Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi gas pada ransum domba berbasis rumput Gajah cv Mott dan leguminosa pohon.  Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dan menggunakan uji lanjut Duncan.  Terdapat empat perlakuan ransum dan lima ulangan.  Perlakuan teridiri atas: R1 = 70% rumput Gajah cv. Mott + 30% gamal, R2 = 70% rumput Gajah cv. Mott + 30% lamtoro, R3 = 70% rumput Gajah cv. Mott + 30% kaliandra dan R4 = 70% rumput Gajah cv. Mott + 30% indigofera.  Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian berbagai leguminosa pohon mempengaruhi produksi gas total.  Produksi gas total tertinggi diperoleh dari ransum mengandung indigofera (211,25 mL) dan lamtoro (208,06 mL). Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa indigofera maupun lamtoro merupakan leguminosa pohon terbaik sebagai pakan pelengkap pada ransum domba.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan proporsi suplemen organik cair feses kuda yang ditambahkan pada dedak padi untuk menghasilkan dedak aromatik yang terbaik dilihat dari pH, asam laktat, susut bahan kering, dan Nilai Fleigh (NF). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juni 2024 di Laboraturium Nutrisi Ternak Ruminansia dan Kimia Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 = 1 kilogram dedak + 300 gram molasses, P1 = 1 kilogram dedak + 200 gram molasses + 100 mL SOC, dan P2 = 1 kilogram dedak + 100 gram molasses + 200 mL SOC. Data analisis menggunakan Analisis Ragam dan uji lanjut Analisis Jarak Berganda Duncan. Hasil menunjukan bahwa penggunaan SOC feses kuda mempengaruhi kandungan pH, asam laktat, susut bahan kering, dan Nilai Fleigh (NF) dedak aromatik. Pemberian SOC feses kuda pada taraf 100 gram molasses + 200 mL SOC menghasilkan nilai pH yang terendah (3,61), asam laktat yang tinggi (27,17%), susut bahan kering (5,75%), dan nilai fleigh yang tinggi (204,46%).

Abstract

Formulasi ransum ruminansia saat ini tidak hanya memperhatikan pemenuhan kebutuhan nutrien mikroba rumen dan inangya, tetapi juga harus memperhatikan dampak lingkungan yang ditimbulkan oleh gas metana hasil fermentasi di dalam rumen. Pemanfaatan karbon aktif sekam padi dalam ransum domba diduga memiliki kemampuan mengikat ion hidrogen sebagai salah satu prekursor pembentuk gas metana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan karbon aktif sekam padi dakam ransum domba terhadap produksi total gas, kinetika gas, dan produksi gas metana in vitro. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat tiga perlakuan, yaitu P0 (0%), P1 (2,5%), P2 (5%) dengan enam ulangan. Data penelitian diolah dengan analisis ragam dan uji berjarak Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penambahan karbon aktif sekam padi sebanyak (2,5%) menghasilkan produksi total gas, kinetika gas, dan produksi gas metana yang relatif sama dengan P0. Penambahan karbon aktif (5%) dalam ransum meningkatkan produksi total gas, kinetika gas, dan produksi gas metana.   Kata kunci: Gas metana, Gas total, Karbon aktif, Kinetika gas, Sekam padi

Abstract

Rice bran is a by-product of rice milling that can be utilized as a growing medium for microorganisms that can be used as functional feed or feed additives. This study aims to analyze the effect of using molasses and Yakult balance in fermented rice bran on pH value, lactic acid content, dry matter loss, and Fleigh value. The research method used was experimental with a complete randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replicates. The treatments consisted of P0 (1000 g rice bran: 300 g molasses), P1 (1000 g rice bran: 200 g molasses: 100 mL diluted Yakult), P2 (1000 g rice bran: 100 g molasses: 200 mL diluted Yakult). Research data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the treatment gave a significant effect on pH value, lactic acid content, and Fleigh value (NF), but did not give a significant effect on dry matter shrinkage. Treatment P2 (1000 g rice bran: 100 g molasses: 200 mL diluted Yakult) produced the highest lactic acid content (10.98%) and Fleigh value (147.560) compared to other treatments, but also produced a pH value (5.26) and high dry matter shrinkage (5.99). The results of the study can be concluded that the production of fermented bran in 1000 g can be added molasses as much as 100 g and 200 mL of diluted Yakult.

Abstract

Fermentation of rice bran is a way to increase the nutrient content and palatability of livestock when consuming it. The study was conducted at the Ruminant Animal Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University in Jatinangor, Sumedang. This study aims to determine the effect of using Liquid Organic Supplement (LOS) of rabbit feces in making fermented rice bran on pH, dry matter loss, lactic acid content, and Fleigh value (NF). The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). There were three treatments, namely P0 (1 kg of rice bran: 300 g molasses), P1 (1 kg of rice bran: 200 g molasses: 100 g SOC of rabbit feces), and P2 (1 kg of rice bran: 100 g molasses: 200 g SOC of rabbit feces). The research data were processed using analysis of variance and Duncan's distance test. The results showed that the treatment increased the lactic acid content, but decreased the pH, dry matter loss, and Fleigh value. Treatment P2 produced fermented rice bran with the highest lactic acid content (45,8%), the lowest pH (3,99), dry matter loss (1,31%), and the highest Fleigh value (199). The conclusion of this study is that the ratio of rice bran, molasses, and SOC of 10:1:2 can produce the best fermented rice bran.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the utilization of cassava plantation waste suplemented with zinc and cobalt on ewe reproduction performance. Six pregnacy ewes were allocated at experimentrations, i.e. K1: control (50% fresh grass + 50% concentrate) and K2: 50% fresh grass + 50% cassava plantation waste + 30 ppm zinc + 5 ppm cobalt. The results showed that the concentration of zinc and cobalt in blood of ewe in group K1 and K1 were 7.03 vs 8.22 ppm and 0.48 vs 0.44 ppm, respectively, while in faeces were 147,72 vs 158.59 ppm and 8.3 vs 9.8 ppm. In addition, the concentration of alkaline phosphatase and progresterone in blood were 116 vs 196 u/l and 0.56 vs 0.59 mg/ml, respectively. The average of offsprings weight on 24 day postpartum in K1 and K2 was 3.48 vs 3.16kg. In conclusion, cassava plantation waste could be used as feed for pregnancy and lactating ewe. Supplementation of 30 ppm zinc is efectively increase the concentration of zinc and alkaline phosphatase in blood.Key words: cobalt, reproduction, cassava, zinc, ewe

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas daun Datura metel Linn. dalam mengurangi cekaman transportasi pada domba. Penelitian dilakukan 3 tahap. Tahap pertama adalah menentukan dosis yang tepat dengan perlakuan 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25%, dan pekat pada hamster melalui kemampuan berputar pada roda berputar selama 1 menit, yang diobservasi pada waktu 10, 20, 30, 60, 120, dan 180 menit pascapemberian ekstrak daun Datura metel Linn. Tahap kedua menguji efek sediaan ekstrak daun Datura metel Linn. yang diberikan pada domba pratransportasi. Tahap 3, mempelajari bentuk penyajian dengan teknik celup. Lima ukuran partikel tepung daun Datura metel Linn. yaitu 60, 60-40, 40-30, 30-20, dan 20 mesh diuji kelarutannya dalam air selama 10 menit. Data diolah dengan deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian daun Datura metel Linn. untuk semua perlakuan memberikan sensasi tenang dan bertahan sampai 180 menit. Domba yang diberi ekstrak daun Datura metel Linn. memiliki derajat stres transportasi yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan tanpa pemberian ekstrak Datura metel Linn. Ukuran mesh 20 memberikan kelarutan yang paling tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun Datura metel Linn. dapat mengurangi stres transportasi pada domba.

Abstract

In recent years, the exploration of natural supplements such as green tea extract and their potential benefits in livestock nutrition has gained considerable attention among researchers and agriculturalists. Green tea extract contains a high concentration of bioactive substances, such as polyphenols and catechins. This study aimed to explore the effects of varying doses of green tea extract on rumen fermentation parameters through an in vitro trial using sheep rumen liquids. A completely randomized experimental design was utilized to test the effect of 4 different doses of green tea extract treatments (0, 140, 280, and 560 mg/kg) on in vitro Hohenheim gas test method. The current study shows no significant effect of administering green tea extract at various doses on total gas production, total gas production per in vitro dry matter and organic matter degradability, volatile fatty acid per in vitro dry matter and organic matter degradability, methane production per inv vitro dry matter and organic matter degradability of green tea extract. Although no significant effects were observed on the investigated parameters, this study provides important insights in the understanding of the potential use of green tea extract in modulating fermentation processes in the ruminant’s stomach. In conclusion, the findings of this study underscore the impact of GTE on gas production regulation, highlighting its potential implications for gastrointestinal health

Abstract

Onggok is a by-product of tapioca flour processing which can be utilized by adding tofu making liquid waste. This study is to determine the difference and the best balance on physical properties, namely specific gravity, stack density, and stack compaction density. Carried out at the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Animal Feed Chemistry, Padjadjaran University. The study used an experimental method with a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) using five treatments and four repeats consisting of P0 (2 kg onggok: 0 liters of tofu liquid waste), P1 (2 kg ongdok: 2 liters of tofu liquid waste), P2 (2 kg onggok: 1 liter of tofu liquid waste), P3 (2 kg onggok: 700 ml of tofu liquid waste), and P4 (2 kg ongdok:  500 ml of tofu liquid waste). The results showed a noticeable effect (P<0.05) of physical properties testing. The P2 treatment produced the highest value in the specific gravity test of 1.111 g/mL, the P1 treatment produced the highest value in the pile density test of 0.237 g/mL, and the result of the stack compaction density in P1 of 0.282 g/mL. This study concluded that the addition of tofu making liquid waste can increase pile density and pile compaction density

Abstract

Fermented bran is an additive product which is an inoculum of lactic acid bacteria, which has been mixed with other ingredients and has gone through a fermentation process. This research aims to determine the effect of using sheep feces Liquid Organic Supplement (LOS) on fermented rice bran on lactic acid content, pH, dry matter loss, and Fleigh value (NF). The research was carried out on January 24 – February 14 at the Ruminant Animal Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University in Jatinangor Sumedang. The research used experimental methods with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Treatment consisted of P0 (1 kg bran: 300 g molasses), P1 (1 kg bran: 200 g molasses: 100 mL SOC) and P2 (1 kg bran: 100 g molasses: 200 mL SOC). The research data was processed using Variety Print Analysis and Duncan's Advanced Test. The results showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on lactic acid content, pH, dry matter loss, and Fleigh value. The conclusion of this research shows that the use of P2 treatment (1 kg bran: 100 g molasses: 200 mL LOS) can produce the best fermented bran.
