Abstract

Abstract. This study is an experimental research that aims to find out how the response of corn growth (Zea mays) with urea-coated zeolite as nitrogen release slowly, implemented from April to December 2017. The making of fertilizer is done in Biology Laboratory of East III Floor Department of Biology Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Makassar State University. The cultivation and maintenance of maize was conducted at Greenhouse of Ecophysiology of Seraca Crops Research Institute (Balitsereal) Maros and Analysis of nitrogen data at Soil Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Assessment Institute (BPTP) Regency. Maros South Sulawesi. This research used Randomized Block Design (RAK) 3 grouping with Control, Urea, Phosphate, Potassium (UPK), UPK Zeolite 10%, UPK Zeolit 30%, and UPK Zeolit 50%. The corn variety used was HJ 21 Agritan. Observation parameters were stem circumference, leaf chlorophyll content, plant biomass (root, stem and leaves), cob weight, ear length, seed weight, leaf nitrogen and seed nitrogen. The technique of data origin is done by using variance analysis technique (F test) / ANOVA at the level of trust α = 0,05%. Then proceed with Duncan's advanced test using SPSS statistic program 20. The results showed that there was an interaction between zeolite-coated urea fertilizer on the yield of cob and corncob with different results on the other treatment. The best results on urea-coated zeolite treatment with 10% concentration. While for stem circumference, leaf chlorophyll content, plant biomass (root, stem and leaf), seed weight, leaf nitrogen and seed nitrogen showed no effect but when viewed the average result of urea coated application of zeolite with the highest 30% concentration. Keywords: The growth of corn, the application of urea zeolite coated, slow release fertilizersp., Thalassiosira sp., Probiotic Bacteria

Abstract

In Indonesia, the high growth of population is special problem.  Because of that, the government had to done something to holding the rate population problem, that one of them is Planning Family (KB) in national program.  Increased of rate acceptor KB can give effect to contraception logistic crisis, so it can be decreased logistic supply.  By the way, the development of contraception from plant is one of alternative that can do it. Indonesia is tropical country that have richness flora.  More than 940 species that has planting and used be herbal medicine or traditional medicine and from 75th family are more than 225th plant species that used be contraception material.  One of them is sea grass (Enhalus acoroides) because it?s contained steroid, that?s can be isolated from all of body plant, like roots, rhizome, and leaf.  Fitosterol on leaf sea grass is very potential that it had to explore in biology aspect.  It?s very important in supply steroid, to be contraception material and or medicine. This research aimed to knows the influence fitosterol of sea grass (Enhalus acoroides) to fertility of Mencit (Mus musculus) male ICR.  There are four experiments (A0= control : just give it to mencit is suspension of fitosterol sea grass and A1, A2, A3 : give it to mencit  is dose of fitosterol sea grass with each experiment are 25, 50 and 75 mg/kg per mencit).  Rate of mencit in experiment are 60 mencit. The parameter of research are heavy of testis, epididimis and vesikula seminalis, rate and sperm mortality, and so conception from male mencit. Based on the results of that research has been done shows that the fitosterol of sea grass is making influence to mencit, like increasing of heavy of testis, epididimis and vesikula seminalis, and mortality of mencit.  But it can decrease of sperm rate and conception of mencit.  It?s meaning that the higher dose of fitosterol can make lower of result.

Abstract

This experimental study aimed to analyze the toxicity of the Cassia alata L. leaves extract in Pomacea canaliculata L with the concentration of the extract as independent variable and the mortality of Pomacea as the dependent one. There were two steps in this study: introductory test and main test. Both of them were done to examine LC50 (lethal concentrate) and LT50 (lethal time) using the number of mortality and its velocity during 48 hour observation. Based on the introductory study, we chose concentrate of 2,5 %; 3%; 3,5%; 4%; and 4;5% of the leaves extract for the treatment groups. Control group were not given any extract. Every group of treatment consisted of 50 Pomacea and each treatment was done 5 times so that there were 1500 Pomacea used in this study. Probit analysis was used for this study result. I then be sown that Cassia alata L. leaves extract could cause mortality of Pomacea canaliculata L which occured from 4 hour after the start of the study. The LC50 was 4,290% of leaves extract after 16 hours after the application with regression  slope Y = 2,456 + 4,561X, and the LT50 was 29,834% with Y = 0,047 + 1,976X.
