Abstract

Permasalahan gizi pada bayi dan balita di Puskesmas Medan Deli adalah kasus gizi buruk terbanyak di Kota Medan sebanyak 8 orang. Program penanggulangan gizi buruk merupakan kegiatan untuk meminimalkan masalah gizi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi program penanggulanan gizi buruk yang terdiri dari input, proses, output, dan outcome di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Medan Deli. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi terhadap 10 informan. Penelitian menemukan bahwa dari segi input, kurangnya Tenaga Pelaksana Gizi (TPG). Segi sarana dan prasarana tergolong minim. Biaya operasional terbatas, biaya operasional berasal dari BOK dalam bentuk insentif kader dan dana transportasi. Pelaksanaan program gizi buruk rutin dilakukan setiap bulan di Posyandu. Pemberian vitamin A dua kali setahun pada balita gizi buruk, Pemberian tablet Fe pada ibu hamil selama 3 bulan berturut-turut dilakukan di posyandu dan puskesmas. Pelaksanaan PMT Pemulihan sudah diberikan tepat sasaran tetapi kekurangan tenaga kesehatan untuk pemantauan konsumsi. Pusat Pemulihan Gizi (PPG) sebagai wadah dalam penanganan gizi buruk pada balita melalui rawat inap belum dimanfaatkan. Cakupan program penanggulangan balita gizi buruk belum mencapai target dalam pemberian vitamin A, tablet Fe dan PPG sehingga kasus gizi buruk masih tinggi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian bahwa masih belum terlaksana dengan baik program penanggulangan gizi buruk di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Medan Deli sehingga Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kota Medan dan puskesmas diharapkan meningkatkan komitmen dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan penanggulangan gizi buruk.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the supervisory and directing functions of nurse managers with the implementation of patient safety at the Special UPTD at the Prof. Mental Hospital. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem. The design of this research is cross-sectional which is included in the type of quantitative observational research. Determining the number of samples used the Slovin formula and the number of samples was 108 people. Sampling used proportional sampling technique. The data collection process uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Analysis uses Chi-Square statistical correlation. Based on the research results, it was found that the supervision and direction functions had been carried out well by the nurse manager. The implementation of patient safety has been carried out by the nurses well and there is a relationship between the supervision and direction function with the implementation of patient safety at the UPTD Special for Prof. Mental Hospital. Dr. Muhammad Idrem. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the supervisory and directing functions carried out by the nurse manager on the good implementation of patient safety by nurses at the Special UPTD at the Prof. Mental Hospital. Abstract

Pendahuluan; Dismenore merupakan nyeri perut pada bagian bawah yang berasal dari kram rahim yang terjadi pada saat haid. Dismenore pada remaja putri ini tidak berbahaya namun dapat berdampak negatif pada remaja putri, yaitu seperti aktivitas menjadi terbatas, meningkatnya emosi yang negatif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, bahkan dapat menyebabkan ketidakhadiran di sekolah. Tujuan; untuk mengetahui hubungan konsumsi asam lemak omega-3 dan status gizi dengan dismenore pada remaja putri di SMP N 2 Sei Bamban. Bahan dan Metode; jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif observasional dengan menggunakan desain cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswi remaja putri di SMP N 2 Sei Bamban yang berjumlah 321 siswi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportional stratified random sampling, sehingga sampel pada penelitian ini diperoleh sebanyak 84 orang. Konsumsi asam lemak omega-3 diperoleh menggunakan formulir food recall 24 jam, kemudian pengukuran status gizi diperoleh berdasarkan perhitungan IMT/U dengan menggunakan WHO Antroplus yaitu dengan mengukur tinggi badan dan berat badan dan untuk pengukuran dismenore diukur menggunakan Numeric Rating Scale. Hasil; penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa ada hubungan konsumsi asam lemak omega-3 dengan dismenore (p = 0,001) dan tidak ada hubungan status gizi dengan dismenore (p = 0,683). Kesimpulan; ada hubungan konsumsi asam lemak omega-3 dengan dismenore. Tidak ada hubungan status gizi dengan dismenore.

Abstract

The waist-hip ratio (WHR) is the comparison between an individual's waist circumference and hip circumference. This ratio is frequently used in health research to assess body fat distribution and can indicate health risks associated with obesity. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and physical activity with the waist-hip ratio among students of MAS Plus Al-Ulum Medan. This research employs a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The results indicate that most students consume excessive amounts of sugar (≥50 grams/day) and have low levels of physical activity. Bivariate analysis using Spearman's rank correlation showed a significant relationship between the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and WHR, with a strong and positive correlation. Additionally, there is a significant relationship between the level of physical activity and WHR, with a strong and inverse correlation. Students of MAS Plus Al-Ulum Medan are encouraged to reduce their consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and increase their physical activity. Keywords: SSB’s, physical activity, WHR, adolescents

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze changes in body weight after an intervention. The research design was a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test with a sample of 40 wasting toddlers divided into a group that received tuna meatballs mixed with moringa leaves supplemented with nutrition education and a group that received nutrition education only for 4 weeks. The test results obtained an average weight gain in the first group was 0.79 kg and in the second group was 0.37 kg. The study conclude that meatballs consumption and nutrition education can increase nutritional intake and weight gain in wasted toddlers.

Abstract

Backround: Non-communicable diseases arise in the elderly. The degenerative cycle decreases the resistance of the body, so that it is vulnerable to infectious diseases. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is characterized by chronic hyperglycemia and impaired carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins metabolism caused by complete or partial insufficiency of insulin secretion and/or insulin action. This study aimed to examine the risk factors of type 2 DM among elderly at Muhammadiyah General Hospital, North Sumatera.Subjects dan Method: This was a case control study carried out at Muhammadiyah Hospital, North Sumatera, in 2018. Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is characterized by elevated blood glucose levels above normal, with random blood glucose levels ≥ 200 mg/dl and fasting blood glucose levels ≥ 126 mg/dl. This study employed a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design and an equivalent control group design approach. The study utilized power analysis with consecutive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques involved distributing questionnaires to 74 diabetes mellitus patients in the Onolalu Health Center Working Area, South Nias District. Data analysis techniques used independent t-test statistical analysis and presented in the form of a T-test table. The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of self-care behavior on blood sugar control levels in type II diabetes mellitus patients in the Onolalu Health Center Working Area, South Nias Regency, with a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.024 < 0.05. Therefore, in the independent sample t-test, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (HO) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant (statistically significant) difference between the average blood sugar levels of type II diabetes mellitus patients in the intervention group and the control group.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Obesity in Indonesia in 2018 one in three adults (35.5% or 64.4 million) lived with overweight or obesity. The results of the 2023 SKI survey show that there is an increase in the prevalence of obesity in adults in Indonesia over the age of 18 years. In 2018 the proportion of obesity was 21.8 percent and in 2023 it increased to 23.4 percent. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sugar sweetend beverages consumption, screentime, and exercise habits with the incidence of obesity in employees at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of North Sumatra. The type of research is quantitative with a case-control design. The population is all employees with a sample of 74 cases who have an obese body mass index and 74 normal employees. Data collection through questionnaires. Bivariate data was analyzed using the chi square test. The results showed that the consumption of sugar sweetened beverages p value <0.001, screentime p value <0.001, and exercise habits p value <0.001. All variables had a significant relationship with the incidence of obesity. It is recommended to all employees to maintain a drink consumption pattern with added sweeteners, reduce staring at screens outside of working hours, and exercise regularly. Keywords: Obesity, Employees, Lifestyle  ABSTRAK Obesitas di Indonesia pada tahun 2018 satu dari tiga orang dewasa (35,5% atau 64,4 juta) hidup dengan kelebihan berat badan atau obesitas. Hasil survei SKI 2023 menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan prevalensi obesitas pada dewasa di Indonesia dengan usia lebih dari 18 tahun. Pada tahun 2018 proporsi obesitas sebesar 21,8 persen dan tahun 2023 meningkat menjadi 23,4 persen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan konsumsi sugar sweetend beverages, screentime, dan kebiasaaan berolahraga dengan kejadian obesitas pada pegawai di Kanwil Kemenkumham Sumatera Utara. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitaif dengan desain case-control. Populasi adalah seluruh pegawai dengan sampel kasus sebanyak 74 pegawai yang memiliki indeks massa tubuh obesitas dan 74 orang pegawai normal. Pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner. Data bivariat dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsumsi sugar sweetened beverages p value <0,001, screentime p value <0,001, dan kebiasaan berolahraga p value <0,001. Semua variable memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kejadian obesitas. Disarankan kepada seluruh pegawai perlu menjaga pola konsumsi minuman dengan tambahan pemanis, mengurangi menatap layar diluar jam kerja, dan rutin berolahraga. Kata Kunci: Obesitas, Pegawai, Gaya Hidup

Abstract

Most adolescents are prone to risky eating behaviors, which are unhealthy and nutritionally imbalanced. Dietary behaviors and eating habits are still developing in adolescents; therefore, it is important to encourage them against adopting risky eating behaviors to prevent various future health problems, such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, and coronary heart disease. This study aims to analyze the association between preference towards food content on social media and the level of risky eating behavior among high school students in Medan. The sample size in this cross-sectional study was 334 high school students selected by simple random sampling. Data were then analyzed using the chi-square test. The results indicated that there was a significant association between preference toward food content on social media and risky eating behavior among high school students in Medan (p<0.001). High school students with negative preferences, who prefer to watch and follow popular or trending but unhealthy food content on social media, had a 2.188 (95% CI: 1.703–2.811) times greater risk of adopting more severe levels of risky eating behavior than those with positive preferences. The health department is suggested to collaborate with schools and parents in implementing social media literacy programs aimed at educating high school students to be more discerning in watching food content on social media while still considering nutritional value and learning about the impact of their preferred foods.

Abstract

SSGI (Nutritional Status Study of Indonesia) survey in 2021 found that prevalence of stunted infants in Sumatera Utara province is still higher (25.8%) than the national limit. It is known that stunting is multifactorial condition with breastmilk/weaning food feeding behavior as one of the contributing factor. Furthermore, family’s attitude toward consuming wide variety diets is also considered as factors related to stunting. Secondary data from SSGI 2021 involving 10,755 households was used in this study. STATA application was used to help analyzing the data. Statistical analysis was conducted by using Chi Square and showed that breastmilk/weaning food feeding behavior, and varied diets in family were not contributing factors of stunting in Sumatera Utara province. However, we found that educational background was significant contributing factor to stunting (p = 0.000). We suggest that other approach, such as qualitative measure may be used in future study to investigate factors attributable to stunting.
