Abstract

NAPZA adalah singkatan dari Narkotika, Psikotropika, dan Zat adiktif lainnya. Penyalahgunaan narkoba di Indonesia semakin meningkat dan permasalahan yang ditimbulkan juga semakin kompleks. Kasus penyalahgunaan narkoba di Indonesia pada kalangan usia remaja tergolong tinggi menjadikan upaya penanggulangan permasalahan narkoba sangat penting. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa SMA Negeri 8 Kendari mengenai Narkotika, Psikotropika, dan Zat adiktif lainnya sehingga dapat mencegah penyalahgunaannya dikalangan siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu metode ceramah siswa mengenai pencegahan penyalahgunaan Narkotika, Psikotropika, dan Zat adiktif lainnya. Pemberian informasi kepada siswa SMA Negeri 8 Kendari menggunakan leaflet, Sesi diskusi atau tanya jawab antara siswa SMA Negeri 8 Kendari dan pemateri, Kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemahaman siswa SMA Negeri 8 Kendari mengenai pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkotika dan obat atau bahan berbahaya lainnya yang ditandai dengan peserta mampu menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh pemateri dan pertanyaan yang diberikan melalui post-test dengan tepat. Tetapi, tetap diharapkan siswa dan siswi lebih berhati-hati dalam bergaul serta diharapkan adanya edukasi kesehatan serupa tentang bahaya penyalahgunaan narkoba, serta perhatian dan pendampingan orangtua.

Abstract

Tanaman Sansevieria trifasciata Prain. diidentifikasi sebagai kandidat obat alam potensial karena kandungan senyawa kimianya, seperti polifenol, flavonoid, dan saponin. Penelitian terbaru menemukan bahwa ekstrak Sansevieria trifasciata Prain. memiliki kemampuan sebagai antibakteri. Sayangnya, eksplorasi fraksi dan aktivitas antibakteri masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai efikasi antibakteri dari fraksi etil asetat yang berasal dari Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Bacillus subtilis. Fraksi etil asetat diperoleh menggunakan metode triturasi. Uji aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode TLC-Bioautography. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat diperoleh dengan hasil sebesar 18.979% (b/v). Pemindaian fitokimia mengungkapkan keberadaan flavonoid, alkaloid, dan tanin. Uji antibakteri menunjukkan penekanan pertumbuhan bakteri pada berbagai jenis bakteri, termasuk Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Bacillus subtilis dengan diameter inhibisi masing-masing sebesar 15.30 mm, 11.10 mm, 11.50 mm, 17.20 mm, dan 14.50 mm. Berdasarkan hasil uji bioautograf, fraksi etil asetat daun Sansevieria trifaciata Prain. mempunyai potensi sebagai antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella dysenteriae, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Bacillus subtilis dengan kategori kuat.

Abstract

Sansevieria trifasciata Prain is known to contain phytochemical compounds and has the potential to treat various diseases. A systematic review was conducted by searching articles on Google Scholar, PubMed, NCBI, and Science Direct to gather information on identified chemical compounds and the pharmacological test results of S. trifasciata Prain leaves, both in vitro, in vivo, and in silico. The result showed that phytochemicals were derivatives of the flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, saponins, glycosides, polyphenols, and fatty acids groups. These phytochemicals exhibit pharmacological properties, including antidiabetic, antibacterial, anticancer, antihelminthic, antimalarial, antifungal, antioxidant, antiwound healing, antianalgesic, and antiallergic properties. Acute toxicity tests indicate that S. trifasciata Prain. is safe for use, with an LC50 value exceeding 2000 mg/kgBW. Abstract

Infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa pose a considerable challenge in terms of treatment. The bacterium's key virulence factor, particularly LecB, plays a significant role in bacterial adherence, infections, biofilm formation, and suppression of the host immune response. This study aims to assess the affinity and interactions of hesperetin analogs against LecB in P. aeruginosa. The investigation utilized the molecular docking method, employing a combination of rigid and flexible docking. The docking results successfully identified hesperetin 7-O-glucoside and hesperetin 7-O-rhamnoside, demonstrating superior binding energies compared to MJO as the reference ligand. Rigid docking indicated binding energies of -7.0 and -7.2 kcal/mol for hesperetin 7-O-glucoside and hesperetin 7-O-rhamnoside, respectively. Subsequently, flexible docking revealed lower binding energies for both compounds, reaching -10.3 kcal/mol. These top-performing compounds exhibited interactions with critical residues, including Asn70, Arg72, Thr98, Asp99, Asp96, Asn21, and Ser23, strategically positioned in LecB's substrate-binding site in P. aeruginosa. Notably, hesperetin 7-O-rhamnoside displayed an excellent ADME profile and a favorable safety profile, as it was predicted not to inhibit CYP enzymes. The hesperetin analog also met Lipinski's rules, suggesting its suitability as an oral drug. In conclusion, this research unveils the potential antibacterial activity of hesperetin analogs and provides an opportunity for experimental verification of these compounds as candidates for antibacterial drugs against P. aeruginosa.

Abstract

Pemerintah Indonesia melalui Kementerian Kesehatan telah menginisiasi berbagai program untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pengelolaan obat yang baik dan benar melalui konsep DAGUSIBU (Dapatkan, Gunakan, Simpan, dan Buang). Salah satu program dan inisiatif yang telah dijalankan yaitu kerja sama dengan apotek dan tenaga farmasi. Pada pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan pemberian informasi yang komprehensif tentang cara mendapatkan obat dengan benar, penggunaan yang tepat sesuai anjuran, penyimpanan yang aman, serta metode pembuangan yang sesuai untuk menghindari dampak negatif yang merugikan masyarakat. Pengabdian dilakukan di Klinik dan Apotek Callista Farma dengan melibatkan masyarakat sebanyak 20 orang. Metode penyampaian secara ceramah dengan media leaflet. Pretest dan posttest dilakukan untuk menilai pengetahuan awal dan hasil edukasi. Hasil pretest menunjukkan tingkat pemahaman masyarakat baik dengan persen rata-rata pengetahuan mengenai DAGUSIBU sebesar 43.30%, namun masih ada beberapa yang belum mengetahui mengenai DAGUSIBU. Informasi yang diberikan berupa tempat mendapatkan obat yang legal, cara menggunakan obat sesuai bentuk sediaan dan aturan pakai, cara menyimpan sediaan farmasi sesuai dengan aturan dan spesifikasi sediaan, serta cara memusnahkan atau membuang obat di skala rumah tangga. Posttest menunjukkan persentasi pengetahuan mengenai DAGUSIBU meningkat menjadi 99.20%. Edukasi dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai DAGUSIBU. Edukasi serupa dapat dilakukan pada fasilitas kesehatan lainnya.

Abstract

Antioxidants can either stop or slow down the excessive oxidation of a compound. This study aimed to determine the secondary metabolite compounds, antioxidant activity, total flavonoid and phenolic levels, and the correlation between the levels of flavonoid and phenolic compounds in inhibiting free radicals. The DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method was used to evaluate antioxidant activity. Determination of total flavonoid levels using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and the aluminum chloride method. The total phenolic content was determined using the Folin-Ciocalteu method. Based on the results of phytochemical screening, mango seed extract (Mangifera indica L.) contains secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolics, and tannins. The relationship between the antioxidant activity of the DPPH method and total flavonoid levels was 91.31%, respectively. The relationship between the antioxidant activity of the DPPH method and the total phenolic content was 99.64%. Abstract

Berbagai permasalahan kesehatan, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan obat, masih sering dijumpai dalam masyarakat dan dapat diakibatkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman mengenai pengelolaan dan penggunaan obat yang benar. Salah satu strategi pengelolaan obat yang efektif adalah penerapan program Dapatkan, Gunakan, Simpan, Buang (DAGUSIBU), terutama di kalangan remaja, mengingat penyalahgunaan obat-obatan di usia dini merupakan isu yang memerlukan perhatian serius. Tujuan dari sosialisasi ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada siswa usia remaja, serta meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai penggunaan obat yang tepat melalui program DAGUSIBU. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui ceramah interaktif dan diskusi mengenai cara yang tepat untuk mendapatkan, menggunakan, menyimpan, dan membuang obat pada tanggal 26 Agustus 2024, dengan peserta sebanyak 40 orang siswa SMPN 1 Konawe Selatan. Peningkatan pemahaman siswa diukur dan diamati dari tingkat antusiasme dan kemampuan dalam menjawab pertanyaan dengan benar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami peningkatan pemahaman mengenai penggunaan obat yang benar serta mengenal peran profesi apoteker. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan sosialisasi ini berlangsung dengan baik, tercermin dari tingginya antusiasme, respons positif, dan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam diskusi, yang secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman mereka. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman di kalangan remaja dan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan obat yang tepat, yang pada gilirannya dapat mengurangi risiko penyalahgunaan obat di masa depan.Kata Kunci: Edukasi Obat, Manajemen Obat, Peningkatan Kesehatan, RemajaVarious health issues, particularly those related to medication use, remain prevalent in society and are often attributed to a lack of understanding regarding proper medication management and usage. One of the effective strategies to address this issue is the implementation of the DAGUSIBU (Obtain, Use, Store, Dispose) program, particularly targeted at adolescents, as early-age drug misuse is a critical concern requiring serious attention. The primary objective of this outreach initiative is to educate adolescent students and enhance their understanding of proper medication use through the DAGUSIBU program. The program was delivered through interactive lectures and discussions with students at SMPN 1 Konawe Selatan, focusing on appropriate methods for obtaining, using, storing, and disposing of medications. The increase in students' understanding was assessed through their enthusiasm and ability to correctly respond to questions. The results indicated a notable improvement in students' comprehension of proper medication use, along with greater awareness of the pharmacist's role. Overall, the outreach program was conducted successfully, as evidenced by high levels of enthusiasm, positive feedback, and active student participation in discussions, which significantly enhanced their understanding. This initiative is expected to contribute to improving awareness and understanding among adolescents and the wider community regarding proper medication management, thereby potentially reducing the risk of drug misuse in the future.

Abstract

The public's understanding of proper medication management is critical for achieving optimal health. However, many remain unaware of correct methods for obtaining, using, storing, and disposing of medications. To address this issue, the Indonesian Ministry of Health introduced the DAGUSIBU concept. In October 2024, a community service program was conducted in Anduonohu Subdistrict, Kendari City, involving 30 randomly selected participants. Education was delivered through lectures supported by leaflet media, and participants underwent pre-tests and post-tests in a question-and-answer format. Pre-test results revealed significant gaps in knowledge about medication storage and disposal practices. The education sessions emphasized proper storage methods, including keeping medications in their original packaging, following storage instructions, avoiding direct sunlight, storing them in cool, dry places, and ensuring they are out of children's reach. Participants were also educated about monitoring expiration dates and beyond-use dates. Disposal practices were tailored to medication types: solid medications were removed from packaging and crushed, non-antibiotic syrups were poured into drains with packaging destroyed, and topical medications were separated from packaging, buried, and their packaging discarded appropriately. Post-test results indicated improved participant knowledge. The DAGUSIBU-based program successfully raised public awareness about the safe handling of pharmaceutical products. This initiative supports the Ministry of Health's efforts to foster responsible medication practices in Indonesia, contributing to safer and healthier communities

Abstract

Sansevieria trifasciata Prain has antibacterial activity, but this has been limited to extract and fraction samples. Nowadays, the prediction of toxicity and pharmacokinetics has not been reported. The aim of this study is to test the antibacterial activity of subfraction c of S. trifasciata Prain against S. aureus and provide in silico data on toxicity predictions and ADME profiles of the compounds within subfraction c. The antibacterial test method used microdilution, where the turbidity of each sample was tested spectrophotometrically to generate optical density (OD). Toxicity was assessed using ProTox-II, and ADME profiling was done through SwissADME. OD data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA (α0.05), and the absorbance data were visualized through Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values for subfraction c and the positive control were 1.95 ppm and 1.95 ppm, respectively. The inhibition percentages for both treatments were 54.30% and 100%, respectively. The LD50 values for oliveramine and tricosanoic acid were 500 mg/kg (level 4) and 3200 mg/kg (level 5), respectively. Oliveramine and tricosanoic acid are toxic to the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Both compounds meet Lipinski's rules. Oliveramine has high gastrointestinal absorption, whereas tricosanoic acid has low absorption. Oliveramine shows the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), while no permeation occurs in the brain for tricosanoic acid. Oliveramine is an inhibitor of four enzyme isoforms (CYP2C19, CYP2C9, CYP2D6, and CYP3A4), while tricosanoic acid is an inhibitor of one isoform (CYP1A2). In conclusion, subfraction c of S. trifasciata Prain can inhibit the growth of S. aureus, and the compounds suspected to play a role in this antibacterial activity are oliveramine and tricosanoic acid. Both compounds could be developed into drugs, with tricosanoic acid possibly having lower toxicity
