Abstract

This study analyzed the influence of workload and work environment on work stress with incentives as a moderating variable among employees of Bakso Bagito in Serbelawan City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design and saturated sampling technique on the entire population of 38 employees. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The research results show that workload has a positive and significant effect on work stress, while the work environment has a negative but not significant effect. Incentives have been proven to moderate the relationship between workload and work stress, but in a positive direction, thus reinforcing the effect of workload on stress. The Adjusted R-Square value of 0.874 indicates that the independent variables are able to explain the variability of work stress substantially. These findings affirm that workload is a dominant factor affecting work stress, while the role of incentives is complex as they can increase psychological pressure if target-based.

Abstract

Abstract

In Indonesia, the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is driven by high revenues. The background of this study is based on the declining revenue among salted fish entrepreneurs due to fluctuations in raw material costs, unstable raw material availability, and intense competition in the local market. This study aims to analyze the effect of raw material costs, raw material inventory, and the level of competition on the income of salted fish entrepreneurs in Bagan Arya Village. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through interviews involving 30 salted fish entrepreneurs as a sample. Panel data is used because it is able to capture changes and relationships between variables more accurately over a five-year observation period. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the SmartPLS 4.0 application. The research findings revealed that raw material costs and raw material inventory have a positive and significant effect, while competition has a negative and significant effect on revenue. The R-squared value of 0.745 indicates that raw material costs, raw material inventory, and competition simultaneously explain 74.5% of revenue. These results highlight the importance of cost and inventory management strategies, as well as innovation in the face of competition, to increase the income of local entrepreneurs in the salted fish processing sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, risk perception, and minimum capital on students’ interest in investing in banking sector stocks. The research subjects are students and members of the Sharia Capital Market Study Group (KSPMS) Golden at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The research employed a quantitative associative approach with purposive sampling technique, involving 100 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 30. The results show that financial literacy and minimum capital have a positive and significant effect on students' investment interest. In contrast, risk perception does not significantly affect investment interest. These findings indicate that increasing financial understanding and providing affordable capital can encourage more active student participation in stock investment, particularly in the banking sector. Therefore, the role of communities like KSPMS is crucial in educating and guiding students to become more knowledgeable and confident investors.

Abstract

This study analyzes the involvement of Islamic banks in supporting the brand development of local MSMEs in Medan City during the demographic bonus era. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis, this study utilized primary data from semi-structured interviews with three Islamic banks (Bank Muamalat, Bank Syariah Indonesia, and BTPN Syariah) and secondary data from reports, media documentation, and academic publications.Findings show variations in bank engagement. The research results from the comparison of these three Islamic banks using the content analysis method, found that Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) showed the highest engagement of the other two banks, amounting to (46.12%) through comprehensive strategies, including UMKM Center, halal certification, expansion of digital transactions, and access to global markets. BTPN Syariah followed with (39.16%), distinguished by its focus on empowering low-income women through PRS and collateral-free financing to strengthen financial literacy and self-reliance of rural women. Bank Muamalat recorded the lowest engagement (14.72%), with an emphasis on community-based social programs such as Gerobak Usaha and Food Court Berdaya, which foster local economic solidarity. The study concludes that the three Islamic banks' support for MSMEs goes beyond financing and reflects their distinctive institutional strategies. Abstract

The development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia shows a positive trend and has a significant contribution to the national economy. This study aims to analyze the development strategy of cassava sliced noodle business using porter's five force analysis. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this study were five people, namely three sliced noodle entrepreneurs, one supplier of raw materials in the form of cassava, and one customer in Pegajahan Village, Pegajahan District, Serdang Regency. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study from the analysis of Porter's five forces show that the threat of entrants has high potential because of small capital, easy to imitate and raw materials that are easy to obtain, high buyer power because they already have buyer outlets or regular customers who buy, namely breakfast sales and also shops spread throughout Indonesia, high supplier power because they rely on only one supplier where the price is uncertain and also the quality of raw materials is uncertain, the threat of substitute products is high because it is easy to get substitute products, also products that are not widely known to the public and the threat of low competitor competition because their place does not need to market and only sells to one agent, as well as other competitors and there is no difference in the raw materials used, no advantages in the product and also relatively the same price. This study uses a qualitative method using observation techniques and also direct interviews with business owners as sources of information that are processed into data.

Abstract

This study examines business development strategies for a small and medium enterprise (Havana Collection) in the digital era and prioritizes actionable initiatives using a SWOT–QSPM approach. Internal and external factors were mapped through field observations and document review; weighted scores were computed with IFAS/EFAS, strategic alternatives were formulated via SWOT, and priorities were determined using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix. The firm’s IFAS and EFAS totals indicate a relatively favorable external context (IFAS ≈ 2.56; EFAS ≈ 2.71). QSPM highlights an SO-led pathway: intensifying digital marketing—including paid ads, creator collaborations, and affiliate programs—emerges as the top priority, while product development and market expansion serve as supportive moves. Managerially, the roadmap emphasizes content capability and performance analytics, sequencing quick wins while strengthening core processes. The study demonstrates how a compact, evidence-based framework translates qualitative factor mapping into an implementable priority list for SME growth in the digital landscape.

Abstract

The rapid evolution of digital technology has profoundly shaped the consumption patterns and financial behaviors of Generation Z, a cohort characterized by high digital exposure and instant access to financial services. Despite their familiarity with financial information, many Gen Z individuals still exhibit impulsive spending and poor debt management, reflecting a gap between financial awareness and behavioral discipline. This study aims to examine the influence of financial knowledge and financial attitude on financial management behavior, with lifestyle serving as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 410 Gen Z students in Medan through an online questionnaire and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The findings reveal that both financial knowledge and financial attitude have significant positive effects on financial management behavior, both directly and indirectly through lifestyle. Furthermore, lifestyle demonstrates a partial mediating role, indicating that sound financial knowledge and positive attitudes are more effective when internalized into disciplined and goal-oriented financial lifestyles. This study contributes to the theoretical enrichment of the Theory of Planned Behavior by emphasizing the mediating role of lifestyle as a behavioral mechanism linking cognition and attitude to practical financial management. Practically, the results highlight the importance of promoting financial education programs that integrate lifestyle adjustments to foster responsible and sustainable financial behavior among the younger generation.
