Abstract

Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (CEmONC) are maternal and neonatal essential or emergency care that aimed at saving mothers and newborns. CEmONC activities at the Hospital involve several service units so a database is needed to integrate data and information according to needs. This study aims to develop a CEmONC database model at the Regional Public Hospital of Sampang District (RSUD Kabupaten Sampang). This research was conducted through a qualitative approach with the type of research is action research in the form of developing a database model. The scope of CEmONC database development includes maternal and neonatal services. The development of the CEmONC database model uses a systems approach that is input, process, and output. The subjects in this study were Hospital Management, CEmONC Team, and Recording and Reporting Officers of RSUD Kabupaten Sampang. Analysis of the recording and reporting system of RSUD Kabupaten Sampang found several problems, which are the non-uniform register format, duplication of records, data storage that is still manual, processing reports that have not been automated and the resulting information is still limited. The results of this study are the CEmONC database prototype based on the information needs of maternal and neonatal services. The developed CEmONC database can produce the information needed by the CEmONC team so that it can be utilized for monitoring and evaluating CEmONC performance at the Hospital. Implementation of the use of the CEmONC database needs to be supported by the availability of facilities and infrastructure, qualified human resources, maintenance management systems, and training to improve the ability of CEmONC reporting officers.

Abstract

deaths and illnesses due to NCD has increased every year, so it is necessary to control NCD. NCD-based risk factor surveillance based on NCD-Integrated health care post (Posbindu) has been carried out in every Public health center (PHC) in Surabaya City, but it is still not optimal because not all PHC have Posbindu so that PTM risk factors are still not identified in each PHC working area in Surabaya City. This aims of this study to evaluate NCD risk factor surveillance system based on Posbindu surveillance attributes in Surabaya City in 2016. This study is an evaluative descriptive study. The research subject was a Posbindu-based NCD risk factor surveillance system with research informants, namely 16 program managers and 77 Posbindu cadres. Data collection was carried out by questionnaire and document study. The results showed that the NCD surveillance system in the city of Surabaya is simple, easily accepted (acceptability), has high sensitivity and stability, is timely, and produces quality data. Assessment of flexibility and positive predictive value cannot be done. The conclusion from this study is that the surveillance attributes are good enough, but there are problems in the surveillance system. Suggestions for overcoming the problem are community empowerment for the purchase of own tools compiled by Posbindu cadres, records of expert or laboratory confirmation of the results of the inspection, and maintenance of the NCD web portal network system.

Abstract

Background: Recently the data of drug, food, cosmetics, medical devices, and addictive materials surveillance use a simple database system. However, this sample has major weakness in entry data processing which in turn causing a lot of errors and delayed data report. Purpose: This study aims to develop drug, food, cosmetics, medical devices, and addictive materials surveillance database to be more accurate, fast, and generate more information. Method: This study is an observational descriptive study. This research was conducted in January-February 2018 at the port health office class 1 of Surabaya. The population used in this study 6 officers of the port health office. The type of data used is primary data by conducting in-depth interviews. This research was conducted in two steps, namely logic design (data normalization, relationship design with entity relationship diagrams, and dictionary creation) and physical planning (the database design using Epi info for Windows software). The database testing was carried out by two officers in the field of quarantine control and epidemiology surveillance, to assess the ease, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of the information produced. Results: The results showed that the trial process makes the officers easier to input data. This trial also simplifies and shortens the time of the surveillance officer in conducting data analysis. This condition promotes the report qualities (accurate, timeliness, and complete information). Conclusion: The use of epi info software can reduce the risk of data entry errors, be more accurate, faster, and the results of the analysis produced are more varied.
