Abstract

This service activity has two objectives. First, increasing the understanding of halal certification for MSMEs in Batam City. Second, helping SMEs in Batam City to prepare halal certification documents. This activity is carried out to overcome problems in MSMEs regarding the management of halal certification. This activity is expected to be useful for MSME Managers so that they understand the urgency of halal products, then MSME products are halal certified, and finally as a means of student learning. Based on the results of the assistance, many MSMEs want to take care of halal certification but are still confused about the preparation. This activity contains socialization, training, and mentoring. Assistance is provided to 6 (six) business units.

Abstract

The Tax Volunteer Program is a concrete step in the dedication of the Batam State Polytechnic academic community to assist the role of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) in conducting tax education to increase taxpayer awareness and compliance. This program is also used as PBL which is required for D3 Accounting Study Program students and involves 5 courses in the 4th semester. Volunteers assist in reporting the Individual Annual Tax Return internally at the Batam State Polytechnic and external parties at the Regional Office of DGT Riau Islands as well as several companies cooperating with the Regional Office of DGT Riau Islands. In 2023, tax volunteers succeeded in assisting 808 Individual Taxpayers both from internal Polibatam and outside Polibatam parties. More than 87% of Individual Taxpayers who were assisted by tax volunteers felt the assistance provided by Polibatam Tax Volunteers was very useful and easy for Individual Taxpayers to understand so it could greatly assist Individual Taxpayers in reporting their tax obligations. Many Individual Taxpayers hope that this program can be carried out every year by increasing the skills and understanding of tax volunteers and improving the mechanism for implementing assistance by adding a short tutorial on reporting the Individual Annual Tax Return through e-Filing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present a model that illustrates the general influence of technological capability, social capital, entrepreneurial orientation on firm performance through absorptive capacity in the food and beverage packaging industry in Indonesia. The model proposed in this study was tested with a structural equation model. This study processed data from 168 respondents of manager-level employees to the company owner level in the food and beverage packaging industry. This study found that technological capability, social capital and absorptive capacity have a positive and significant effect on firm performance. Meanwhile, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive but not significant effect on firm performance. This study found that technological capability, social capital and absorptive capacity have a positive and significant effect on firm performance. Meanwhile, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive but not significant effect on firm performance. Absorptive capacity mediates the relationship between technological capability and social capital to firm performance and absorptive capacity fully mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance. This research model only limits the factors that affect company performance to four main variables, namely technological capability, social capital, entrepreneurial orientation and absorptive capacity. Further research is suggested to use samples in other industries and add other variables such as uncertainty or uncertainty of environmental conditions as moderation variables. The practical implications of this research are that companies need to do three things if they want to get the benefits of entrepreneurial orientation and absorptive capacity to improve firm performance. This study presents the mediating function of absorptive capability tested simultaneously with the variables technological capability, social capital, entrepreneurial orientation is something new from this study compared to previous studies. The findings in this study also provide an additional contradictory list of previous studies on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance.

Abstract

Analyzing the effect of Government Effectiveness Index and Foreign Direct Investment for GDP in South Asian countries is the objective of this study. The analytical methodology employed during this work is panel data regression. GDP is a dependent variable, whereas the Government Effectiveness Index and Foreign Direct Investment are independent variables. In this study, the Fixed Effect Model proves to be the most practical model. Its results indicate that South Asia's GDP is marginally and insignificant positively impacted by the Government Effectiveness Index. Then, foreign direct investment has a negligible and has a insignificant positive impact on the GDP of South Asia. Likewise, result of model indicates that the combination of the Foreign Direct Investment and Government Effectiveness Index variables affects the GDP of South Asia.

Abstract

Child protection treatment that has been regulated in the Surabaya City Regional Regulation Policy No. 3 of 2023 concerning child protection. The content of the policy also regulates the protection of children with special needs to get special needs met, equal rights, the same behavior as other children to achieve full social integration and get social assistance. The city of Surabaya which received the award as a Child-Friendly City for five consecutive times. In realizing the protection of children with special needs based on the achievement children's home program which was inaugurated in 2022 on Jl. Nginden Semolo no.23. Qualitative research with a descriptive approach aims to find out how the implementation of child protection policies in the city of Surabaya. The data collection process obtained from interviews, observations and documents is used as research data analysis. The policy implementation model according to Mazmanian and Sabatier is based on three influencing variables. The results of this study show that the implementation of child protection policies based on achievement children's homes in the city of Surabaya is running according to the content of the policy. Participation from implementing officials and commitment to improve service quality.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of labor migration from the agricultural sector in the structural transformation process in Indonesia. Using a panel data regression approach, this study analyzes the effects of several key factors, including provincial minimum wage, agricultural land area, inflation, GDP growth in the agricultural sector, and the proportion of employment in the agricultural sector on labor mobility. The results indicate that these variables exhibit varying influences on the transition of labor from agriculture to other economic sectors. The findings reveal that minimum wage increases tend to limit the absorption of labor in the modern sector, encouraging workers to remain in agriculture. Meanwhile, a reduction in agricultural land area and inflation negatively impact agricultural employment, accelerating labor migration to other sectors. However, GDP growth in agriculture does not significantly affect labor retention in the sector, suggesting that economic expansion in agriculture does not always translate into higher labor absorption. Additionally, the proportion of employment in agriculture significantly influences workforce retention, indicating that job opportunities in the sector play a crucial role in sustaining agricultural labor. These insights provide valuable implications for policymakers in designing strategies to maintain workforce resilience in agriculture while promoting inclusive economic growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

Employee discipline is very important in ensuring that the public services provided run efficiently and effectively. Employee discipline is not only important for the internal operational effectiveness of an organization but also has a significant impact on the quality of public services provided to the community, especially public services in North Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City. The purpose of this study was to determine employee discipline in improving public services in North Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study find (1) The discipline indicator for working time for civil servants is following the stipulated provisions, namely 37.5 hours in one week starting from Monday to Friday. (2) Disciplinary indicators for civil servant regulations are carried out under applicable procedures and all employees wear uniforms and attributes that have been determined. (3) Disciplinary indicators of civil servant work responsibilities in the use of tools and maintenance of equipment have been carried out properly, if damage occurs to the equipment, repairs are immediately carried out under established procedures

Abstract

Technology develops every year and is utilized in various ways, including by MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) actors. Some people feel that technology has an impact in this era of globalization, especially the use of the internet. The internet is used as an information technology tool to carry out business activities. The goal of this activity is to create skills and creativity through digital branding in a product on digital marketing platforms (Shopee and TikTok). This training was attended by 21 MSME actors in Triwung Lor Village. MSME actors are still less innovative in developing their businesses. Generally, MSMEs do not use creative thinking in utilizing digital branding by leveraging digital platforms as marketing and sales tools. Therefore, through this training, MSME actors can become more productive in developing their businesses by following the latest trends, enabling their businesses to compete and grow in the online market world. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan kinerja keuangan pada perusahaan go public di Indonesia sebelum dan pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif yaitu data atau informasi berupa angka yang bersumber dari data keuangan perusahaan yang mana data ini dapat diakses melalui website IDX ataupun website masing-masing perusahaan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa sumber data adalah data sekunder.  Teknik Sampling yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah Purposive Sampling, yaitu menetapkan sampel sesuai dengan kriteria yang ditetapkan oleh peneliti. Kriteria tersebut adalah perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dengan  periode tahun 2019 dan tahun 2020. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dari tahun 2018 hingga 2020. Sampel dari penelitian ini berjumlah 610 perusahaan..Penelitian ini menggunakan Size, Debt to Equity Ratio, Revenue, Growth Rate of Net Income, Return on Asset, dan Price to Book Value sebagai variabel yang diteliti. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan Uji Wilcoxon Sign Test karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh Size, Debt to Equity Ratio, Revenue, Growth Rate of Net Income, Return on Asset, dan Price to Book Value mengalami perubahan yang signfikan selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Rata-rata perusahaan mengalami peningkatan pada Size dan Debt to Equity Ratio dan mengalami penurunan pada Revenue, Growth Rate of Net Income, Retun on Asset, dan Price to Book Value selama masa pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh Norma Subjektif (X1), Sikap (X2), Perceived Behavioral Control (X3), dan Gender (X4) terhadap Intensi Whistleblowing (Y). Populasi sampelnya adalah Auditor yang bekerja pada Kantor Akuntan Publik (KAP) di wilayah Jakarta Timur dan Jakarta Selatan. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 202 responden dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Teknik pengolahan dan analisis data yang digunakan dengan Evaluasi Model Pengukuran dan Pemodelan Struktural menggunakan aplikasi SmartPLS versi 4.0.93. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial variabel Norma Subjektif, Sikap, dan Perceived Behavioral Control mempunyai pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap niat melakukan whistleblowing. Namun perbedaan hasil yang ditunjukkan oleh Gender tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap niat whistleblowing. Norma Subyektif, Sikap, Perceived Behavioral Control, dan Gender secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap signifikansi niat whistleblowing.
