Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara gender dan berbagai aspek pembelajaran matematika, mencakup keikutsertaan dalam les tambahan, keterlibatan diskusi, kegemaran terhadap matematika, pemahaman materi, math-anxiety, self-efficacy, kebiasaan belajar, dan minat terhadap matematika; di tingkat sekolah menengah di Kota Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei dan pendekatan deskriptif-analitik. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMP kelas VII negeri dan swasta, dengan sampel 1.328 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan stratified random sampling untuk menjamin keterwakilan sekolah. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil analisis Pearson’s chi-squared menunjukkan bahwa gender tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan keikutsertaan dalam les tambahan, diskusi, kegemaran terhadap matematika, pemahaman materi, math-anxiety, maupun self-efficacy. Sebaliknya, gender memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan kebiasaan bertanya, preferensi terhadap penyajian materi berbasis aplikasi, kebiasaan menuliskan kesimpulan dan informasi pada penyelesaian soal, serta minat terhadap matematika. Secara umum, siswa perempuan lebih aktif bertanya dan lebih terorganisir, sedangkan siswa laki-laki lebih menyukai penyajian berbasis aplikasi serta menunjukkan minat yang lebih tinggi terhadap matematika.Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran inklusif yang mempertimbangkan perbedaan gender guna meningkatkan keterlibatan dan efektivitas pembelajaran matematika di tingkat sekolah menengah.

Abstract

Numerical literacy ability is an important 21st century ability possessed by students. Teaching materials that have not integrated these abilities need to be developed. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to examine the needs of LKPD to improve students' numerical literacy ability. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The population used in this study was class VIII SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta, while the sample was class VIII.C SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques in this study used interview techniques, questionnaires, and students' numerical literacy test results. The results of the study showed that: (1) as many as 87% of students were interested if mathematics lessons were packaged in the form of LKPD; (2) based on the numeracy literacy test as many as 69% of students in the medium category and 14% in the low category; (3) as many as 37% of students are embarrassed to ask the teacher about subject matter that is not understood and affects the activity of students in the classroom. In addition, students want the LKPD to be blue and contain material, practice questions, and assignments. This study concludes that teaching materials using LKPD need to be applied to improve students’ numerical literacy ability

Abstract

The development of mathematics e-worksheets focused on forming critical thinking skills for class VII students is still very minimally carried out by teachers. This research is critical to test the effectiveness of guided inquiry-based e-worksheets implemented using the blended learning method in improving students' critical thinking abilities. The type of research was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent pretest-post-test control group design involving two subjects: the experimental group that applied guided inquiry-based e-worksheets and the control group that used other e-worksheets. Each subject group consisted of 18 students from one of the Yogyakarta boarding schools, which became the research population. Research data came from pretest and post-test results collected using critical thinking test instruments developed based on indicators from Facione (2018). Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test followed by an independent sample t-test. The results of data analysis show: (1) there is a significant difference between the pretest and post-test results in the experimental group; (2) there is a significant difference between the results of students' critical thinking tests in the experimental and control groups; and (3) the difference in increasing critical thinking skills of students in the experimental group is higher than students in the control group. These results conclude that applying guided inquiry-based e-worksheets using the blended learning method is more effective than other e-worksheets when viewed from the aspect of increasing students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan modul elektronik berbasis mastery learning efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian true eksperimen dengan desain pretest posttest control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X.E4  sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.E5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, soal pretest dan posttest kemampuan literasi numerasi pada materi persamaan dan pertidaksamaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul elektronik berbasis mastery learning efektif meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Hal ini dikarenakan modul elektronik disajikan berdasarkan sintaks mastery learning yaitu orientasi, penyajian, latihan terstruktur, latihan terbimbing, dan latihan mandiri dan soal-soal yang disajikan juga menstimulus kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa karena disajikan dengan informasi-informasi berbentuk angka, data, dan simbol yang berhubungan dengan matematika. Selain itu, dengan pembelajaran menggunakan modul elektronik siswa dituntut untuk dapat menganalisis berbagai informasi berbentuk grafik, tabel, bagan, dan kemampuan menarik sebuah kesimpulan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan modul elektronik berbasis mastery learning dalam pembelajaran matematika efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa.

Abstract

Siswa memerlukan media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa mengurangi kecemasan matematika dan meningkatkan efikasi diri. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangkan modul untuk mengurangi kecemasan matematika dan meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa pada materi peluang. Penelitian Research and Development ini menggunakan model ADDIE dengan lima tahap pengembangan yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Sumber data dan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah ahli materi, ahli media, guru, dan 1328 siswa dari 24 SMP di Kota Yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dan angket. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan yaitu modul materi peluang untuk mengurangi kecemasan matematis dan meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Pengambilan keputusan kelayakan produk didasarkan pada hasil analisis penilaian dari validator, ahli materi, dan ahli media yang menunjukkan bahwa modul sangat valid dan berpeluang menurunkan kecemasan matematis dan meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa.Students need learning media that can help students reduce mathematics anxiety and increase self-efficacy. The aim of the research is to develop a module to reduce mathematics anxiety and increase students' self-efficacy in opportunity material. This Research and Development research uses the ADDIE model with five development stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data sources and subjects in this research were material experts, media experts, teachers, and 1328 students from 24 junior high schools in Yogyakarta City. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and questionnaires. The results show that the product developed, namely the opportunity material module to reduce mathematical anxiety and increase students' self-efficacy, is suitable for use in mathematics learning. Decision making on product feasibility is based on the results of assessment analysis from validators, material experts and media experts which show that the module is very valid and has the opportunity to reduce mathematical anxiety and increase student self-efficacy.

Abstract

Understanding concepts is an important part of mathematics. However, students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is still relatively low. For this reason, learning media are needed that can strengthen these abilities, such as the educational game QuizWhizzer. QuizWhizzer is a learning media in the form of an interesting, interactive game, prioritizing cooperation and communication, and can create positive interactions between students through games in the learning process. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine students' responses to the learning media in the form of the educational game QuizWhizzer to mathematical concept understanding ability. This study is a descriptive study about the level of student satisfaction in learning using the educational game QuizWhizzer. The instruments used were educational games and student response questionnaires. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Yogyakarta, while the samples were students of class VIII-H and VIII-I. This study concludes that the use of the QuizWhizzer which contains indicators of the ability to understand concepts in the small-scale trial class and large-scale trial class obtains a positive response from students. This result is evidenced by the average score in the small-scale class is 55, while in the large-scale class it is 57. The score is in the Good classification. For this reason, the use of the QuizWhizzer educational game is stated to be practical to use for learning. The results of this study need to be developed on a larger scale considering the different characteristics of students.

Abstract

In learning mathematics, it is required to have problem solving skills and interest in learning mathematics because it can help students achieve better learning achievements. One of the reasons for the low problem solving ability and interest in learning mathematics among students is that the teaching materials still use books. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the need for an Android-based learning application to improve problem solving skills and students' interest in learning mathematics. The research subjects were students of class 10 MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Pengasih. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and distributing questionnaires as well as the results of students' daily tests. This study has several results. First, the learning application is considered interesting for students. Second, the teaching materials used today are considered insufficient to improve problem solving skills and students' interest in learning mathematics. Third, 89% of students are interested if the material is packaged into a learning application. From this study it was concluded that learning applications need to be applied to improve problem solving abilities and students' interest in learning mathematics.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (IRME) learning model. The subjects of this research were 10th grade students at a public high school in Yogyakarta. This type of research uses experimental research with a quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental design. The data collection technique uses a distribution of pretest and posttest questions. The research instrument used was a test sheet. The data analysis used was the normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test. The results of the research show that there is a difference in the average score between the pretest and posttest which shows that there is a significant increase in the average of 33.30. The hypothesis results show a comparison of the tcount and ttable tests, where the tcount value is 26.281 and the ttable value is 2.030. This means that the value of tcount > ttable. This means that the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (IRME) learning model influences students' numeracy abilities.

Abstract

Mitigasi bencana merupakan upaya preventif untuk mengurangi dampak bencana. Kegiatan ini sangat penting untuk disosialisasikan kepada seluruh lapisan masyarakat, termasuk penyandang disabilitas. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan sosialisasi dan simulasi mitigasi bencana gempa bumi di komunitas Difabel Difasari Sedayu Bantul. Pengabdian ini diselenggarakan di SLB G-AB Helen Keller Sedayu dengan peserta 50 orang penyandang disabilitas. Narasumber dalam kegiatan ini adalah Difagana (Disabled Siaga Bencana) DIY. Difagana DIY adalah organisasi yang bertugas memberikan pengetahuan manajemen risiko bencana, proses penyelamatan, dan evakuasi dalam situasi bencana, serta pengetahuan tentang shelter, advokasi sosial, dapur umum, pendampingan sosial dan psikososial kepada penyandang disabilitas. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan simulasi kebencanaan ini telah memenuhi indikator keberhasilan kegiatan karena 80% teman-teman difabel Komunitas Difasari hadir dan dapat mengikuti kegiatan hingga selesai dengan baik. Selain itu, antusiasme mereka dalam mengikuti kegiatan sangat membantu tim pengabdi sehingga kegiatan menjadi kondusif dan lancar.

Abstract

SD Negeri Gungan telah memiliki papan majalah dinding, namun pemanfaatannya belum maksimal. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dalam pembuatan majalah dinding sebagai medium komunikasi di sekolah dan upaya untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui tahap perencanaan hingga implementasi di SD Negeri Gungan yang terletak di Wukir Sari, Cangkringan, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswa di SD Negeri Gungan mampu mengembangkan kreativitas tulisan mereka melalui majalah dinding yang sudah ada. Kreativitas tulisan dibuat dalam bentuk puisi dan sajak dengan tema bebas sesuai kreativitas dan keinginan siswa. Tim layanan memberikan bantuan intensif agar pembuatan majalah dinding oleh siswa-siswa dapat berjalan lancar. Majalah-majalah yang dibuat oleh siswa kemudian dinilai sehingga tim dapat memberikan apresiasi berupa hadiah kepada siswa-siswa yang membuat majalah paling kreatif. Melalui pelatihan pembuatan buletin ini, siswa-siswa dapat belajar bahwa majalah dapat digunakan sebagai medium komunikasi dan dapat menjadi sarana untuk meningkatkan literasi.
