Abstract

The ability of mathematical understanding among elementary school students is still low one of them on geometry material some students still find it difficult. As an alternative to improve the ability of mathematical understanding of RME approach. The RME approach is a learning that uses concrete objects toward abstract concepts, or learning can use shadows. The research method used experiments with pretest and postest group design. The population in the study were elementary school students in Rancakalong sub-district with the sample of SDN Pasirbenteng II as the experimental class and SDN Pasirbiru as the control class. The results of the research that the RME approach can improve the ability of mathematical understanding, the enhancement of the mathematical ability of conventional learning can be categorized similarly with RME learning, through RME approach the students give positive responses to the learning of mathematics, and the supporting factors are group learning and media help students understand the concept while the factors The inhibitor is not yet used to learning with RME and less management of the class.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang rendah. Alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut adalah pendekatan open-ended. Selain meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, ada kecenderungan bahwa pendekatan open-ended akan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengukur peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen, dengan populasi yaitu siswa SD unggul di Kecamatan Sumedang Selatan, Kabupaten Sumedang. Instrumen tes yaitu tes tulis dan intrumen nontes berupa skala sikap kepercayaan diri, lembar observasi kinerja guru dan aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian yaitu 1) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dengan pendekatan open-ended memiliki gain berkategori sedang, 2) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dengan pendekatan open-ended lebih baik daripada pendekatan konvensional, 3) peningkatan kepercayaan diri siswa dengan pendekatan open-ended memiliki gain berkategori sedang, dan 4) peningkatan kepercayaan diri siswa dengan pendekatan open-ended lebih baik daripada pendekatan konvensional.Kata kunci: Pendekatan Open-Ended, Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis, Kepercayaan Diri

Abstract

This research aims to see discovery learning based project to measure literacy science students. The methods used in this research is a method of pre-experimental. With the subject  of research grade V SDN Karapyak 1. The research design used is a draft of one group prates and pascates. The research results showed that: (1) dicovery learning based project can be implemented with very good in grade V SDN Karapyak 1. (2) discovery learning based project can improve science literacy grade V SDN Karapyak 1. (3) discovery learning based project can improve science literacy of the students in groups of high, medium and low. (4) there is a significant difference between the groups of high-medium, and high –low. While the increase in the groups medium-low difference is not significant.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SD. Pendekatan yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah pendekatan eksploratif, yang juga memiliki kecenderungan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen, dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Populasi dari penelitian ini yakni seluruh siswa kelas V SD di Kecamatan Cimalaka, dengan sampel siswa kelas V SDN Cimalaka II dan SDN Cilimbangan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, skala sikap motivasi belajar, lembar observasi kinerja guru dan aktivitas siswa, serta angket terbuka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa termasuk ke dalam kategori rendah. Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksploratif lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran secara konvensional.Kata kunci: Pendekatan eksploratif, pemecahan masalah matematis, motivasi belajar siswa

Abstract

The background of the research in the 5th grade of Primary School Randegan Wetan 1 is the discovery of the fact that the results of student learning on the material changes in the nature of the object is still low. This is because the material obtained by students is less meaningful. To overcome these problems it will be applied Contextual Teaching and Learning(CTL) model. The method used in this research is classroom action research. The subjects in this study were 5th graders of Randegan Wetan 1 Primary School, which amounted to 30 students. The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes on material changes in the properties of objects. This research process is done for three cycles because result learn student reach target at cyle III with percentage 87%. In this case it can be concluded that Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model can improve student learning outcomes

Abstract

The research placed at V grade at comparison material. Population of this research is whole of elementary school in Paseh Subdistrict, Sumedang, then the sample of population is Cijambe 2 elementary school as exsperiment class and Sidaraja elementary school as control class. The goals of this research is to knowing the effect from contextual approach with coper media support to mathematical understanding ability and study motivation, and for knowing rhe correlation between mathematical understanding ability with study motivation. This research use experiment method that compared the experiment class with control class, which have different treatment. Based on the data, it describe that contextual approach with coper media support could give more effect to mathematical understanding ability, meanwhile at study motivation contextual approach with coper media support can’t give more effect. Then, we can know that mathematical understanding ability and study motivation have strong correlation.

Abstract

Thissresearch aimssto knowwtheeincreased critical thinking abilityyand independence studentt learningg by using inquiryylearninggstrategies,  tooknowwtheddifference increase in theeabilityoof critical thinking and independence student learning from the class that uses inquiry learning strategies with the use of conventional learning. Method usediissnon-equivalentccontrolggroup design. Theppopulationiintthis study are studentoofffiveegradeelementaryyschool from Pamulihan districts. The selected sample  were students of class VAAasstheeexperimental class anddstudents of classsVB asstheecontrol class at SDN Sukalilah. Instruments used is test critical thinking ability, question form independence study, observation sheet performance teacher and student activities, anecdotal records, and interview. Research results indicates that the increased in the ability of critical thinkinggand independence studenttlearningbbyuusingginquiry learning strategies. There is an increasing difference in the ability of critical thinking from the class that uses inquiry learning strategies with the use of conventional learning. There is no difference in the increase independence student learning from the class that uses inquiry learning strategies with the use of conventional learning.

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan berdasarkan permasalahan di kelas IV SDN Gudangkopi II. Permasalahan terdapat pada siswa dalam mempelajari kompetensi dasar “Menjelaskan kembali secara lisan atau tulis penjelasan tentang simbol daerah/lambang korp”. Siswa belum maksimal dalam menyimak untuk menjelaskan simbol daerah/korp. Hal ini terbukti dari sedikitnya siswa yang mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal. Untuk mengatasinya, dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas menggunakan model penelitian Kemmis dan Taggart. Pengembangan media pembelajaranpun dilakukan, yaitu dengan penggunaan media TEGA (Teka-teki Gambar dan Audio). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, angket, tes hasil belajar siswa, dan catatan lapangan. Pada akhir penelitian, diperoleh nilai hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas siswa, kinerja guru dalam perencanaan dan proses meningkat bahkan melebihi target yang ditentukan. Pada siklus III, sebagian besar siswa berhasil tuntas. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media TEGA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam materi menyimak untuk menjelaskan simbol daerah/korp di kelas IV SDN Gudangkopi II.Kata Kunci: Media TEGA (Teka-teki Gambar dan Audio), Keterampilan Menyimak

Abstract

According to the result of observation toward the V grade student of Karangpawulang Elementary School, shows the study result of History Character in Hindu, Budha and Islam era Material is still under KKM, 70. In the research used Index Card Match Active Learning Strategy for increase the process and result of study. The research uses PTK methods, and the research design refers to Kemmis and Taggart that consists of planning, tinfakan, observation and reflection. As for the observation instrument that used are guidelines observation, interview,  field notes, and student study result. According to the research that has done, it can be concluded that the application of Index Card Match Active Learning Strategy can increase the student study result of History Character in Hindu, Budha and Islam era Material. That is proven by the attainment result target, 90% of total student reach KKM, 95% of student Declared complete in that learning.

Abstract

The low rate of problem solving ability and student learning motivation are the one of background of this research. The purpose of research is to know the influence of open ended approach against that. This is research used experimental method. The sample of this research is the five grade students in Gunungsari I elementary school as the experimental group and Ranjikulon I elementary school as the control group. The result of this research is: (1) open ended approach affect the ability of problem solving and student learning motivation; (2) mathematical learning with open ended approach is better than conventional approach in term of increase the problem solving ability and student learning motivation; (3) there is a positive relationships between problem solving ability and student learning motivation; and (4) the supporting factor of learning using open ended approach is the teacher’s ability in presenting open problem, observation, and interview. Meanwhile the inhibiting factors is that the student not used to the open problem.
