Abstract

Music education promotes students' cultural and intellectual development, particularly in preserving traditional music. Sundanese traditional music in Indonesia, mainly through the concept of titilaras, encapsulates cultural identity and history. Modern music education encounters a hurdle as Western musical notation predominates courses, resulting in students needing help comprehending and performing Sundanese music due to the disparities in notation systems. This research examined the imperative of safeguarding Sundanese titilaras by investigating the incorporation of Western musical notation in its pedagogy to improve students' proficiency in reading and composing traditional Sundanese music. The research utilized a qualitative action research technique at Indonesian University of Education, engaging 48 students from various cultural origins and different levels of music education. The research evaluated students' skills in titilaras before and after integrating Western notation through surveys, aural assessments, and music transcription activities. The findings revealed that most pupils encountered difficulties with Sundanese musical notation while demonstrating proficiency in Western notation. Utilizing Western musical notation as an instructional instrument, students exhibited enhanced comprehension and execution of Sundanese scales, particularly in practical contexts such as transcription and melody interpretation. The study indicated that integrating Western notation into the curriculum could enhance accessibility to traditional music for students acquainted with Western systems. Thus, Sundanese music maintained its cultural integrity while fulfilling modern educational requirements. This research underscored the necessity of modifying music education to preserve local musical traditions within an increasingly international framework.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop a virtual celempung instrument based on the KONTAKT Library as an innovative tool for digital music creation, while also supporting the preservation of Sundanese cultural heritage in the digital age. Method: The research adopts a practice-based research method, which recognizes artistic practice as a legitimate source of knowledge. The process includes pre-production, production, and post-production stages, involving sound sampling, audio editing, and programming through both artistic and technological approaches. It also explores the potential integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in sound design. Results and Discussion: The developed virtual celempung instrument successfully replicates the authentic sound characteristics of the original instrument while offering opportunities for the creation of adaptive and innovative new sounds in cross-genre digital music. The combination of sampling technology and local cultural practice creates an innovative space for the development of tradition-based digital musical instruments. Conclusion: This study contributes to the field of digital ethnomusicology through a novel approach that integrates traditional musical heritage with advanced technologies, particularly AI. The innovation not only enhances access to traditional instruments but also strengthens the synergy between cultural tradition and technological advancement in contemporary music landscapes.

Abstract

This study discusses the important role of human resource management (HRM) in catfish farming at CV Tropika Farm. The research shows that effective management can improve efficiency and productivity in catfish farming. Innovative solutions in water, climate management and feed management also have significant positive impacts. The findings are expected to be the basis for further development in improving the sustainability of catfish farming in the future. HRM in catfish farming includes aspects of water management, fertilization, feeding and climate management. Adaptation strategies to deal with climate challenges in catfish breeding include selection of seeds that are resistant to climate change, regulation of pond temperature, water quality management, and utilization of alternative water sources. The research was conducted using a qualitative method, using primary data from interviews with CV Tropika Farm employees and secondary taken from literature, journals and data from CV Tropika Farm, Batununggal, Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency. Good HR management can have a positive impact on overcoming problems faced and reducing risks that can affect catfish hatchery operations.

Abstract

Research in the field of internal combustion enigine using environmentally friendly fuels must be the main focus to increase efficiency, engine performance, reduction of exhaust gas emissions to clean combustion. Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI) on the diesel engines can be used as an innovative solution to increase thermal efficiency and reduce emissions through bending of fuels with different reactivity. This paper presents a comprehensive review of hydrogen-induced fuels systems on RCCI engines, as well as its impact on engine performance, emissions to Clean Combustion. Various studies show that mixing hydrogen in RCCI engines can increase thermal efficiency, speed up the combustion process, and reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate metter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and Smoke Opacity emissions. This review provides insight into the trend of development of hydrogen-induced RCCI on diesel engines and its prospects in realizing a clean and efficient combustion system, so that future research focus is important for finding appropriate fuel mixtures, operating parameters, and choosing optimal engines by considering technical problems, thermodynamics, economics, and the environment, as well as exploring the potential implementation of this technology in the future.

Abstract

An impeller with five blades was designed to enhance water discharge from the volute. The increased number of blades was expected to exert a more potent force on the water due to a larger surface area. However, excessive blade numbers could obstruct inlet water flow, reducing discharge efficiency. Therefore, a restriction was applied to optimize the blade count. The impeller was developed using an experimental approach, as most designs typically feature four to seven blades. Performance tests were conducted by varying the outlet pipe width through different valve openings, and the effects on water discharge and velocity were analyzed. The results indicated that increasing the rotational speed (rpm) led to a higher discharge rate. At 5,702 rpm with a 100% valve opening, the maximum discharge of 1.426 L/s was achieved, while at 3,536 rpm with a 25% valve opening, the lowest discharge of 0.18 L/s was recorded. The velocity analysis showed that the highest speed of 14.17 m/s occurred at 5,702 rpm with a 25% valve opening, whereas the lowest speed of 2.74 m/s was observed at 3,536 rpm with a fully open valve. These findings confirm that increased valve openings enhance discharge and reduce water velocity due to outlet pipe diameter variations.   .

Abstract

Cleaning service are people who maintain the cleanliness and health of the hospital environment, one of which is the handling of medical waste. In carrying out this task, it is important for cleaners to use personal protective equipment correctly and according to standards. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of cleaning service and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in handling solid medical waste at Rotinsulu Lung Hospital Bandung. This study uses the observational analytical method with a cross-sectional study approach. The sample in this study was 30 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a knowledge questionnaire, an attitude questionnaire, and an observation sheet on the use of personal protective equipment. Statistical test results using the chi square test on the relationship between knowledge and the use of personal protective equipment obtained the number 0.016, which means that there is a relationship between knowledge and the use of personal protective equipment. The results of attitudes towards the use of personal protective equipment obtained a value of 0.005, which means there is a relationship between attitudes towards the use of personal protective equipment. Based on this study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards the use of personal protective equipment. It is recommended for hospitals to carry out training activities related to infection prevention and control and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for cleaning service in order to increase understanding of the benefits and functions of PPE.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui learning obstacle mahasiswa calon guru dalam pembelajaran integral tentu. Pentingnya integral dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan menuntut pemahaman yang lebih mendalam dari para guru agar materi ini dapat diajarkan secara efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kasus yang difokuskan pada 10 mahasiswa calon guru Matematika di Universitas swasta di bandung, Indonesia, yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Mahasiswa diberikan soal TKR (tes kemampuan responden) sebagai tes kemampuan awal dalam pemahaman konsep integral tentu. Selanjutnya, menggunakan analisis APOS (Aksi, proses, objek dan skema) melalui wawancara In-depth interview diperoleh indikasi learning obstacle dari mahasiswa. Hasil yang diperoleh, siswa mengalami hambatan belajar didaktis, hambatan belajar ontogenik konseptual khususnya materi aljabar sebagai prasyarat pembelajaran integral yang belum dipahami dengan baik dan psikologi dimana siswa mengalami hambatan belajar karena kurangnya rasa percaya diri dalam menyelesaikan masalah perhitungan integral tentu. Learning obstacle yang ditemukan dapat dijadikan dasar dalam membuat desain pembelajaran yang epistemic. This research aims to determine the learning obstacles of prospective teacher students in integral learning of course. The importance of integrals in improving educational quality requires teachers to have a deeper understanding of this topic to teach it effectively. This research is a qualitative research with a case study focused on 10 prospective Mathematics teacher students at a private university in Bandung, Indonesia, who were selected using purposive sampling. Students are given TKR (respondent ability test) questions as an initial ability test in understanding integral concepts of course. Furthermore, using APOS analysis (Action, process, object and scheme) through in-depth interviews, indications of learning obstacles were obtained from students. The results obtained showed that students experienced didactic learning obstacles, conceptual ontogenic learning obstacles, especially algebraic material as a prerequisite for integral learning that has not been well understood, and psychology where students experienced learning obstacles due to a lack of self-confidence in solving definite integral calculation problems. The learning obstacles found can be used as a basis for creating epistemic learning designs

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah dapur merupakan salah satu tantangan utama di daerah padat penduduk seperti Kelurahan Akehuda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengelola sampah dapur menjadi pupuk kompos yang bernilai ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan demonstrasi teknologi pembuatan pupuk kompos menggunakan bahan baku sampah organik rumah tangga. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan respon positif dari masyarakat dengan peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan mereka dalam memanfaatkan limbah dapur. Program ini diharapkan mampu menciptakan peluang usaha berbasis pengelolaan sampah dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kelurahan Akehuda.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dijalankan di masjid Al Maliki komplek Perum Low Permai Ngade bertema “Sosialisasi Tempat Ibadah Ramah Anak”. Kegiatan ini dilatar belakangi oleh minimnya masjid yang berorientasi pada kepentingan anak yang mampu menghargai hak-hak anak serta melindungi mereka dari berbagai bentuk kekerasan dan diskriminasi. Masjid dan rumah ibadah memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam membentuk kesadaran masyarakat untuk berkontribusi dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang kondusif bagi perkembangan anak di tingkat komunitas. Masjid dan rumah ibadah dalam kegiatan sehari-hari dapat difungsikan tidak hanya sebagai tempat ibadah saja, tetapi juga sebagai pusat pengasuhan dan pendidikan bagi anak-anak dan orang dewasa, serta keluarga yang menjadi jamaah masjid. Pengetahuan jamah pada umumnya dan pengurus masjid pada khususnya terkait masjid ramah anak, masih sangat minim dan perlu diperdalam. Melalui kegiatan PKM jamaah dan pengurus masjid selain diberikan sosialisasi, juga diberikan tindakan konkret yang solutif untuk mengatasi masalah dari permasalahan tersebut. Sehingga luaran dari PKM yang didapatkan adalah memberikan pemahaman kepada para pengelola masjid dan pemangku kepentingan dalam pembentukan dan pengembangan masjid ramah anak, sehingga menjadi acuan dalam melaksanakan pemantauan dan evaluasi, serta menjadikan masjid menjadi tempat yang nyaman untuk anak dalam melakukan aktivitas yang positif, inovatif dan kreatif.

Abstract

Pengenalan Metode Tilawati sebagai solusi efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Quran secara tartil di TPQ As-Syafii merupakan upaya pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya pemahaman tajwid dan metode pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Program ini melibatkan pelatihan guru TPQ, penyediaan bahan ajar berbasis metode Tilawati, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi selama pelaksanaan. Metode Tilawati mengutamakan ketepatan makhraj dan tajwid dengan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mudah dan menyenangkan bagi anak-anak. Hasil sementara menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan membaca Al-Quran santri serta peningkatan kompetensi guru. Pelaksanaan program memperhatikan keterbatasan fasilitas dan jumlah peserta, namun telah berhasil mencapai target utama luaran pengabdian, termasuk penyusunan laporan dan publikasi ilmiah yang sedang dalam proses. Diharapkan program ini dapat berkelanjutan dan menjadi model pembelajaran Al-Quran di masyarakat.
