Abstract

Learning mathematics in the 21st century requires developing critical thinking skills. However, traditional methods still dominate the classroom, such as using textbooks as learning resources and whiteboards as learning media, making it difficult for students to understand triangle congruence visually and dynamically. This research aims to develop animated video media using GeoGebra and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on triangle congruence material for grade IX junior high school students and to describe their validity and practicality. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The test subjects were 14 grade IX students and 1 mathematics teacher, with validation sheet instruments and practicality questionnaires. The results showed that the average validity of the media was 90% with the very valid category, while the practicality reached 89.11% with the very practical category. These findings show that GeoGebra and AI-assisted animation videos are feasible alternatives to modern, interactive mathematics learning media that facilitate students’ critical thinking skills in triangle congruence materials.

Abstract

Data dianalisis menggunakan uji one way anova.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding can be achieved through digital teaching materials, which can make teaching and learning activities more efficient and imaginative. Therefore, this study aims to develop a digital LKPD on relations and functions to enhance students' mathematical conceptual understanding and to determine its validity and practicality. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE development model. The study's subjects were students in class VIII C at SMPN 1 Kabawetan. The research instruments consisted of validation sheets, assessed by material and media experts, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the developed digital LKPD received a valid category from material experts (average score of 0,75) and a highly valid category from media experts (average score of 0,81). Meanwhile, a limited trial produced an average result of 80%, indicating a practical category. Thus, the developed digital LKPD is feasible and practical for use in school mathematics instruction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, Virtual Lab-assisted Discovery Learning (DL), and the conventional model on improving problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group. The results showed a significant difference in improvement in problem-solving skills between the three groups (p < 0.001). The Virtual Lab-assisted Discovery Learning model provided the highest improvement (an average increase from 26.77 to 57.43), followed by the Virtual Lab-assisted PBL model (an average increase from 26.39 to 55.64) and the conventional model (an average increase from 27.48 to 34.45). Meanwhile, for the self-efficacy variable, although all classes experienced significant internal improvement (p < 0.05), no statistically significant difference was found between the groups (p = 0.741). In conclusion, the use of virtual laboratories in active learning models is effective for visualizing abstract concepts and for training students' systematic, logical thinking. However, self-efficacy growth tends to be evenly distributed across approaches that provide successful experiences.   Keywords: Discovery Learning, Self-Efficacy, Problem-Solving Skills, Problem-Based Learning, Virtual Laboratory

Abstract

Cultural values play a crucial role in shaping a country's education system, encompassing curriculum, learning methods, discipline, and educational objectives. This study aims to analyze the influence of cultural values on the delivery of education through a comparison of the education systems of Finland, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. The method used in this study is a literature review with a descriptive-comparative approach. Data were obtained from various scientific sources such as journals, books, and international education reports. The results show that each country has educational characteristics influenced by the cultural values of its society. Finland emphasizes equality, freedom, and student well-being, creating a flexible education system with minimal academic pressure. Japan prioritizes discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and respect for others, reflected in school culture and character education. South Korea is influenced by a competitive culture and a strong work ethic, resulting in an education system oriented toward academic achievement. Meanwhile, Singapore integrates the values of pragmatism, multiculturalism, and technological mastery into its education system to support the development of superior and adaptive human resources. This comparison demonstrates that the success of an education system is inseparable from the cultural values that develop within society. Therefore, the development of education in Indonesia needs to consider relevant local cultural values in order to be able to create an education system that is high quality, has character, and is in accordance with the needs of the times.
