationing System (GPS), aplikasi GPS Data, Google Earth, ArcGIS, dan juga didukung oleh data hasil pemetaan sebelumnya. Pemetaan ini bertujuan mengetahui potensi komoditas tanaman di Desa Sukadamai beserta luas lahannya, serta membandingkannya dengan data tahun 2017. Pemetaan ini menggunakan pendekatan metode kualitatif dengan pemetaan langsung di lapangan. Hasil pemetaan lahan yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya perubahan singnifikan komoditas yang dikembangkan di lokasi, seperti berkurangnya komoditas ubi jalar dari 91,15 ha menjadi 26,64 ha.

Abstract

Plastic is widely used because it is light, strong, and stable. However, plastic will produce waste that is difficult to decompose. One effective way to manage plastic waste is to recycle it into plastic pellets. Besides being used as a raw material for making recycled plastic, plastic pellets can be used as a substitute for fine aggregate. The compressive strength test of plastic concrete decreases compressive strength. It is due to plastic’s slippery surface, which weakens the bond between plastic and cement matrix. Calcite deposition using Soybean Crude Urease Calcite Precipitation (SCU-CP) method is expected to provide a solution. This study discussed the effect of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic pellets on concrete strength as the fine aggregate substitution. In addition, the impact of calcite on concrete with HDPE plastic substitution was also evaluated in this study. The results show that plastic substitution decreases the strength of concrete. On the other hand, adding calcite can improve compressive strength compared to plastic concrete without SCU-CP. The optimum compressive strength was obtained with a variation of 1% plastic and 5% SCU-CP, which increased 7.5% and 2.8% higher compared to the normal concrete and plastic concrete without calcite, respectively. This study elucidated that the adding SCU-CP method to plastic concrete has a great potential to optimize the concrete strength.

Abstract

Due to its high organic matter, moisture content, and low bearing capacity, peat soil needs to be stabilized for use as a subgrade. The soybean crude urease calcite precipitation (SCU-CP) method is a grouting technique using carbonate precipitation and soybean as a biocatalyst. This study aims to analyze the effect of the SCU-CP method and soil density on the California bearing ratio (CBR) value to obtain the best stabilization alternative for reducing the field’s compaction energy. The CBR test was conducted in both soaked and unsoaked conditions. The study was conducted with variations of 50%, 70%, and 90% density of Standard Proctor and used grouting treatment with a combination of optimum SCU-CP solution for the treated samples. The results showed a significant increase in CBR, with an average increase of more than two times compared to untreated samples. In terms of compaction effort, a density of 70% Proctor in unsoaked conditions with SCU-CP treatment is the best alternative. However, considering the soil saturation level and the swelling of the subgrade layer, 90% proctor density with SCU-CP treatment can be recommended as a stabilization method without dewatering. Abstract

Beton sebagai bahan konstruksi terus meningkat penggunaannya karena kuat tekannya yang tinggi dan mudah dalam pengerjaannya. Pengelolaan sampah plastik menjadi persoalan karena plastik sulit untuk diuraikan secara alami. Subtitusi plastik saja tidak dapat dilakukan pada beton, sehingga diperlukan tambahan lain untuk mempertahankan kekuatan beton. Soybean crude urease calcite precipitation (SCU-CP) dijadikan sebagai alternatif pemecahan masalah dengan menggunakan kedelai sebagai pengganti enzim urease yang dapat meningkatkan kekuatan tanah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode SCU-CP untuk menutupi rongga-rongga kecil antara plastik dan agregat serta memperkuat ikatannya dengan pembentukan kalsit. Oleh karena itu diperlukan evaluasi pengaruh subtitusi plastik serta penambahan larutan kalsit terhadap kuat tekan dan tegangan-regangan beton. Sampel beton direncanakan memiliki kuat tekan 20,75 MPa dengan mutu K-250. Subtitusi cacahan plastik highdensity polyethylene (HDPE) menurunkan kuat tekan beton 5,5% dan 8,2% pada subtitusi 1% dan 5%. Semakin banyak agregat halus yang disubtitusi semakin menurun kuat tekan beton plastik. Subtitusi plastik menyebabkan tegangan menurun dan beton menjadi lebih lentur. Penambahan kalsit pada beton plastik dapat meningkatkan kuat tekan beton hingga 44%. Kalsit dapat mengisi rongga-rongga kecil pada beton plastik, semakin banyak larutan kalsit yang ditambahkan pada beton artinya banyak endapan kalsit yang terbentuk antara plastik dan beton. Penambahan kalsit meningkatkan tegangan pada regangan yang sama. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari kurva yang semakin tegak yang artinya modulus elastisitas meningkat dan mutu beton semakin baik.

Abstract

Kedelai merupakan alternatif penggunaan enzim urease murni komersial dalam metode calcite precipitation. Ukuran butiran tepung kedelai merupakan salah satu faktor penting karena berpengaruh terhadap jumlah material yang tidak terlarut dan selanjutnya terhadap reaksi pembentukan kalsit. Tepung kedelai yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini telah diayak dengan saringan No. 300 (50 μm), No. 150 (100 μm), dan No. 75 (200 μm) dan bagian yang tertahan di setiap saringan digunakan dalam penelitian. Larutan tepung kedelai dengan konsentrasi sebanyak 20 g/L digunakan dan disaring melalui saringan No. 400 (40 μm), untuk mendapatkan ekstrak. Pasir Bangka digunakan sebagai sampel tanah pasir dan memiliki koefisien keseragaman sebesar 1.53. Evaluasi kemudian dilakukan dengan mengggunakan tiga parameter yaitu pengendapan kalsit, laju hidrolisis urea, dan evaluasi calcite content menggunakan asam klorida. Berdasarkan uji pengendapan kalsit dengan menggunakan tabung, semakin kecil ukuran biji kedelai, semakin banyak bahan tak terlarut yang dihasilkan. Rasio presipitasi kalsit dan massa kalsit yang diendapkan optimum tercapai pada ukuran butiran kedelai 100 μm. Laju hidrolisis tertinggi terjadi pada ukuran butiran kedelai 50 μm pada 752 U/g. Persentase kalsit tertinggi di dalam sampel terbentuk pada sampel dengan ukuran butiran kedelai 50 μm dengan persentase massa kalsit sebesar 0.60% atau setara dengan 43.81 kPa. Berdasarkan parameter yang dievaluasi, tepung kedelai dengan ukuran 50 μm memiliki hasil terbaik dan penurunan ukuran butiran tepung kedelai sejalan dengan peningkatan kekuatan tanah pasir.

Abstract

Liquefaction is a process in which pore-water pressure generated in the soil, usually by earthquake, is equal or almost equal to the total stress in the soil. This process reduces the effective stress to zero or near-zero, leading to reduction in shear strength and stiffness of soil. Hence, when liquefaction occurs, structures above and within the liquified soil, buildings, bridges, tunnels, docks, underground pipelines, and many other structures can get damaged. Soils which are susceptible to liquefaction are granular soil such as sand and silt. One of the methods that can be adopted to prevent liquefaction is soybean crude urease-calcite precipitation. This method uses urease enzyme in soybean crude as a biocatalyst to hydrolyze urea to produce carbonate ions and ammonium ions. In the presence of calcium ions, the carbonate ions react to produce calcium carbonate (calcite) precipitate. This research investigates the applicability of soybean crude urease-calcite precipitation method to improve various liquefiable sandy soil (fine, medium, coarse sand) at different relative density (40-60%). The soil strength after improvement was evaluated by using unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test, while calcite content was measured using acid leaching method. The results of the UCS test and calcite content analysis varies depending on the type of sand and relative density. The UCS value obtained from medium sand is higher than 50 kPa, potentially sufficient to prevent liquefaction. However, treatment on coarse sand failed to develop UCS, whereas treatment on fine sand produces limited UCS (< 10 kPa).
