Abstract

. Outpatient installation services are a reflection of the services of a hospital. Several hospitals have implemented Lean Hospital for outpatient patient services. Lean Hospital is used to improve the quality of service to patients by reducing waste such as waste of waiting, defects, transportation, motion, inventory, and others. This study aims to analyze the impact of Lean Hospital implementation on outpatient patient care in hospitals in Indonesia. This research method uses the literature review method which is sourced from several online sites such as Google Scholar and journal databases, such as Garuda. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the implementation of Lean Hospital in outpatient services in hospitals has a positive impact on patients and health care workers, namely being able to identify and minimize waste and shorten the flow of patient services in all outpatient service units so as to reduce waiting time. In addition, the implementation of Lean Hospital also has a direct impact on a hospital's services, namely being able to improve service quality by providing better, faster, but cheaper (efficient) services and can increase patient satisfaction with hospital services.

Abstract

Hospital quality must be improved for the benefit of patients because the main task of a hospital or health care facility is to provide medical services to patients. The laboratory is part of the medical service that provides services such as making a diagnosis, providing treatment, monitoring the results of treatment, and establishing a patient's diagnosis. This article was prepared using the literature review method by outlining the contents of the research results that already existed and in accordance with the topic of discussion regarding the analysis of the application of lean six sigma in increasing the effectiveness of hospital laboratories with the lean method using Google Scholar, Emerald, and Pubmed with the keywords lean six sigma, laboratory, and hospital or lean six sigma, laboratory, and hospital. Based on the results of the literature review, it was found that the activities carried out in the laboratory still show activities that do not generate added value or waste. This is because the technique for handling examination specimens sent from inpatients and the emergency room has not been effective, and the mechanism for handing over specimens between health workers has not been effective. Research (Ibrahim et al., 2022) shows the implementation of lean six sigma can improve the timeliness of inpatients for routine CBC tests in the laboratory and minimize patient dissatisfaction.

Abstract

Long waiting time is one component that has the potential to cause patient dissatisfaction. If the waiting time is long, it will reduce patient comfort and affect patient utility in the future. The method used in this research is Literature Review, namely by collecting and processing research data that has existed before with the 2018-2022 range. The results of this study found that there was a waiting time for drugs, both concoctions and standard drugs, that were not in accordance with the minimum service standards, so that waste was found. There are various types of waste that are found resulting in long drug waiting times such as too many processes to the long process of submitting drug prescriptions to pharmaceutical installations, which causes many inefficient and ineffective activities to arise. Based on this, there is a waiting time for drugs, both concoctions and standard drugs, that are not in accordance with the minimum service standards, so that waste is found. Thus the length of waiting time in preparing the drug is influenced by several factors such as speed and completeness of patient data up to re-submission which takes a lot of time.

Abstract

The background of this Literature Review is based on stagnant events and stockouts of certain drugs at health care facilities in Jabodetabek which have had a detrimental impact on the location concerned. This study is used to analyze the management of drug logistics management in health care facilities in Jabodetabek. The Literature Review method uses 7 article sources from Google Scholar using the keywords drug procurement, logistics management, and hospital. The results obtained were that in several research locations there were several problems such as drug reserves, drug distribution, to the withdrawal and destruction of drugs which were directly related to the implementation of logistics management. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the management of logistics management of medicines in health care facilities in Jabodetabek is one of the conditions that must be carried out by every health service and is useful in providing good quality health services. If logistics management is carried out properly, this can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of services in health facilities and special attention is needed from various sectors to carry out logistics management of medicines in health care facilities according to existing standards.

Abstract

The hospital is an important organization and is engaged in providing health services  that focus not only on medical service issues but also on non-medical service issues. The hospital guarantees the availability of medical devices to the availability of equipment that can affect the  quality of health services provided, including patient satisfaction. Therefore the purpose of this  study is to determine the analysis of the procurement of medical equipment logistics in hospitals.  The method used in this research is literature review from seven national journals obtained using  online database facilities via Google pages scholar and researchgate. The selected journal is based on its publication published from 2018-2023. The research results show that the analysis of logistics planning and procurement activities of medical devices in several hospitals in Indonesia  have various differences. The difference consists of hospitals that already have a plan logistics is good and some are not running perfectly. Procurement of medical devices that have not been good  due to several factors, one of which is an inadequate budget. So that management or logistics  management of medical devices is needed in hospitals so that medical devices are always available  in accordance with quality standards hospital health.

Abstract

Optimal service at the Emergency Department (ED) is crucial considering that every action must be effective and efficient in line with the philosophy of "Time Saving it's Life Saving". However, issues such as long waiting times, inefficient patient flow, and lack of coordination among medical teams often occur. This research aims to review various studies and best practices implemented in applying Lean Six Sigma at the Emergency Department. The literature review method utilized sources from online databases spanning the period 2020-2024. The research findings indicate that Lean Hospital can significantly reduce patient waiting times and enhance ED service efficiency, exemplified by its implementation at the ED of RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Tegal, which reduced waiting times from 69.9 minutes to 51.5 minutes. This implementation also involved strategies such as adding radiology slots and reserving inpatient beds. In conclusion, the application of Lean Hospital in ED has proven effective in improving service quality and efficiency, as well as enhancing patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Logistics management in healthcare plays an important role in improving operational efficiency and the quality of patient service. This article discusses strategies for optimizing logistics management, such as the use of health information technology, innovations in logistics systems, and procurement with umbrella contract methods. The aim of this research is to explore how logistics management can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health care. The research method used is the study of literature to analyze various strategies for optimizing logistical management in health care. The research uses the method of systematic review by studying five elective articles within the period of publication of the last five years. Research results show that optimizing logistics management can help improve the quality of health care and patient satisfaction. Despite this, there are still challenges, such as the problem of the storage of goods, fluctuating needs for medical equipment, and problems in human resource management. Efforts are needed to address these challenges so that logistics management can be optimized in support of effective health care. In conclusion, good logistical management in healthcare can bring great benefits in terms of improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the quality of patient service.

Abstract

The quality of hospital services will affect patient satisfaction and also their loyalty in using these facilities and the rapid development of health services currently requires hospital managers to run their business well. in the hospital. This study uses the method of literature review (literature review) with search engines used in literature searches including Google Scholar and Research gate with the keywords Service Quality Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, Hospitals. The resulting articles were selected based on publications published between 2018 and 2023. The results showed that the application of lean six sigma in hospitals in improving the quality of their services can be carried out through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach. The conclusions of this study indicate that the application of lean six sigma can reduce difficulties, increase speed, and separate activities that have added value or value added from activities that have no added value or non-value added in hospitals, such as improving service quality by setting priorities by according to the highest gap required by the patient.

Abstract

Penerapan Lean Six Sigma menjadi metode yang efektif dalam mengurangi pemborosan di fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan. Lean Six Sigma adalah pendekatan yang menggabungkan pemikiran Lean dan metodologi Six Sigma yang telah digunakan secara luas dalam industri produksi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas proses. Konsep ini juga semakin populer di bidang kesehatan. Metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) digunakan untuk menemukan dan mengatasi masalah limbah seperti kesalahan limbah, produksi berlebihan, menunggu, transportasi, stok, dan pengolahan tambahan. Metode ini telah terbukti meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas layanan, serta mengidentifikasi berbagai jenis pemborosan yang terjadi dalam proses pelayanan kesehatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meninjau lebih lanjut mengenai pengaruh penerapan lean six sigma terhadap waste di fasilitas pelayanan Kesehatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review untuk mensintesis informasi dari artikel terkait melalui database google scholar dan pubmed dalam kurun waktu penelitian lima tahun terakhir. Dari hasil penyaringan dan penyesuaian kelayakan serta tujuan penelitian didapatkan hasil lima artikel terpilih untuk dilakukan kajian literatur. Hasil dari pencarian artikel diseleksi menurut kesesuaian dengan tujuan penelitian selanjutnya dilakukan tahap seleksi yang menghasilkan lima artikel yang memenuhi kriteria kelayakan dan kesesuaian dengan topik penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengurangan waktu tunggu pasien, peningkatan layanan, dan kelengkapan rekam medis adalah beberapa perbaikan yang disarankan. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini bahwa metode Lean Six Sigma efektif meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas pelayanan di fasilitas kesehatan, sehingga meningkatkan pelayanan pasien dan efisiensi operasional.

Abstract

Peran laboratorium dalam kesehatan, terutama dalam diagnosis, penilaian risiko penyakit, dan pemantauan perkembangan penyakit pasien, sangat lah vital. Kecepatan pelayanan laboratorium merupakan salah satu faktor krusial yang memengaruhi pelayanan kesehatan di rumah sakit. Jika tidak optimal, dapat berdampak negatif pada layanan rumah sakit. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerapan Lean Six Sigma untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pelayanan laboratorium di Rumah Sakit. Metode: menggunakan pendekatan kajian literature review dengan Tujuan: mengetahui penerapan lean six sigma di laboratorium sebagai upaya untuk mengoptimalkan pelayanan rumah sakit. Simpulan: penerapan LSS pada pelayanan laboratorium RS menjadi salah satu indikator keberhasilan dalam terciptanya pelayanan laboratorium yang bermutu hal ini dilihat dari metode six sigma digunakan sebagai istilah statistik yang menunjukan tingkat penyimpangan proses dari keunggulan, dimana memungkinkan penemuan akan kecacatan dari produk maupun proses itu sendiri. Sedangkan metode lean bertujuan untuk mengurangi pemborosan dan meningkatkan nilai tambah produk atau jasa agar memberikan nilai kepada pelanggan.
