Abstract

Makalah ini membahas suatu contoh upayapenghematan energi pada aplikasi motor kapasitor.Dengan mengambil inspirasi dari salah satu karya patenFrank Nola dari NASA, suatu peralatan semikonduktoryaitu TRIAC dipilih sebagai konverter daya dalamimplementasi algoritma penghematan energi. Suaturangkaian elektronika sederhana dirancang dan dibuatuntuk memicu bekerjanya TRIAC. Agar secarainstruksional lebih bermanfaat, disertakan pula contohhasil pemilihan nilai komponen-komponen elektronikayang digunakan. Hasil percobaan di laboratoriummenunjukkan bahwa penggunaan TRIAC untukmengurangi konsumsi energi listrik terbuktimenguntungkan jika digunakan pada aplikasi motorkapasitor yang pada sebagian besar rentang waktuoperasinya berbeban rendah, misalnya pada aplikasipompa. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena pengurangantegangan efektif masukan ke motor akan menyebabkanpengurangan daya masukan, disertai dengan perbaikanfaktor daya dan efisiensi motor.Kata Kunci—hemat energi, motor kapasitor, TRIAC

Abstract

Dodol adalah salah satu makanan khas Indonesia yang sulit dalam pembuatannya karena diperlukan waktu yang cukup lama dan energi yang besar untuk mengaduk adonan hingga mempunyai kekentalan tertentu. Selain itu, kecepatan pengaduk adonan dodol diusahakan konstan agar menghasilkan dodol berkualitas baik dengan tingkat kematangan merata. Sebagai solusi, prinsip kerja dari rangkaian terkontrol penyearah gelombang penuh yang dikombinasikan dengan rotary encoder sebagai sensor kecepatan dapat digunakan untuk menghasilkan pergerakan motor dengan kecepatan yang konstan dan torsi yang adaptif. Motor DC magnet permanen digunakan untuk menggerakkan pengaduk jenis pitch blade impeller. Dihasilkan suatu sistem pengadukan adonan dodol dengan kecepatan konstan dan torsi adaptif.Kata Kunci — Adonan dodol, rangkaian penyearah terkontrol gelombang penuh, kecepatan konstan, pitch blade impeller.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini, dirancang penerapan logika fuzzy Sugeno untuk mengatur perilaku musuh, pada game (permainan) bertipe Action-RPG yang berjudul "Song of Ruination 2". Logika fuzzy adalah cabang dari sistem kecerdasan buatan (artificial intelegent) yang mengemulasi kemampuan manusia dalam berfikir ke dalam bentuk algoritma yang kemudian dijalankan oleh mesin. Setiap musuh dan pemain memiliki status kekuatan, terdiri dari attack (Kekuatan serang), defense (Ketahanan), speed (Kecepatan gerak), agility (Kemampuan menghindar) dan life (Nyawa). Terdapat 3 jenis musuh, yaitu penyerang, pemanah dan boss. Musuh penyerang akan menyerang dari jarak dekat dengan pedang. Musuh ini memiliki parameter input fuzzy yaitu nyawa dan jarak, dia akan mundur ketika nyawanya lemah atau jaraknya dekat dengan pemain. Musuh pemanah memiliki parameter input fuzzy yaitu amunisi dan jarak, dia akan mundur ketika didekati pemain atau ketika amunisinya sedikit. Musuh boss memiliki parameter input fuzzy yaitu nyawa dan jarak, ia sangat agresif, ia mundur ketika nyawanya sangat sedikit. Penerapan fuzzy dalam permainan ini telah berjalan dengan baik, dimana musuh tipe penyerang menjadi cukup agresif (45% perilaku menyerang), tipe pemanah agresif jika berada pada jarak jauh (49% perilaku menyerang), dan musuh boss sangat agresif (89% perilaku menyerang).Kata kunci - Logika fuzzy sugeno, action RPG, kecerdasan buatan.

Abstract

This paper presents a harmonic analyzer that used IoT and smart apps for low-cost and portable solutions. We contribute a short review of harmonics measurement methods and experimental approaches for monitoring harmonics using an IoT-based system. The proposed device was built from a current sensor, a voltage sensor, and a microcontroller with an IoT transmitter which is integrated with Matlab© cloud and smart apps (android). In specific, we experimented with testing and validated our proposal using the standard instrument under a fair treatment. The measurement scenario was taken on the point of comment coupling in the building campus for 5 to 10 minutes of each comparable instrument. Based on experimental results, the proposed device could monitor the harmonics profile drawn by the loads in the building campus. The trade-off between cost and performance is founded as the truth that it takes about 1 minute to update the harmonics data. Furthermore, the average error of THDV is 5.7%, and THDI is 4.7% which is higher than the expensive instrument. These values are acceptable based on IEEE standards.  Besides, it could monitor harmonics in real-time through an android application which is easy to use and portable. In addition, the cost of making the proposed device is cheap compared to the price of the standard instruments in the market.

Abstract

Solar radiation forecasting is important in solar energy power plants (SEPPs) development. The electrical energy generated from the sunlight depends on the weather and climate conditions in the area where the SEPPs are installed. The condition of solar irradiation will indirectly affect the electrical grid system into which the SEPPs are injected, i.e. the amount and direction of the power flow, voltage, frequency, and also the dynamic state of the system. Therefore, the prediction of solar radiation condition is very crucial to identify its impact into the system. There are many methods in determining the prediction of solar radiation, either by mathematical approach or by heuristic approach such as artificial intelligent method. This paper analyzes the comparison of two methods, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference (ANFIS) method, which belongs into the heuristic methods, and Multiple Linear Regression (MLP) method, which uses a mathematical approach. The performance of both methods is measured using the root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean absolute error (MAE) values. The data of the Swiss Basel city from Meteoblue are used to test the performance of the two methods being compared. The data are divided into four cases, being classified as the training data and the data used as predictions. The solar radiation prediction using the ANFIS method indicates the results which are closer to the real measurement results, being compared to the the use MLP method. The average values of RMSE and MAE achieved are 123.27 W/m2 and 90.91 W/m2 using the ANFIS method, being compared to 138.70 W/m2 and 101.56 W/m2 respectively using the MLP method. The ANFIS method gives better prediction performance of 12.51% for RMSE and 11.71% for MAE with respect to the use of the MLP method.

Abstract

In this paper, some results of experiment on modification of induction motor into generator are described. Not as usually done on three-phase motor, the modification has been done on capacitor motors normally supplied with single-phase source. The resulted induction generator should be able to self-excite and has been intended for low-power, low-speed applications. These applications are prospective for example in rural renewable energy generations and as motors for some special electric vehicles. Machine modification instead of total design-production or new machine acquisition is considered more appropriate for remote rural electrification. Distance and transportation difficulties, unavailability of nearby machine industry, lack of human resources with ‘high-tech savvy’, besides the low purchasing power of population in remote rural areas are some reasons behind the consideration. Experiment results indicated that voltage generation up to nominal value is not always easy to attain in a capacitor motor, even when functioning beyond its synchronous speed. An additional pre-charged capacitor should be used to initiate voltage generation. During start-up, load and the pre-charged capacitor had to be removed from generator to avoid capacitor discharge. Load could then be added gradually once generator approached its nominal output value. It was also shown that in order to generate power the generator must be rotating over its synchronous speed. The resulted frequency values did not vary linearly to the rotation speed and the obtained efficiency was still low.

Abstract

In a power distribution system it is expected that the current and voltage values to be maintained constant both in terms of magnitude and frequency. However, distortion of waveforms as a result of non-linear loads connected to system is widely found in a form of harmonics. Harmonics are sinusoidal signals whose frequencies multiples of the fundamental frequency. The severity of harmonics content is commonly stated using Total Harmonics Distortion (THD), revealing the ratio of the Root Mean Square (RMS) values of all harmonic components to its fundamental component, and is expressed in percentage (%). The harmonics could engender undesired effects in some appliances. In this paper, an effort to minimize the THD value in an inverter design is described. Less harmonics were obtained using Buck-Boost Converter and Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) Method. Analysis results showed a THD reduction of 4.58 % and 4.33 % for current and voltage respectively.

Abstract

Some Soft Computing algorithms to solve themaximum power point tracking (MPPT) method problem ofthe photovoltaic system under partially shaded conditions willstop tracking Global Maxima and produce reference voltage orthe best duty-cycle if the difference between the worst and thebest candidate solution is smaller than the specified threshold.A large threshold value will produce fast converging, but theaccuracy value will be low, and vice versa, then thedetermination of the threshold value will be very dilemma.Therefore, this study proposed a combination of ImprovedDifferential Evolution (IDE) and Jaya optimization based onpredictive curves using cubic spline interpolation to determinethe best particles after the IDE reaches convergent criteria, sothat with a large threshold value it will still get high accuracyand high convergent speed. Furthermore, the algorithmproposed in this study is known as Improved DifferentialEvolution and Jaya Based Spline (IDESJaya). The proposedalgorithm is compared with conventional P&O, Jaya based onSpline, and IDE. Simulation results show that the IDESJayatechnique is faster converging, provides a better overalltracking efficiency and higher accuracy.

Abstract

Penggunaan sistem daya DC semakin luas digunakan, sehingga diperlukan sistem untuk mengkonversi sistem daya DC, salah satunya adalah buck-boost converter. Sistem buck-boost converter memerlukan suatu pengendali agar tegangan keluaran yang dihasilkan sesuai yang diinginkan tanpa ada gangguan saat buck-boost beroperasi. Makalah ini mengkaji perbaikan unjuk kerja buck-boost converter dengan menggunakan pengendali PID dan fuzzy-PID. Pengendali PID mampu menghadirkan kepresisian serta kestabilan, sedangkan algoritma fuzzy menunjukkan kinerja yang baik ketika digunakan pada sistem yang tidak linier, disamping mudah diubah-ubah. Hasil pembandingan simulasi implementasi pengendali PID dan fuzzy-PID memperlihatkan bahwa waktu pemulihan fuzzy-PID lebih cepat dari PID. Dari perbandingan tersebut juga terlihat bahwa jumlah deviasi tegangan fuzzy-PID lebih kecil dari PID. Dapat dikatakan sistem dengan pengendali fuzzy-PID lebih baik dari sistem dengan PID. Kata kunci— buck-boost, fuzzy-PID, pengendali, PID. Abstract The use of DC power systems is continuously increasing, making the need of DC power conversion also increase. Buck-boost converter is one of the important DC power converters. The buck-boost converter system requires a controller so that the output voltage is as desired without any interference when buck-boost operates. This paper examines the improvement of the performance of the buck-boost converter using PID and fuzzy-PID controllers. PID controller is capable of presenting precision and stability, while fuzzy algorithms show good performance when used on systems that are not linear, besides easily changeable. The comparison results of simulation on PID controller and fuzzy-PID controller implementation show that fuzzy-PID recovery time is faster than PID. The comparison also shows that the amount of fuzzy-PID voltage deviation is smaller than PID. It can be said that a system with a fuzzy-PID controller is better than a system with PID. Abstract

ABSTRAKSistem tenaga listrik adalah sebuah jaringan terinterkoneksi yang berfungsi untuk mendistribusikan listrikdari pembangkit ke pengguna. Penyulang pujon merupakan penyulang tipe radial yang mendapat suplai dayaenergi listrik dari gardu induk Sengkaling, Malang. Pendistribusian daya listrik sering menjadi masalah karenakarena jarak yang dilayani tersebar, jauh dari pusat pembangkit dan kecenderungan jaringan tegangan menengahbebannya bersifat induktif. Makalah ini mengangkat studi perbaikan kualitas tegangan dan rugi-rugi dayapada penyulang Pujon Malang. Penyulang pujon bersifat radial murni yang terbentang sepanjang 56,397 km.Adapun alternatif solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan diatas dapat dilakukan denganmelakukan Injeksi Pembangkit terdistribusi dengan memanfaatkan potensi pembangkit terdistribusi. Sistempembangkit terdistribusi ini pada umumnya berbasis energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT) yang dikembangkansekarang ini tidak saja untuk skala unit pembangkit dengan daya yang besar tetapi dengan daya berskala keciltetapi diharapkan dapat masif dari segi jumlah. Pembangkit tersebar ini bisa berupa Pembangkit Listrik TenagaMini/Mikro-hydro (PLTMH). Untuk mengatasi masalah tegangan turun dan rugi-rugi daya pada sebuah penyulang dapat dilakukan dengan pemasangan Static VAR Compensator(SVC). SVC merupakan peralatanyang digunakan untuk mengurangi rugi-rugi daya, meningkatkan aliran daya dan meningkatkan profil tegangansuatu sistem. Pemasangan svc pada penyulang Pujon akan disimulasikan dengan menggunakan software etap.Simulasi Pemasangan SVC dengan adanya injeksi PLTMH (pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikrohidro) berhasilmenaikkan tegangan pada penyulang Pujon. Dengan kapasitas SVC sebesar Q = 1329 KVAR pada bus 92 dan Q= 1664 KVAR pada bus 107,  penyulang Pujon  yang awalnya terdapat sekitar 66 % dari total 118 bus dengantegangan  dibawah 18 kV dimana tegangan bus terendah adalah V = 0,8872 pu. Setelah  dilakukan simulasip emasangan SVC pada bus 92 dan 107 menggunakan software ETAP, tegangan bus terendah V = 0,8872 pumenjadi V = 0,9115 pu dan Rugi-rugi daya aktif dan reaktifnya sebelum dilakukan pemasangan SVC P = 414,7kW dan Q = 244,6 kVAR menjadi P = 350,7 kW dan Q = 201,0 kVAR.Kata kunci: Pembangkit Terdistribusi, Lose Tegangan , rugi-rugi daya, PLTMH, Static VAR Compensator.ABSTRACTThe electric power system is an interconnected network that functions to distribute electricity fromgenerators to users. The Pujon feeder is a radial type feeder that is supplied with electrical energy from theSengkaling substation, Malang. The distribution of electric power is often a problem because of the scattereddistances, far from the generating center and the tendency of the medium voltage network to be inductive. Thispaper raises the study of improving the quality of voltage and power losses in the Pujon Malang feeder. Thepujon feeder is purely radial and spans 56,397 km. The alternative solutions offered to overcome the aboveproblems can be done by doing a distributed Generator Injection by utilizing the potential of distributedgeneration. Distributed power generation systems are generally based on new and renewable energy (NRE),which are currently being developed not only for large-scale power generation but with small broadcast power,but are expected to be massive from the total number. This scattered power plant can be in the form of aMini/Micro-hydro Power Plant (PLTMH). To overcome the problem of voltage and power losses in a feeder can be done by installing Static VAR Compensator (SVC). SVC is a tool used to reduce power losses, increasepower flow and improve the voltage profile of a system. The installation of SVC on the Pujon feeder will besimulated using the etap software. Simulation Installation of SVC with the injection of PLTMH (MicrohydroPower Plant) increases the voltage on the Pujon feeder. With an SVC capacity of Q = 1329 KVAR on bus 92and Q = 1664 KVAR on bus 107, the Pujon feeder which was originally located around 66% of the total 118buses with voltage below 18 kV where the lowest bus voltage was V = 0.8872 pu. After installing SVC on buses92 and 107 using ETAP software, the lowest bus voltage V = 0.8872 pu becomes V = 0.9115 pu and the activeand reactive power losses before installing SVC P = 414.7 kW and Q = 244.6 kVAR becomes P = 350.7 kW andQ = 201.0 kVAR.Keywords: Distributed Generator, Voltage drop, power losses, PLTMH, Static VAR Compensator.
