Abstract

Laundry industry increasingly prevalent in Malang as many students who want instant leaching process. Waste generated in the form detergent wastes directly discharged into waters such as rivers and pollute the water environment and disrupt the lives of aquatic one of tilapia. Components of detergent can cause a decrease in dissolved oxygen (DO) in the water. The low DO disrupt the process of respiration and metabolism in fish. As a result, higher mortality and physiology index values as parameters impaired metabolism of the fish. Therefore, this study  purpose to: 1) determine the influence of industrial wastes laundry detergent on mortality and physiological indices of nile tilapia (Orechromis niloticus); and 2) the concentration of industrial wastewater laundry detergent that what has the highest mortality rate. This research method is RAL 3 repetitions and 6 treatments (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%). The design of the study is only Posttest Control Design. The results showed the influence of industrial wastes laundry detergent on mortality and physiological indices of nile tilapia. The highest mortality of nile tilapia at a concentration of 5% as much as 6 tails. While the CF concentration of 0% at 1.92; 1% of 1.97; 2% of 1.95; 3% of 1.69; 4% by 1.51; and 5% of 1.23. LSI value of 0% concentration of 0.23; 1% of 0.33; 2% 0,58; 3% of 0.50; 4% 0,58; and 5% of 0.67. GSI value of 0% concentration of 0.93; 1% of 0.21; 2% of 0.28; 3% of 0.14; 4% of 0.21; and 5% by 0.26. Physiology index can be used as a biomarker of environmental biology to determine the level of pollution in waste waters. Keywords : laundry industry waste, mortality, physiological indices, nile tilapia.

Abstract

There are some local beans which were was known by Indonesian people, namely Dolichos lablabL. and PhaseoluslunatusL. This group of legume have high protein content which can be used as alternative sources of protein. This study aimed to determine the protein content of various local bean accessions of D. lablab and P. lunatuswhich collect fromMalang, Madura, Nusa Tenggara Barat, andProbolinggo. Protein analysiswas performed using AOAC 2005. The data was analysis using One-Way ANOVA. The result showed that local bean from Madura region had the highest protein content. One-Way ANOVA analysis showed that there were differences in protein levels of D. lablaband P. lunatusin each region.

Abstract

The increasing number of motorcycle will increase the air polution. For about 2900 motorcycles have increased in Blitar. Such the negative impact of the lead (Pb) was put out by vehicle’s gas emission toward human health, it needs an action to reduce Pb from the air, by utilizing the plants which can absorb Pb. The purposes of this research are to analyze the differences of the Pb contents on the Samanea saman and Tamarindus indica leaves at the street of Pojok, Sumberdiren, Bence, and Slorok and make the correlations between traffic jam and the number of stomata due to the content of Pb.This research was located in Garum Blitar on May 2015. The researcher measured the lead content in sample by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) through camouflage method. The calculation of the traffic jam used the handtaly couter. Mean while the number of stomata’s calculation was done directly by using a microscope binokuler Olympus CX21LED.The result showed that the content of Pb in Samanea saman leaves in Pojok, Sumberdiren, Bence, and Slorok were 3,24-0,76 ppm and the lead content on the Tamarindus indica leaves were 0,73-0,69 ppm. In conclusion the researcher find that much more lead were found in Samanea saman leaves. Based on the correlation test there is strong correlation in the number of pb with traffic jam and the number of stomata. Keywords:  motorcycles, lead (Pb), Samanea saman, Tamarindus indica, traffic jam

Abstract

Abstract- This study has the scope Mapping diversity Phaseolus lunatus,L., in East Java based morphometric methods and conservation strategies . Thus limitations include : 1 ) Identification and mapping diversity Phaseolus lunatus , L based on morphometric method 2 ) management strategies of Phaseolus . The results of the survey in these areas in East Java , the existence ofPhaseolus lunatus L obtained several type . as follows : Trenggalek found 4 tipes , in Ponorogo 3 types , Jombang 3 types , Malang 2 types , Probolinggo 4types  , Madura 6 types . As a whole found 16 different types of seeds . Based on  morphological characters identified guide " Descriptor for Legume , The International Plant Genetic Resources , 2004 " . Phaseolus lunatus L, from 16 types obtained , again classified by 3 types grain size . Type of large grains with a diameter of ± 12 cm , called the Inca type , medium type with a diameter of ± 8cm called type Potato , small grains with a diameter of ± 5cm called type Sieva . Keywords :inventory, Arecaceae, waterfall, Irenggolo

Abstract

Skin of the Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanni) is a spice plant, the Cinnamon can used as natural preservative, and substance addititon of food. The Cinnamons can used as a food preservative because it has antimicrobial activity, so it can inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. Content compounds of the Cinnamon is volatile oil that is mainly cinnamaldehyde, polyphenols and antioxidants which is characteristic of are bactericidal and fungistatic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various concentrations of the Cinnamons and determine the best concentration of the number of bacterial colonies, storability and the organoleptic of the Nata de Coco beverages. This type of research is True Experiment Design and design used is The Posttest Control Group Design, that is research with the treatment, and control replicates. The study design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 7 treatments (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% , 20%, 25% dan 30%) and repeated 4 times. The population in this study is at the Nata De Coco’s Substract beverages. Sample of this study is Nata de Coco taken from Pusbang Biotek Tegalgondo village, Malang city. Data were analyzed by Anova 1 factor and followed with Duncan’s test. The results showed that there is effect of various concentration of the Cinnamon to the number of bacterial colonies, storability and the characteristic organoleptic of Nata de Coco beverages. Duncan test results for a number of bacterial colonies, the best concentrations for inhibiting is 30% that are below SNI (1 x 104), whereas the best concentration for the storability is 30% which last up to 5 days. Based on the organoleptic test, preferred aroma is 5% of concentration, preferred color is 10% of concentration, and preferred flavor is 5% of concentration.  Keywords : Exstract Cinnamons, Nata De Coco, Storability, Number of Bacterial Colonies
