Puisi sebagai salah satu jenis karya sastra merupakan karya ekspresif wujud penyampai segala rasa. Secara pendokumentasian sejarah pun, puisi dapat menjadi salah satu wadah yang menyimpan catatan sejarah. Pemanfaatan tanda bahasayang digunakan dalam karya sastra merupakan bentuk performansi komunikasi yang digunakan pengarang untuk menyampaikan pesan tertentu. Penyampaian pesan tersebut dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan aspekstilistika sebagai wujud performansi kebahasaan. dalam Hal inilah yang menjadi menarik untuk selalu dikaji dan ditemukan catatan-catatan sejarah dari berbagai sastra masa lampau, salah satunya puisi di zaman Jepang.Indonesia menjadi sebuah negara yang berdaulat pun tidak bisa terlepas dari perkembangan sastra. Bahkan, sastra dapat mencatat dengan baik perjuangan bangsa serta sastra digunakan untuk alat perjuangan dalam meraih kemerdekaan. Zaman Jepang ditemukan dua kelompok sastrawan, yaitu sastrawan yang mendukung Jepang dan melawan Jepang. Bung Usman sebagai salah satu sastrawan yang melawan Jepang menggunakan puisi sebagai bentuk penolakan dan perlawan terhadap Jepang. Menganalisis gaya sastrawan secara indvidual dapat menemukan karakter bahasa sastrawan dan mencerminkan kondisi masyarakat di Zaman Jepang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan, Bung Usman memiliki gaya yang khas dalam penulisan puisi di zaman Jepang dengan gaya dominan lewat puisinya dan puisi Bung Usman pun menggambarkan kondisi masyarakat Indonesia yang kebingungan dan tidak tahu hendak melakukan apa sehingga membiarkan kesewenangan Jepang sekaligus menggambarkan keingan masyarakat melawan atau berjuang mendapatkan kemerdekaan Indonesia.

The purpose of the research was to explain and analyze the short story writing skills improvement grades X1 SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang in terms of characterization, plot, and setting. This type of research is a classroom action research that uses four stages in each cycle, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in two cycles. The data was collected through two main instruments, namely test and nontes. The test is used to collect data capability to write short stories, while the form of sheets nontes observation, field notes, and questionnaires were used to collect the data in the application of learning techniques paraphrasing poetry writing short stories. Analyzing data in accordance with the descriptive-analytical application of the concept of action research. Results of this study showed that the results of the students wrote short stories on pre-cycle obtain an average value of 58.89, cycle 1 with an average value of 77.04, and in cycle 2 the average score was 91.11.. The results showed an increase of pre-cycle students write short stories until the cycle 2.

This study aimed to describe two ways, as follows. (1) The portrayal of women Minang in Kaba Cindua Mato and Novel Memang Jodoh. (2) Comparative Depiction Minang women in Kaba Cindua Mato and Novel Memang Jodoh with Minangkabau traditional cultural values. This research was qualitative research with content analysis method. This research approach is a comparative literature with an interdisciplinary perspective. Results of this study are as follows. (1) Women Minang in kaba Mato Cindua shows Minang ancient depiction of women is synonymous with obedience to customs and understand his position as Minang women. In the novel Memang Jodoh, the portrayal of women Minang focuses on cases or unfair treatment because of the thought leaders in the community or certain customs should not lead to the referenced. (2) Comparison of Minang women in kaba Cindua Mato and novel Memang Jodoh with Minangakabau culture has provided some important notes that women Minang have some good clear position as a girl and had married.

Kompas–a national daily newspaper–has a unique language characteristic, particularly the one used in editorial. Research on critical discourse analysis of empowering text structure in editorial is crucial to be conducted. The aim of the research to describe (1) Sembilan Pucuk laws in Tambo Minangkabau; (2) custom and syarak as the guidelines in Tambo Minangkabau; (3) the command to obey Penghulu based on the custom and syarak. This study concludes that the three theme motifs in Tambo Minangkabau strengthen the role of adat and religion. In Minangkabau, both are present in the history of creating the Minangkabau country, which began with the Nan Nine Pucuk Law as legitimacy. Further, Balai adat (customary hall) and mosques are symbols of harmony between customs and religion in determining the provisions. Indeed, the community leaders, in this case, Penghulu, need to be obeyed because the customs have appointed them based on Qur’an and Hadith (religion).Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) Undang-Undang Nan sembilan pucuk dalam Tambo Minangkabau; (2) adat dan agama sebagai pedoman dalam Tambo Minangkabau; (3) perintah menaati penghulu berdasarkan adat dan agama. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ketiga motif tema dalam Tambo Minangkabau memberikan penguatan peran adat dan agama. Di Minangkabau, keduanya hadir dalam sejarah penciptaan negeri Minangkabau yang diawali dengan adanya Undang-Undang Nan Sembilan Pucuk sebagai legitimasi. Selanjutnya, balai adat dan masjid adalah simbol keharmonisan adat dan agama yang saling berkaitan dalam menentukan keputusan dan ketentuan. Bahkan pemimpin kaum, dalam hal ini penghulu, perlu ditaati perintahnya karena penghulu merupakan pemimpin yang ditetapkan oleh adat dan ditentukan oleh al Quran dan hadis atau agama.

Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah upaya menggali dan memunculkan potensi di kalangan guru yang memiliki tugas sebagai pendidik dan pengajar sekaligus contoh bagi peserta didiknya. Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode pelatihan/praktik langsung di lapangan, yaitu praktik menulis teks syair. Â Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah guru-guru Bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMP di Kabupaten Bantul dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mencipta karya sastra. Selain itu, memiliki pemahaman terhadap cara pengembangan ide tulisan serta unsur syair. Setelah memiliki pemahaman tersebut, kegiatan pelatihan ini meluncurkan buku kumpulan teks syair karya guru-guru yang berjudul Ken Ratri dan Satria Batu Pualam. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian berupa pelatihan penulisan teks syair ini dapat: (1) memperjelas motivasi dan orientasi bersastra sehingga terbentuk kejelasan sikap berkesenian sastra, (2) merangsang semangat (etos) kreatif para peserta pelatihan khususnya dan masyarakat pada umumnya, (3) memupuk minat dan bakat peserta pelatihan sehingga mereka memiliki kepekaan apresiasi dan kemampuan kritis/ekspresi serta pada giliran berikutnya mereka menjadi manusia yang memiliki kepribadian kreatif.

The culture of pantun has long been a part of the communication characteristics of the Minangkabau tribal community. Pantun is used in daily activities or traditional ceremonies in the past so that many rhymes can be traced and studied about the traditional teachings in them. The purpose of this study is to describe the traditional teachings and heritage of the penghulu in Minangkabau traditional pantun. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The object of research that becomes the focus of this research is the traditional teachings and the heritage of the penghulu. Data were collected using reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed based on data groups of traditional teachings and penghulu. The results of this study show that Minangkabau traditional teachings are based on harmonious relations between customs and religion, teach important things in saying, and have a variety of laws that are used according to the basis and interests that the community must know. In addition, the most important heritage of the penghulu is the reference used by the penghulu in leading the people, namely holding on to customs and religion.

Poem Sidi Djamadi is one of the poems of the Minangkabau which contains Islamic teachings. This study aims to describe the concept of clothing in the poem Sidi Djamadi and clothing as a representation of piety in the poem Sidi Djamadi. This poem was written by Shaykh Sidi Djamadi as a transmitter of Islamic teachings. This poem is examined by Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach. This research uses Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutics approach. The object of research is the poem Sidi Djamadi. The research subject is clothing as a representation of piety. Data obtained through transliteration, data inventory, analysis and interpretation, and conclusions. The results of this study are Syair Sidi Djamadi has two concepts of clothing, namely outerwear and inner clothes. Birth clothes are clothes cover genitalia. Clothing as a representation of aurat cover is complete clothing, clothing that functions as a cover of aurat. This type of clothing has many kinds. Daily clothing, special worship clothing (ihram cloth for Hajj and Umrah) and fi sabilillah war clothing. These three kinds of clothes were born to cover the nakedness and support the worship. Inner clothing is the concept of piety clothing (libas attaqwa). The concept of inner clothes consists of five types of representations. The five types of representation are clothing as a representation of faith, clothing as a representation of righteous deeds, clothing as a representation of a good way of life, clothing as a representation of concern for the torment of God, and clothing as a representation of shame.

Syair Sidi Djamadi is one of the old literary legacies of the Minangkabau which contains interesting lessons and knowledge to know. One of the things that can be expressed in these verses is the cultural dimension. The purpose of this study is to describe the cultural dimension in Sidi Djamadi's poetry. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research object is the cultural dimension and the research subject of Sidi Djamadi's poetry. The results of this study indicate that Sidi Djamadi's poetry is not only identical with religious advice and advice, but also contains a cultural dimension that can describe the Minangkabau people. The dominant cultural dimension is the uncertainty / avoidance aspect. This illustrates that the Minangkabau people tend to choose in safe / normal conditions rather than do something that is not clear or its usefulness is not yet known. Apart from that, the cultural dimensions that were found to be dominant were holding fast, uncertainty, avoiding and stopping the bad.

Dalam pembelajaran di sekolah, menyimak masih belum direalisasikan dengan baik. Pelajaran menyimak kurang mendapat perhatian dan sering diremehkan oleh siswa dan guru terutama pada sekolah yang belum maju seperti di wilayah pedesaan. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan media pembelajaran yang dapat menarik perhatian siswa seperti media pembelajaran dengan menggunakan flash berbasis komik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan media flash berbasis komik dalam pembelajaran Cerita Rakyat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian R&D dengan menggunakan model 4D. Uji coba produk yaitu ahli media dan materi, dan uji coba pengguna yaitu siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu angket. Validasi instrumen menggunakan construct validity. Reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan reliabilitas internal. Teknik analisis data yaitu analisis deskriptif. Tahap akhir dari penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah uji kelayakan dan efektifitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa penilaian tingkat kelayakan media pembelajaran secara keseluruhan diperoleh hasil yang valid dan sangat layak. Kelayakan media pembelajaran ditinjau dari aspek media dan materi termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak sebesar 100,00 %. Penilaian peserta didik didapatkan penilaian yang sangat layak dengan persentase skor setiap aspek antara lain a) aspek materi termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak sebesar 39 atau 97,5% dan kategori layak sebesar 1 atau 2,5% b) aspek media termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak sebesar 27 atau 67,5% dan kategori layak sebesar 13 atau 32,5% serta c) aspek penilaian media pembelajaran secara keseluruhan sebesar 37 atau 92,5%, dan kategori layak sebesar 3 atau 7,5%. Oleh karena itu, media ini dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru sebagai pegangan dalam mengajar maupun bagi siswa dalam belajar.
