Abstract

The main question in this research is how the shop signs owned by Chinese and Indigenous Indonesian communities in Ruteng represent ethnic identity and cultural values, reflect multicultural dynamics, and illustrate the process of acculturation within the public space. The objective of this research is to describe the forms of language representation used in the shop signs owned by Chinese and Indigenous Indonesian communities in Ruteng; to identify the cultural values reflected in the language choices and visual appearances of the shop signs; and to analyze how multicultural dynamics and cultural acculturation processes are manifested in the linguistic landscape of Ruteng City. This research used a qualitative approach, utilizing methods of observation, photography, interviews, content analysis, and literature study. The data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis techniques. The research results show that Indigenous Indonesian store owners tend to choose names and colors based on personal preferences and the concept of modernity. In contrast, Chinese store owners preserve cultural values by selecting names that carry meanings of luck, harmony, and feng shui principles. Chinese ethnic stores tend to have symbolic functions, whereas Indigenous Indonesian stores tend to be informative. The language used in Chinese ethnic stores is monolingual, while Indigenous Indonesian stores use both monolingual and bilingual languages. The multicultural dynamics, viewed through the lens of the linguistic landscape in Ruteng, show an acculturation process characterized by harmonious social integration, where cultural identity is preserved without constraining social interaction. Ruteng City emerges as an example of inclusive and dynamic multiculturalism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang penggunaan eufemisme dan disfemisme yang terdapat dalam teks editorial siswa kelas XII MIPA di SMAN 1 Abiansemal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan bentuk dan makna bentuk eufemisme dan disfemisme serta hal yang melatarbelakangi penggunaan Eufemisme dan Disfemisme dalam teks editorial siswa kelas XII MIPA di SMAN 1 Abiansemal. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teks editorial dan siswa kelas XII MIPA SMAN 1 Abiansemal, sedangkan objek yang digunakan adalah eufemisme dan disfemisme. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi dan wawancara dengan menggunakan intstrumen kartu data dan pedoman wawancara. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga bentuk eufemisme dan dua bentuk disfemisme yang digunakan siswa kelas XII MIPA SMAN 1 Abiansemal dalam menulis teks editorial. Adapun bentuk eufemisme yang ditemukan ialah singkatan sebanyak 9 data, kata sebanyak 31 data, dan frasa sebanyak 16 data, dengan jumlah data sebanyak 56 data. Adapun bentuk disfemisme yang ditemukan ialah kata sebanyak 25 data dan frasa sebanyak 13 data dengan total 38 data. Dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan manfaat pada peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, terutama dalam pembelajaran menulis agar dapat memilah kata yang tepat dan menarik minat pembaca

Abstract

Having highly motivated teachers is vital for effective teaching in foreign language classroom. Nevertheless, burnout may impair teachers' performance and negatively impact how they engage with students. The current study aimed at investigating the level of burnout among EFL teachers in Indonesia. This study was a mixed method study followed by forty-five EFL teachers who are currently teaching in high school level. Using Maslach Burnout Inventory Educators Survey, it was found 57.8% of participants responded they felt high levels of emotional exhaustion, followed by moderate levels (31.1%) and high levels (11.1%). Comparably, approximately 17.8% of the teachers felt they were not depersonalized, compared to 37.8% who felt it was moderate and 44.4% who felt it was extreme. High level of burnout was experienced by teachers with less than five years of teaching experience. Low to moderate level of burnout was found in teachers with more than five years experiences. Regression analysis found that length of experience significantly influences EFL teachers’ level of burnout (Sig. <.05). A further interview confirmed the factor that caused burnout among teachers such as teaching administration, adapting with technology, and dealing with misbehave students. This study highlighted the importance of addressing teachers’ burnout level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode pembelajaran Think, Pair, Share (TPS) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis mahasiswa. Metode TPS dirancang untuk mendorong kolaborasi dan partisipasi aktif di antara mahasiswa melalui tahapan berpikir secara individu, berpasangan, dan berbagi ide. Studi ini dilakukan di sebuah perguruan tinggi dengan melibatkan 60 mahasiswa dari program studi Bahasa dan Sastra. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes keterampilan menulis sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode, serta melalui kuesioner untuk mengukur respons mahasiswa terhadap metode pembelajaran yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan menulis mahasiswa setelah diterapkannya metode TPS, dengan rata-rata nilai tes menulis meningkat dari 70 menjadi 85. Selain itu, mayoritas mahasiswa menyatakan bahwa metode ini membantu mereka lebih memahami materi dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dalam mengekspresikan ide-ide mereka. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode TPS efektif dalam menstimulus keterampilan menulis mahasiswa, serta dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif di lingkungan pendidikan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan metode serupa dalam mata kuliah lain untuk meningkatkan interaksi dan partisipasi mahasiswa

Abstract

This study aims to develop an integrative learning model that combines drama texts in Indonesian language instruction with Social Studies material on local historical events, in order to enhance students' creativity, cultural understanding, and character. The model is designed based on the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes project-based, collaborative, and student-centered learning. The method used is qualitative descriptive, employing a literature review and classroom-based learning design approach. The results of the study show that integrating local history into drama learning encourages students to think critically, express ideas creatively, and understand local cultural values. The learning syntax is developed through the stages of experiencing, conceptualizing, analyzing, producing, networking, applying, comparing, and synthesizing. In addition to improving writing and performance skills, the model also strengthens the Pancasila Student Profile through activities that touch on spiritual, social, and cognitive dimensions. This study concludes that integrative drama learning based on local history is an innovative approach relevant to shaping a creative, reflective, and character-driven generation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop innovative Japanese language learning by utilizing shadowing techniques to improve listening skills in Japanese language center class students. Teaching techniques/methods are essential in improving students' motivation to learn, especially in foreign language learning. The shadowing technique, which integrates audio and visual elements, is applied. This study involved a series of experiments involving students as research subjects, which were then evaluated through listening ability tests before and after using the shadowing technique. The study results showed a significant increase in students' listening skills, as measured by aspects of understanding and response speed to the material presented. The results of the increase in Listening Ability were obtained, and the analysis of the average pre-test score of students was 67, while the average post-test score increased to 80. This result shows a significant increase in the values obtained, indicating that shadowing effectively improves students' listening skills. Student feedback: Based on the questionnaire, 86.5% of students reported that the shadowing technique made them more interested and involved in learning. 90% of students agreed that the learning experience with the shadowing technique helped them understand the Japanese language context better. Moreover, Qualitative Interview: From the interview, students stated that they enjoyed activities that involved listening to dialogues in real situations, such as everyday conversations and cultural contexts. These findings are expected to contribute to developing more effective, interesting Japanese language learning methods, increasing interest in learning Japanese, and encouraging the use of technology in language education.

Abstract

21st-century education requires students not only to understand content but also to be able to think critically and solve problems. Innovation in learning strategies is needed to increase student engagement and understanding. The flipped classroom learning model is here to overcome this. The flipped classroom-based learning model is a student-centered learning model that increases learning effectiveness. Thus, it is necessary to conduct a study on the flipped classroom learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study aimed to determine the results of a literature review study on implementing the flipped classroom model in Indonesian language learning. The SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method was chosen in this study. Data was collected by documenting and reviewing all articles on Indonesian language learning outcomes with the flipped classroom learning model. A total of 10 articles in the last 5 years obtained from Google Scholar and other sources were used in this study. Based on the literature review, there is an increase in students' critical thinking with the application of the flipped classroom model in Indonesian language learning. This is due to supporting factors: using the flipped classroom learning model and interactive learning media. Implementing the flipped classroom learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning. Educators can use this model as a learning innovation to achieve learning objectives quickly.

Abstract

Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  kemampuan  menulis  cerpen  siswa  kelas  SMK  Ulil  Albab  NW  Gegek tahun  pelajaran  2024/2025.  Metode  yang  digunakan  dalam  penelitian  ini  adalah  penelitian  deskriptif  kualitatif.  Sumber  data  yang  digunakan  dalam  penelitian  ini  adalah  20  karangan  cerpen  siswa  kelas X DKV SMK  Ulil  Albab  NW  Gegek dan  guru  mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.  Metode  pengumpulan  data  yang  digunakan  dalam  penelitian  ini  adalah  lembar  observasi.  Subjek  penelitian  ini  adalah  siswa  kelas  X  DKV SMK Ulil Albab NW Gegek.  Dari  20  sempel  siswa.  Berdasarkan  hasil  analisis  data  kemampuan  menulis  cerpen  dalam  kualifikasi  baik  sekali  sebanyak  4  siswa  (20%).  Kemampuan  menulis  cerpen  dalam  kualifikasi  baik  sebanyak  6  siswa  (30%).  Kemampuan  menulis  cerpen  dalam  kualifikasi  cukup  sebanyak  8  siswa  (40%).  Kemampuan  menulis  cerpen  dalam  kualifikasi  kurang  sebanyak  2 siswa  (10%).  Dengan  demikian  sesuai  dengan  perhitungan  rata-rata  nilai,  dapat  disimpulkan  bahwa  kemampuan  menulis  cerpen  siswa  kelas X DKV  SMK  Ulil  Albab  NW  Gegek  dengan  nilai  rata-rata  68,2  berkualifikasi  cukup.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis naskah drama menuangkan kearifan lokal satua Sasambo dengan kerangka kerja Viral sehingga tidak ada miskonsepsi terhadap aktivitas menulis yang dianggap menjemukan di sekolah, penelitian ini juga dapat membantu peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap unsur intrinsik drama, serta batasan bahan ajar yang relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa.Selain itu, dapat membantu melestarikan kearifan lokal seperti sastra tua ( Satua ) Sasambo yang mulai terwujud oleh generasi muda, padahal memiliki nilai pendidikan karakter yang signifikan. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, penelitian ini menguraikan masalah mengenai bagaimana rancang bangun pengembangan bahan ajar menulis naskah drama dengan kerangka kerja VIRAL ( Valid, Institusional, Reflektif, Aktif, dan Literer ) menghasilkan kearifan lokal Satua Sasambo di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan ( Research and Development ) yang mengadaptasi Model 4-D ( Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate ) dari Thiagarajan.Lokasi penelitian akan dilakukan di salah satu sekolah jenjang SMA di Kota Mataram dengan subjek siswa yang mewakili suku Sasak, Samawa, dan Mbojo. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi studi dokumentasi, observasi, wawancara, dan tes pemahaman awal. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rancang bangun bahan ajar berupa modul penulisan naskah drama yang mengintegrasikan situasi didaktis (aksi, reaksi, validasi, dan institusionalisasi) melalui kerangka kerja VIRAL.Implementasi kearifan lokal Sasambo dalam materi dan evaluasi untuk proses belajar ( Learning Obstacle ), meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS), serta membangkitkan budaya pada siswa.Pengembangan ini memberikan kontribusi pada penyediaan media pembelajaran yang efektif, efektif, dan berkelanjutan dalam bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Penguasaan kosakata teknis perairan merupakan kompetensi penting bagi mahasiswa perikanan dalam mendukung pemahaman literatur, praktik akademik, dan kesiapan kerja di bidang perikanan. Namun, pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris bidang perairan sering menghadapi kendala berupa rendahnya motivasi dan keterlibatan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi game edukasi Baamboozle dalam pembelajaran serta pengaruhnya terhadap penguasaan kosakata teknis perairan mahasiswa perikanan. Penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan mixed-method, dimana subjeknya adalah mahasiswa perikanan yang mengikuti mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi pembelajaran, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Baamboozle mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif mahasiswa, membantu pemahaman makna kosakata teknis perairan, serta menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Dengan demikian, Baamboozle dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif yang efektif dalam pembelajaran kosakata teknis perairan berbasis ESP.
