Abstract

The introduction of a modern image recognition that has millions of parameters and requires a lot of training data as well as high computing power that is hungry for energy consumption so it becomes inefficient in everyday use. Machine Learning has changed the computing paradigm, from complex calculations that require high computational power to environmentally friendly technologies that can efficiently meet daily needs. To get the best training model, many studies use large numbers of datasets. However, the complexity of large datasets requires large devices and requires high computing power. Therefore large computational resources do not have high flexibility towards the tendency of human interaction which prioritizes the efficiency and effectiveness of computer vision. This study uses the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) method with MobileNet architecture for image recognition on mobile devices and embedded devices with limited resources with ARM-based CPUs and works with a moderate amount of training data (thousands of labeled images). As a result, the MobileNet v1 architecture on the ms8pro device can classify the caltech101 dataset with an accuracy rate 92.4% and 2.1 Watt power draw. With the level of accuracy and efficiency of the resources used, it is expected that MobileNet's architecture can change the machine learning paradigm so that it has a high degree of flexibility towards the tendency of human interaction that prioritizes the efficiency and effectiveness of computer vision.

Abstract

The Infant Mortality Rate and Toddler Mortality Rate are still relatively high in Indonesia. Data from the South Sumatra Health Office shows a relatively high number of infant and toddler mortality cases in Banyuasin and Musi Banyuasin Regency, with about 68 and 51 cases in 2017. Through the Program Kerja Sama (PKS) of the Family Health Directorate of the Health Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Public Health Faculty of Sriwijaya University, it was found that the problems related to these were triggered by the absence of an instrument in digital form to conduct reviews about infant and toddler issues of mortality at Health Facilities, which were expected to assist in recording and reporting the review process runs more effectively and efficiently. This research uses the User-Centered Design (UCD) method because it optimizes the application prototype according to the needs and desires of the end-user, which in this case is the health worker in the Health Facilities in Banyuasin and Musi Banyuasin Regency. The UCD method phases include understanding the context of use, specifying the user requirements, designing the solutions, and evaluating against requirements. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained that the average usability score is 94, which means that the prototype of this application has been made according to the needs and desires of the end-user, also the prototype of this application is feasible to be implemented.

Abstract

Internet and Web technologies provide students with the ease of communication to lecturers, accessing learning resources, and submitting the assignment. One of that technologies is Blended Learning. Blended learning has been growing in demand and popularity and widely used in the modern higher education system with the implementation of a learning management system (LMS). As a result, Blended Learning generates large amounts of student’s information that can be used to invent valuable patterns and get hidden and useful information. This study analyzed data extracted from a Moodle-based blended learning course in STMIK XYZ that is called SIMPONI and SPON, to build a student model that predicts academic performance. Data Mining Classification Techniques were used to predict it based on Semester GPA. Various factors like demographics, economics and information about previous education are considered in analyzing academic performance. Rapid Miner software package was used for prediction and the result is a model by which could determine academic performance: passed with a CGPA above or equal to 2.5 and failed with a CGPA below 2.5 This model may give information for STMIK XYZ to early intervention and to outcome the poor GPA. Various classification algorithms are used to select the best algorithm in finding the better prediction model.

Abstract

The massive expansion of modern retail such as minimarkets in Palembang City has recently been rampant. The existence of modern retail is now having an impact on traditional retail that has existed before. Many traditional retailers cannot compete with the modern retailers that have grown up around them. From these facts, various studies have been carried out and various solutions have been provided so that the existence of traditional retailers cannot be replaced by modern retailers. There are still many traditional retailers that still survive in this condition. This is interesting to research, especially regarding the factors that affect the income of traditional retailers so that they can survive in selling goods that are actually the same as goods sold in the nearest minimarket. In this study, the concept of knowledge management is used in identifying, creating, explaining, and distributing knowledge for use and re-study by traditional retailers to be able to compete. In this concept, the Nonaka and Takeuchi model of the externalization dimension of knowledge is used, namely the transformation of knowledge from a tacit form to an explicit form. With externalization, tacit knowledge is obtained directly from 32 traditional retailers in Palembang, namely the factors that affect income. The results showed that the dominant factors were two factors, namely the length of the business opening hour and the percentage of product availability desired by the customer. The coefficient of determination is 81.95%, this factor contributes to the income of traditional retail businesses. These results can be disseminated and communicated to other retail business owners so that it becomes a concern in formulating future business strategies.

Abstract

Sentence segmentation that breaks textual data strings into individual sentences is an important phase in natural language processing (NLP). Each word in the string that is added a punctuation mark such as a period, question mark, or exclamation point, becomes the location for splitting the string. Humans can easily see the punctuation and split the string into sentences, but not machines. Basically, the three punctuation marks also perform other functions so that the sentence segmentation process must really be able to detect whether a word marked with punctuation is a sentence boundary or not. This research proposes a sentence segmentation system called segmentasi kalimat bahasa Indonesia (SKBI) or Indonesian language sentence segmentation by applying a set of rules and can be used in Indonesian texts and can be adapted for English. There are 34 rules built with a combination of 27 fairly complete features that contribute to this research. The experimental results for the Indonesian text show that the SKBI is able to achieve an F1-Score of 96.89% and 97.07% for English. Both need to be improved but now better than previous research.

Abstract

Prior to now, the ranking of higher education institutions, particularly those at the Regional II Palembang Higher Education Service Institution, was based on one component of the work unit's criteria. This makes the university ranking results superior on one criterion but inferior on another. The number of instructors and the number of students at 100 universities in the South Sumatra region were split into two groups based on the outcome of the fuzzy c means algorithm grouping and regional criteria and calculated based on the resulting mean value. The grouping results using a topsis algorithm decision-making system with a weight determined by the number of lecturers with functional positions, college accreditation, number of certified lecturers, and percentage level of higher education database reports are used as a reference to rank universities. Based on the mean value of the fuzzy c means algorithm and the grouping results, seven colleges were chosen. Using the topsis method's way of making decisions, the final score for the highest-ranked college is 0.850.
