Abstract

The Natuna Gas Field has a potential gas reserve of 222 TCF, but this gas field has a very high CO, content of up to 71%. The high composition of CO, content and its location, which is too far from the market, causes the best option to use the Natuna's gas by converting it to liquid. Dimethyl Ether (DME) is a choice of liquid products that have a good potential as alternative energy for household LPG. A more in-depth study of the options for using the Natuna's gas into DME product via direct process was carried out in this study. The methodology used is initiated by determining the type of facilities needed and then conducting a process simulation to determine the mass balance, energy balance, and design of the equipment used. Process simulation and economic simulation show that the Natuna Gas Field is technically feasible to be developed into a DME product with a capacity of 1,800 MMSCFD, resulting in 21,245 MT/day DME. Upstream and downstream integration economic scheme produces a better economic result (ROI: 6.34%) compared to an upstream economic scheme (ROI: 0.63%). Apart from that, tax incentives on the downstream scheme can increase the project economy, and the scenario of tax holiday is the most beneficial for developers and the government.

Abstract

The inhibitory effect of two Indonesian green tea extracts (containing various catechins) were investigated on the corrosion of mild steel (MS) in 1M HCl medium. The anticorrosion effect was evaluated by conventional weight loss method, potentiodynamic polarisation, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) studies and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. The results evidenced that both the tea extracts act as a good corrosion inhibitor and the inhibition effi ciencies (% IE) were in good agreement for all the studies. Adsorption of green tea extract constituent was found to follow Langmuir adsorption isotherm and the calculated Gibb’s free energy values indicated the physisorption of inhibitor over the mild steel surface. SEM – EDX studies show the adsorption of catechin monomers which forms a protective layer over the mils steel surface. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis was carried out to quantify the catechin fractions in the tea extract and it was found that eight catechin monomers were present in both tea extracts. From all of monomers, it was found that four monomers were identifi ed as components responsible for controlling the dissolution of mild steel in 1 M HCl medium.

Abstract

The inhibition infl uence of Gambir extract in 1M Hidrocloric Medium on corrosion of mild steel in acidic solution was studied by weight loss measurements, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM method. It is believed that the phenolic compounds that contained in the Gambir extract in 1 M Hidrocloric medium to be responsible for the inhibition. The corrosion studies shows that Gambir extract gives an anodic type of inhibition and best at the concentration of 150 ppm. The inhibition effi ciency for weight loss measurement, potentiodynamic polarization measurement, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were 76.52, 88.28 and 66.27% respectively. SEM analysis shows that the morphology of inhibited mild steel was improved compared with uninhibited mild steel.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the phenomenon of regional expansion in Indonesia in the post-reformation era within the context of implementing regional autonomy. Regional expansion has become a crucial issue following the adoption of decentralization policies that grant greater authority to local governments. This research uses a normative legal method with statutory, historical, and conceptual approaches. The study focuses on analyzing the legal instruments governing regional expansion and the factors driving such processes. Based on the analysis, regional expansion is regulated under Article 18 of the 1945 Constitution and further reinforced by Law No. 23 of 2014 on Regional Government and Government Regulation No. 78 of 2007. The main driving factors include administrative effectiveness, desires for social homogeneity, fiscal incentives, and local elite interests. The study concludes that although regional expansion aims to improve public services and local welfare, its implementation still faces numerous challenges, including inadequate regional preparedness and the dominance of political interests. A comprehensive evaluation of expansion policies is necessary to ensure alignment with the primary goals of regional autonomy. Keywords: Regional Expansion, Regional Autonomy, Decentralization, Local Government, Post-Reformation.

Abstract

The Ngarupuk tradition is an important Hindu ritual performed before Nyepi Day as a means of purifying oneself and the environment from negative influences. The differences in the implementation of Ngarupuk in the Javanese and Balinese Hindu communities in Way Panji District, South Lampung, indicate variations in symbolism and spiritual meaning that are interesting to study. This study aims to analyze the spiritual meaning and symbolism of the Ngarupuk tradition in both communities. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The analysis is based on the theory of religious symbolism, which views rituals as a medium for conveying spiritual meaning through cultural and religious symbols. The results show that the Javanese Hindu community performs Ngarupuk simply by emphasizing a contemplative atmosphere, the use of torches, kentongan (a wooden drum), and minimalist symbols that represent the release of negative traits in humans. Meanwhile, the Balinese Hindu community performs Ngarupuk with a more complex procession through an ogoh-ogoh parade, offering rituals, and various traditional symbols that reflect the human struggle against negative forces. Despite differences in implementation, both communities share the same spiritual goals: self-purification, self-control, and strengthening one's relationship with God. The Ngarupuk tradition also plays a role in maintaining religious identity, strengthening social solidarity, and supporting harmonious multicultural life in Way Panji District. Abstract

The Kerandin River is located in North Lingga District, Lingga Regency, one of the districts in the Riau Islands Province. Geographically, Lingga Regency is situated between 0°20' N and 0°40' S and 103°30' E and 105°00' E. The residents of Kerandin Village earn their livelihood as farmers and fishermen. One of these potentials is the potential for fisheries, including both capture fisheries and aquaculture. The primary fishery commodity in Lingga Regency is the Mangrove Crab (Scylla serrata). Mangrove crabs are a fishery product with significant economic value, typically caught using pento fishing gear. Pento is a static fishing tool that requires bait to operate. People in Kerandin Village use stingrays as bait. However, one potential bait in the Kerandin River is cheap and easy to obtain but has not been used as bait, namely mullet, which will be tested as an alternative bait for catching mangrove crabs. This research used the Experimental Fishing method, and the data were analyzed using normality tests and T-tests. The research showed that the bait for belukang (Hexanematichthys sagor) produced more crab catches than the bait for stingrays (Trygon sephen). The T-test comparing these two bait types revealed a significant difference, with a value of -2.804 (df = 18) and a significance level of 0.006.

Abstract

One effort to reduce bycatch in togok is to modify the togok by creating a vent to reduce bycatch by BRD. The BRD installed on the togok was a rope BRD vent made of Polyethelene (PE) with a diameter of 2 mm. The rope BRD vent is attached to the top of the cod-end as an escape vent 25 x 50 cm. The escape vent and the stash cod-end are covered with a net with a mesh size of 5 mm. The cover net aims to collect data on fish catches that pass through the rope BRD vent. The percentage of fish that pass through the rope BRD vent can be calculated, and measure the size of the fish caught in the cod-end and covered as an indicator of the effectiveness of the rope BRD vent on togok. This experiment was carried out for 20 days of fishing operation and 40 hauls. The results showed that the catch of togok without rope BRD vent (conventional) and togok with modified rope BRD vent were different (p 0.05), where the catch of conventional togok was 468.34 kg, and the catch of modified togok was 305.235 kg. The fishing catches in the cod end and cover sections the most are bycatch with 51% and 54% of the percentage of the total catch, and the least in the cod end is the discarded catch, which is 21% of the percentage of the total catch and on the cover is the main catch (main catch) with 19% of the percentage of the total catch. The average size of the catch of togok species of fish is there are many immature sizes, and the average size of the catch of togok species of shrimp is there are in maturity size. Keywords:BycatchBycatch excluder device (BRD)DiscardMain catch
