Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Total Physical Response (TPR) method in improving Arabic vocabulary acquisition among students with special needs at MI Hayatul Islamiyah Malang. Using a quantitative method with a one-group experimental design (pre-test and post-test), this study measured changes in vocabulary acquisition before and after the implementation of TPR. The results showed a significant increase in students' vocabulary scores after the implementation of the TPR method. The p-value of 0.00 is smaller than 0.05, so Ha can be accepted and H0 is rejected. This shows that there is a significant increase in students' comprehension after the implementation of the TPR method. Before the treatment, the mean score of the students' pre-test was 55, and after the treatment, the mean score of the post-test increased to 83.75. This shows that the TPR method is effective in improving students' vocabulary comprehension, so that their ability to understand new vocabulary increases significantly. This study concludes that the TPR method is effective in improving Arabic vocabulary acquisition, which has the potential to support the academic and social development of students with special needs, and emphasizes the importance of an inclusive and student-centered approach to education.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the important elements in the success of the learning process, especially Arabic language learning. Appropriate learning media helps students understand the learning materials delivered by the teacher. Strip story media is a very effective learning media in learning Arabic writing skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of strip story media on improving students' writing skills. The research approach used is Quantitative Research. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII 1 as the control class and class VIII 3 as the experimental class in a junior high school. The research instruments included pre-test and post-test questions to measure the level of students' writing skills. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical tests to determine the differences in learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. The results showed that there were significant differences between the two classes. With the comparative value of the mean results at the time of the pretest and posttest, namely the pretest in the experimental class 57.1 with the Dhaif criteria and the posttest 72.1 with the Maqbul criteria, while the pretest in the control class 56.8 with the Dhaif criteria and the posttest 61.8 with the Dhaif criteria too. Students who learn with strip story media experience a greater increase in writing skills compared to students in the control class. Thus, strip story media can be used as an effective alternative in Arabic language learning to improve students' writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Arabic language teaching module based on a communicative approach to improve speaking skills in the Arabic specialization class. Based on observations and interviews conducted, it was found that Arabic learning in the specialization class still uses the same textbooks as regular classes, and the teaching method primarily relies on lectures. Furthermore, teachers have not yet used a specific teaching module that aligns with the needs of the specialization class. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D), using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the calculation of the N-gain score, the average value obtained was 0.7, which falls into the high category, with an improvement percentage of 75%, interpreted as fairly effective. In addition, the results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.01, which is less than 0.05. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This indicates a significant difference between students pretest and posttest scores after using the module. The findings of this study indicate that the communicative approach-based teaching module is highly effective in improving the speaking skill of students in the specialization class. It is recommended that teachers utilize and integrate this module into the learning process to create an active, interactive, and efficient learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic financial literacy, attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on the intention to use Islamic banks in Indonesia. Specifically, this study investigates the indirect effect of Islamic financial literacy on the intention to use Islamic banks through attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Data were obtained through a survey of 572 students from Islamic Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia, processed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that Islamic financial literacy significantly influences attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control regarding Islamic banking services. Subsequently, these factors (attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control) were proven to be strong predictors of an individual's intention to use Islamic banks. These findings validate the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in Islamic banking, showing that Islamic financial literacy is a key factor influencing TPB constructs. The research highlights the importance of financial literacy education to increase the adoption of Islamic banking services. By promoting Islamic financial literacy within university programs, future graduates will have a deeper understanding of Islamic banking principles (such as prohibition of riba, risk-sharing, and asset-backed financing). This awareness will enhance their likelihood of choosing Islamic banking services and advocating them within society.

Abstract

The learning process is a series of programs that have been agreed upon and supervised. This certainly requires management in it. One of the management experts, Henry Fayol, defines management in three senses, namely: 1) Management as a process, 2) Management as a collectivity of people who carry out all management activities, 3) Management as an art and as a science. Henry Fayol's management theory focuses more on how management interacts with its personnel. This study will examine how Henry Fayol's theory is applied to the Arabic language learning program in Islamic boarding schools, especially the Firdaus Malang student boarding school. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. In implementing its Arabic language program, the Firdaus student boarding school has applied Henry Fayol's theory based on 14 principles that are the characteristics of Henry Fayol's theory itself. The success of this program management can be seen from the success of the Arabic language program at the Furdaus Islamic boarding school. The success of the Arabic language program at the Firdaus Islamic boarding school can be seen in the alumni who have become Arabic language experts and successful Arabic language teachers in their respective fields. Abstract

This study aimed to explore the speaking skill in lecturing processes using Instagram media based on the constructivism theory, the problems, and students’ perceptions of the lecturing process. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with several data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of this study concluded that in the implementation of speaking skill lectures, the lecturer used several steps, namely: (1) Instagram media preparation, (2) introduction to the topic, (3) and several core stages oriented to emphasizing the construction of students’ thinking in making the concept of speaking. This study also found several problems such as weak internet networks and a lack of confidence amongst students to upload their speaking skill videos on their personal Instagram accounts. Students also gave positive perceptions such as increased thinking skills and an increase in the number of followers of their Instagram accounts. On the other hand, the researchers also found negative perceptions such as their weak scientific capacity in video editing, speaking skill, and gadgets’ conditions that do not support video editing applications. The researchers suggest that further research is conducted on the integration of constructivism theory with several other social media popular among learners.
