Abstract

Abstract

Learning badminton as part of the physical education curriculum has great potential to develop students' motor skills, coordination, and sportsmanship. However, the effectiveness of learning basic techniques—such as serving, footwork, smashing, lobbing, and netting—is highly dependent on the learning model and media used. This systematic literature review analyzed 25 studies from 2014–2024 that evaluated various badminton learning models at the school level (elementary, middle, and high school), including traditional methods (drill, demonstration), modern methods (TGFU, game-based learning, hybrid), and the use of video/multimedia media. The analysis showed that TGFU and game-based learning models most consistently produced significant improvements in basic technique mastery and tactical understanding. Serving and footwork techniques showed the highest improvements, with training effectiveness and effect sizes in the medium to large categories. Multimedia-based learning has also been shown to accelerate movement comprehension and increase student motivation. However, learning success is often limited by the condition of facilities/infrastructure, large student numbers, and teacher capacity to implement new models. Based on these findings, a blended pedagogy strategy is recommended for physical education teachers, encompassing a combination of drills, game-based learning, and visual media—supported by a performance assessment rubric and small group work—to optimally master basic badminton techniques within the context of school education. This study provides a theoretical and practical basis for developing adaptive, effective, and relevant badminton instruction that addresses student characteristics and the demands of a modern curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze innovative business models in the tennis industry through a literature review of 25 articles published between 2015 and 2025. The research method uses a literature review approach with a search process through international and national databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, DOAJ, SINTA, and Garuda. Studies that meet the criteria are analyzed using thematic analysis and narrative synthesis techniques, supported by descriptive statistics to see the trends of the findings. The results of the study indicate six main themes that dominate the development of tennis business models, namely: business model innovation, digitalization and technology utilization, service design and customer experience, revenue diversification, governance and management, and global trends in the sports industry. Quantitative analysis of 10 studies shows that the implementation of innovation has a significant impact on tennis club performance, including an increase in revenue of 44.8%, an increase in the number of new members of 40.5%, an increase in member retention of 27.4%, and an increase in customer satisfaction of 37.5%. These findings confirm that transforming a business model from a traditional approach to a digital-based model, with value-added services, and a sport-lifestyle strategy is a strategic step to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of tennis clubs in the modern sports industry. Therefore, this research contributes to the development of sports management theory and serves as a practical reference for managers and stakeholders in designing an adaptive, innovative, and sustainable tennis business model

Abstract

This study aims to develop an innovative Physical Education (PE) learning model based on modifications to basic badminton techniques to increase active student participation at SMK Negeri 7 Makassar. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method, encompassing needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited trials, and effectiveness evaluation. The study sample consisted of 20 tenth-grade students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through active participant observation, badminton skills tests (pretest–posttest), and student response questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and thematic qualitative analysis. The results showed that the learning model based on modifications to basic badminton techniques was effective in increasing student active participation across four key indicators: physical, emotional, cognitive, and social engagement. The 51.9% increase in active participation indicates that this model is able to create a more engaging and inclusive learning environment. Furthermore, there was a 60.3% increase in mastery of basic badminton techniques, indicating that modifications to the equipment, court, and rules of the game helped students understand skills in a gradual and contextual manner. Student responses to the model were also very positive, with an average score of 4.60, indicating that students felt comfortable, motivated, and actively engaged during the learning process. Overall, this learning model is feasible for implementation in physical education (PJOK) learning and has the potential to be developed in other school contexts. Further research is recommended using a larger sample size and a comparative experimental design.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students' physical competence through a traditional game-based physical activity approach. The target of the activity is 60 students in grades IV and V of SD Negeri 4 Mangkura, Makassar City. The activity is carried out in three stages: pre-activity (coordination and needs assessment), implementation (teacher training, parent counseling, and game practice), and post-activity (evaluation and dissemination). The five aspects of physical competence measured include endurance, agility, balance, leg muscle strength, and motor coordination. The measurement results showed a significant increase in all aspects, with an average pre-activity score of 58–65 increasing to 72–80 after the program was implemented. Qualitatively, there was an increase in active student participation, changes in behavior towards being more disciplined and cooperative, and increased awareness of teachers andparents regarding the importance of local culture-based physical activity. This program also succeeded in reviving interest in traditional games in the school environment. This community service proves that the PJOK learning model that integrates local cultural values through traditional games is able to improve physical competence while building student character. This activity is recommended to be expanded to other schools as part of strengthening character education and preserving culture.
