Abstract

As the world’s third-largest cocoa beans producer, Indonesia is expected to have a comparative advantage and to become cocoa beans price reference. This research investigates market power of Indonesia cocoa beans export for the United State market as an impact of an export tax. Five cocoa beans exporting countries namely Cote d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Ghana, Dominica Rep and Nigeria are calculated their market power as Indonesia’s competitors by estimating residual demand elasticity with two stage least square method. The results show that Indonesia’s market power suffered after imposing the export tax. Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana get advantages from this export restriction. The effect of export tax on welfare is analyzed by calculating terms of trade. The gain from cocoa beans trade depicts a declining terms of trade for dealing with the international cocoa beans market.

Abstract

This research has the aim to analyze the factors which give impact in ratio of NPL (Non Performing Loan) in XYZ Bank Jakarta. NPL can be caused by the internal factors such as policies, human capitals, etc., and can be caused by external factors through macro-economic changes such as loan-outstanding, BI rate, and foreign exchange (Indonesia Rupiah to US Dollar). This research is a descriptive research with direct approach to the primary and secondary data. The analysis method was using the multiple linear regression method with data time series from June 2008 to June 2014. The multiple linear regression method was used to see the impacts of volume of loan-outstanding, BI rate, and foreign exchange to NPL ratio, and testing differences between level of NPL before and after the separation of RM (Relationship Manager) and CA (Credit Analyst) function in Bank XYZ Jakarta.  All of data processing steps in this research use software Eviews Version 6.0. The result of this research are Loan-outstanding or number of lending, foreign exchange and the dummy of RM and CA separation function have impact to NPL Ratio. The BI-rate change which was happened along the research gives no impact to NPL Ratio. The NPL Ratio is relatively better and it is not affected of the increasing of BI rate.  It is not only because of performing loans but also caused by the existing write-off portfolios. Keywords: NPL, loan-outstanding, BI rate, foreign exchange, the separation of RM, credit analystABSTRAKPenelitian ini memiliki tujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ratio NPL pada Bank XYZ Jakarta.

Abstract

The inclusion of Indonesia as a net importer of oil, gas and high energy expenditure compared with oil and gas revenues is because of the lack of investment in upstream oil and gas in Indonesia. Indonesian oil and gas potential is relatively large, especially within eastern Indonesia. Taking into the account of the financial condition, risk and technological capabilities, the state still needs FDI to increase the upstream oil and gas operations in Indonesia. This study examined the FDI determinants by using panel data regression from 2003 until 2013 with a cross section of 82 mining areas. In addition, this study also analyzed the impact of FDI on energy security (proxy production) and state revenues, then compared them with domestic direct investment (DDI) represented by the state. Based on the data regression panel results, the variables which have positive influences on FDI were infrastructure, technology, education, corruption free index, raw oil price, oil and gas reservation, and BPMIGAS dispersion. Meanwhile, variables which hold negative influences were the market size, inflation, and economical openness. FDI holds positive impact on the state production and revenue level, nevertheless, from the production side, DDI gave bigger impact compared to FDI.Keywords: determinants, impact, FDI upstream oil and gas industry, and panel data

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to examine: (i) the influence of land certification on land price and e factors that affect land price and (ii) the influence of land titling program on the socioeconomic conditions of the society; and (iii) to formulate a framework for developing a better land certification program in the study area. This study used the quantitative analysis (statistical comparison and regression) and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the land titling, distance to the center of regional development, and regional economic development level (GDP) significantly increase the price of land in Sukoharjo District. Legality of land assets through land certificates can potentially increase the value of land, giving the community the security toward its assets of land and improve the people's access to financial institutions. This indicates that titling improves socio-economic conditions and social welfare of landowners. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structural relationship between travel constraints and destination image on tourist loyalty. This was conducted in July-August 2019 in Tenjolaya Subdistrict and Pamijahan Subdistrict. The analysis using the PLS SEM method gives the result that the X3 construct (travel constraint) has a significant negative effect (-0.443) in influencing the X8 construct (visitor loyalty) as reflected in the interest in returning visits. This negative value is greater than the structural effect of the X4 construct (sense of place) which is only 0.390. It can be concluded that the destination that only relies on natural conditions has no significant effect on tourists' interest in making return visits if they have traveling constrain to the site. Abstract

Microfinance is one of the solutions in poverty alleviation in rural areas. The existence of financial access in a rural area, with hope, low-income society can increase their revenues and eventually able to escape the circle of poverty. The agribusiness microfinance institution is the institution that provides financing services to farmers in rural areas. However, agribusiness microfinance institution is facing sustainability problems. We analyzed financial sustainability in terms of the cost-efficiency of the Agribusiness Microfinance Institution (AMFI). The study utilized a parametric approach method of Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, namely AMFI possessing two years of financial reports (in the year 2016-2017) around Bogor District, there were fifteen AMFIs qualified. The result indicates AMFIs' efficiency value in Bogor District almost approaching 100%. It means that the AMFIs' financial performance in Bogor District was highly efficient. Labor cost is a very responsive variable in the total cost. However, AMFIs' labor cost was low. This matter caused administrator performance in servicing their customers to become not optimal, thus impacting the unsustainability of AMFI.JEL Classification: G21, G23DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/jkdp.v23i4.3591
