Abstract

This study aims to reflect online learning when Covid-19 spread include what happened, how obstacles, teacher readiness, solutions, and teacher innovations to improving learning. The mixed-method research was conducted on 30 SD/MI and SMP/MTs teachers in various fields. Data collection was carried out by survey using google form and interviews. Teacher readiness data is calculated quantitatively using percentages. Qualitative data (constraints, solutions, and innovations) were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed barriers to online learning came from teachers, schools, students, and material content; The percentage in new normal teacher readiness to do online learning is 73,49 (moderate category); Solutions in form of improving online learning infrastructure, providing quotas, teachers not only assigning tasks but activities, improving teacher skills in the field of IT. Teacher innovation is planning blended learning in the new normal and designing learning using internet applications, and empowering teacher working groups. The results of reflection show that online learning which is done suddenly produces many obstacles. Online learning planning needs to be done by improving teacher skills in the internet technology field, providing online learning facilities and infrastructure, understanding the characteristics of the material, and familiarizing students with technology following global demands. For this reason, it is necessary to initiate blended learning, namely a combination of online and face-to-face in facing global challenges.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the history of the decline of Islam and the progress of the Western World. This research uses library research or literature study; the research source focuses on books and articles related to the discussion. The result of this research is to find out that the decline of Islam occurred during the Abbasid dynasty, when there were various problems that caused Islamic civilization to begin to weaken and even decline. The decline of Islam was primarily caused by the Mongol invasion, which marked the Abbasid period's collapse. In addition, fragmentation and intellectual stagnation were also major factors in the collapse of Islam in the Abbasid period. While the progress of the Western World is inseparable from the history of Islamic civilization, which experienced progress and decline, the factors that became the main cause in the progress of the Western World are Renaissance and Humanism, which marked the beginning of the progress of the western world with the transition of social changes in society to massive. The Science Revolution, Industrial Revolution, Colonialism, and Imprealism are also important factors in the progress of the Western World.

Abstract

It is widely agreed that knowing how prospective teachers develop analogical reasoning in solving problems is essential. Problem solving is specific domain that requires particular ways of analogical reasoning skill. The purposes of this study was to reveal the development of analogical reasoning and strategies used bya porspective teachers. The research design used a qualitative method. As many as sixty nine mathematics prospective teachers were involved voluntarily to complete algebraic tasks and 12 of them were interviewed to investigate their analogical reasoning and solution strategies. The data analysis used Ruppert’s framework consisting of four components: structuring, mapping, applying, and verifying. It was found that the first three components were fully performed by the prospective teachers. However, the verifying stage was applied by prospective teachers in different ways. The dominant strategy used was a combined multiplication and addition. Their strategies varied according to the participants’ general ability. The more strategies employed in solving problems, the better their analogical reasoning is becomes. This implies that instructional designs that will be developed by prospective teachers may vary. Therefore, during their candidature, they should be provided with many solving strategies in problem-solving to develop students’ analogical reasoning.

Abstract

Meningkatnya mutu pendidikan yang merupakan tujuan pendidikan nasional Indonesia berkaitan erat dengan hasil belajar. Hasil belajar terutama kemampuan kognitif didukung oleh kemampuan pemahaman konsep. IPA (Ilmu pengetahuan alam) yang merupakan ilmu abstrak dan kompleks, penting untuk dipelajari. Salah satu konsep dalam materi IPA yang menjadi dasar esensial dalam mempelajari IPA terutama materi kimia dan fisika adalah konsep zat dan perubahan zat. Untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep peserta didik terhadap konsep zat dan perubahanya, diperlukan analisis pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep zat dan perubahan zat. Metode kuantitatif dengan desain survei digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengumpulkan informasi kemudian menganalisis guna meneliti kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Hasil penelitian yaitu pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep zat dan perubahan zat didominasi oleh kategori tidak paham, dengan pemahaman konsep dan miskonsepsi nyaris tidak memiliki perbedaan yang berarti.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa melalui penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan jenis penelitiannya adalah pre-experimental dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar tes keterampilan proses sains berbentuk esai yang terintegrasi lima indikator keterampilan proses sains. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis N-Gain dengan hasil berupa skor N-Gain tiap siswa dan tiap indikator keterampilan proses sains. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa siswa memperoleh rata-rata skor N-Gain sebesar 0,81 dengan kategori tinggi dan terjadi peningkatan pada setiap indikator keterampilan proses sains dengan kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing mampu meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan penggunaan media observasi dalam membantu siswa mengidentifikasi masalah ilmiah melalui pembelajaran inkuiri pada mata pelajaran IPA, serta menganalisis media observasi yang paling efektif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek seluruh siswa kelas IX. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan mengidentifikasi masalah ilmiah, angket respons siswa, serta wawancara. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan penggunaan media observasi dalam identifikasi masalah ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media video memberikan capaian tertinggi, dengan 72,3% siswa mampu mengidentifikasi objek dan 65,5% siswa mampu merumuskan pertanyaan ilmiah. Media gambar menunjukkan capaian yang lebih rendah yaitu 29,1% siswa mampu mengidentifikasi objek dan 23,6% siswa mampu merumuskan pertanyaan ilmiah, sedangkan media teks mencatat hasil terendah dengan persentase 18,2% pada kedua indikator. Angket siswa memperkuat hasil ini, dengan 69,1% siswa menilai video sebagai media paling efektif. Secara keseluruhan, media video lebih mendukung proses identifikasi masalah ilmiah dalam pembelajaran inkuiri dibandingkan media gambar maupun teks.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik, dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi Hukum Newton. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre eksperimental design dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu hasil pretest dan posttest yang di peroleh ketika awal penelitian dan akhir penelitian. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah lebih lanjut dengan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas yang bertujuan untuk melihat distribusi data, dan kemudian di analisis menggunakan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik pada materi Hukum Newton, hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil N-Gain sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori tinggi.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect by implementing the structure of earth’s layers teaching aid in student cognitive learning outcomes of grade VII junior high school. The type of research used was pre-experimental design research through one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study were 33 grade VII students of Public Junior High School in Sidoarjo City. Data collection techniques used was test methods include a pretest posttest of 25 multiple-choice questions based on paper and pencil tests. Learning outcomes data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov’s normality test to see whether the data was normally distributed or not, then the N-Gain test to measure the increase in student learning outcomes and t-test in pairs in data of learning outcomes before and after treatment. The results showed that the influence by implementing the structure of earth’s layers teaching aid in student cognitive learning outcomes of grade VII junior high school students was seen to be increased. It shows on the Effect Size with 3.4 score which indicated as a high category and N-Gain test, an average score of 64% or 0.64 was obtained at a signification level of 5% or 0.05 which indicated as a medium category. Based on these results, it can be interpreted the implementation of the structure of earth’s layers teaching aid affects the improvement of students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Objective: Based on previous research, there is evidence that science literacy and technological literacy in various regions of Indonesia still need improvement, especially vocational high schools. Science literacy and technological literacy in science learning are combined with socioemotional abilities, one of which is the ability to empathize students. Learning interventions are needed to produce competitive graduates who are able to compete in facing challenges in the world of work. This study aims to validate the STEM Empathy learning model. Method: The educational development research design used is a validation study design that tests two criteria, namely testing content validity (also called relevance) and construct validity (also called consistency). This validation involved three experts in the field of Science Education, and the validation instrument used a validation sheet. Result: The research results and data analysis showed that the Empathy STEM learning model consistently provided highly relevant results and met strict validity and reliability standards (with a percentage of agreement ≥ 75%). Novelty: Validation of learning support devices includes lesson plans, student textbooks, learner worksheets, science literacy and technological literacy tests. Empathy STEM learning can be applied to improve students' science literacy and technological literacy. The empathy stem learning model can train scientific literacy and technological literacy while fostering students' socio-emotional abilities. STEM learners are well-suited to teaching empathy, social emotional learning into science education creating a holistic STEM that s the potential to increase students’ interest and appreciation of science and its applications.

Abstract

Rendahnya literasi sains dan sikap ilmiah peserta didik SMP menjadi tantangan utama dalam pembelajaran sains, terutama dalam memahami konsep yang relevan dengan kehidupan nyata. Polusi udara, sebagai isu lingkungan global yang berdampak pada kesehatan dan kehidupan manusia, menjadi konteks pembelajaran yang strategis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah, khususnya keyakinan bahwa setiap masalah memiliki solusi (a belief that problems have solutions). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi polusi udara yang mengintegrasikan sintaks PBL meliputi orientasi masalah, organisasi belajar, penyelidikan, pengembangan solusi, dan evaluasi. Metode penelitian adalah R&D dengan memodifikasi 3D (Define, Design dan Develop). Proses validasi melibatkan tiga ahli yang menilai aspek kelayakan isi, kebahasaan, konstruksi, dan kebermanfaatan LKPD. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis PBL ini sangat valid dengan skor rata-rata 81%–95%, sehingga layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Desain LKPD ini membantu siswa memahami konsep polusi udara, melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis, memecahkan masalah, serta mengembangkan sikap ilmiah secara holistik.
