Abstract

This research was conducted because, in Social Science learning, the teaching methods used are still limited to lectures and assignments, which tend to be monotonous. This monotonous learning approach leads to a lack of active involvement of students in the teaching and learning process so students are not interested in the material presented which have an impact on their learning outcomes. To overcome this problem, researchers tried to make improvements by applying the Team Games Tournament type cooperative learning model in Social Science learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Team Games Tournament model in social studies learning for grade IV students. This study used a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experiment design with a Group Pretest-Posttest model. Data collection was carried out through learning outcomes tests and questionnaires. The subjects of the study consisted of 20 grade IV students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, with hypothesis testing in the form of a Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the average score on the pretest and posttest. On the pretest, the average score of students was in the very low category, which was 42.25 with a standard deviation of 19.566. However, in the posttest, there was a significant increase, with the average score of students reaching the high category, which is 79.25 with a standard deviation of 12.698. In addition, there was an increase in the number of students who achieved minimum completeness scores (KKM) from pretest to posttest, from 2 students to 13 students. The results of the hypothesis test showed that there was a significant difference between the average scores before and after the application of the team games tournament learning model. In addition, the results of the questionnaire also showed a positive and enthusiastic response of students to the application of the learning model. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the team games tournament learning model is effective and can be applied in class IV MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun in learning Social Sciences. Abstract

This research was conducted at MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun, Indramayu, using qualitative research methods to obtain data. The data collection techniques used include observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was done by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of audio-visual learning media succeeded in increasing the learning activeness of Akidah Akhlak fifth grade students at MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun. This is evident from the increase in student participation in asking questions and discussing, as well as students' sense of responsibility for the material provided by the teacher. This has a significant positive impact in increasing student activeness. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of audiovisual learning media in Akidah Akhlak learning in class V-B-05 MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun is very instrumental in increasing student activeness during the learning process. And the supporting and inhibiting factors of audiovsisual media include the availability of adequate learning media, teachers who are skilled and experienced in utilizing learning media, as well as creative and innovative learning methods, such as the use of learning videos and animations. And the inhibiting factors include technical problems such as internet connection interruptions or device damage that can hinder the smooth learning process based on audiovisual media. Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation of character education focused on tolerance for fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun. The method used is descriptive qualitative, employing observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results of the research show that the implementation of tolerance character education is carried out through learning activities, interactions between students, and extracurricular programs that support tolerance values. These findings emphasize the importance of an inclusive and collaborative school environment in shaping students' character. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference for other educational institutions in implementing character education aligned with tolerance values in daily life. From the research conducted, it can be understood that tolerance character is not only taught theoretically in schools but is also truly practiced in daily life, both at school, in dormitories, and in public places. Abstract

Reading is a way to explore information and knowledge from written texts in order to gain extensive knowledge and new experiences. Success in learning to read at school has an influence on literacy development and students' overall learning abilities. Therefore, teachers need to apply appropriate strategies to attract students' interest so that they are more enthusiastic in the process of learning to read. This research aims to find out these strategies and find out the supporting and inhibiting factors for teacher strategies in improving the beginning reading skills of grade 1 students. This research uses a qualitative, descriptive approach. The research sample consisted of 1 teacher and 13 students selected by purposive sampling. Researchers act as key instruments with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation and tests, then analyzed by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that: 1) The strategies applied by teachers to improve beginning reading skills include: bottom-up, top-down and reading aloud strategies. It can be concluded that the initial reading strategies implemented by grade 1 teachers are quite varied and effective in improving the initial reading abilities of grade 1 students at Kita Cibanoang School. 2) Supporting factors for teacher strategies in improving initial reading skills, namely, infrastructure, parental support and school policies. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor for teachers' strategies in improving initial reading skills is that there is no special scheduling for reading outside of effective learning hours. Abstract

This research analyses the character building of responsibility in boarding school for grade IV students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun. The purpose of this research is to find out how the boarding school life activities of grade IV students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun as well as how Ma'had Al-Zaytun Educational Institution in shaping the responsibility character of grade IV students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun through boarding school life activities. The research method used by the researcher is to use a qualitative research approach, with the type of research chosen, namely case studies and field research. With data search procedures through interview techniques, observation and documentation. The sampling technique with purposive sampling technique. Observations made by researchers are with passive participation techniques. For data analysis using the concept of Miles and Huberman. And to check the validity of the data through the source triangulation test. The results of this study show that boarding school life activities for fourth grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun refer to the unsyitoh yaumiyah (daily activities) of students from waking up to sleeping again which is routinely carried out from 04.30 to 19.30, coupled with development activities from the unsyitoh yaumiyah programme. As for the formation of responsibility character in grade IV students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun, which includes the formation of responsibility character as follows: 1) Character building of responsibility towards God Almighty 2) Character building of responsibility towards oneself 3) Character building of responsibility for the social environment / society 4) Formation of character responsibility towards others 5) Formation of character responsibility towards the state Keywords: Responsibility Character, Boarding School

Abstract

The readiness of PGMI students of the 2021 batch of IAI AL-AZIS to become prospective professional teachers is a key factor in ensuring their success as educators in the future. A prospective professional teacher is expected to have adequate abilities based on learning achievements and four main competencies, namely pedagogical, social, personality, and professional competencies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the readiness of PGMI students of 2021 to become professional teachers in terms of physical and mental aspects and to analyze the completeness of the learning achievement results of PGMI students of 2021 who stated that they were ready to become professional teachers. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were 10 PGMI students of the 2021 batch. The data collection techniques used in the study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the data was analyzed with the following steps: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation, 4) data verification. The results of the study showed that most PGMI 2021 IAI AL-AZIS students had good physical and mental readiness. As many as 90% of students stated their readiness to face their duties as teachers. Meanwhile, 92% of students showed the ability to manage learning and apply relevant methods. In terms of personality and general skills, 100% of students stated their readiness to be good role models for students. However, in terms of specific skills, student readiness reached 88%, so that the completion of the learning achievements of PGMI 2021 IAI AL-AZIS students to meet graduate competency standards was still not optimal. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of peer interaction in the school environment on the formation of friendly character of 6th grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun. This research uses quantitative methods with descriptive analysis type of research. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 6th grade students of MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun in the 2024/2025 academic year which is the population of this study. Determination of the sample in this study was carried out using purposive sampling technique which obtained a sample size of 67 students from a total population of 204 students. The results of this study indicate that interaction with peers in the school environment has a positive and significant effect on the formation of students' friendly character. This is evidenced by the tcount value which is greater than the ttable, namely 5.476 > 1.997 with a coefficient of determination of 0.316, which means that 31.6% of peer interaction variables affect the formation of friendly character. Abstract

Puberty or the transition from childhood to adulthood is one phase of human life. Teenagers will experience physical, mental and social changes throughout this time as part of puberty. Today, puberty hits many children much earlier than in the past. Lack of understanding is a problem faced by children aged puberty, which is actually not much different. Stress may arise when a child develops faster than other children because they feel different. This research aims to find out whether menstruation education in princess activities can influence the understanding and readiness of grade 5 female students in dealing with the menstruation they will experience and whether there are changes in attitudes, beliefs and stigma towards menstruation after female students take part in education through princess activities. The approach taken in this research uses a mixed methods research approach which emphasizes quantitative research. This research uses a sequential mixed methods strategy, especially a sequential explanatory strategy. The results of the research show that the P value obtained is 0.000 < α which is set at 0.05, meaning that there is a significant impact of menstruation education through women's education activities on increasing understanding and readiness to face menstruation in grade 5 female students at MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun. Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to achieve predetermined goals, including in the context of teaching Islamic Cultural History (Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam - SKI). In the teaching process, teachers need to implement various effective strategies to ensure that learning objectives are achieved successfully. The approaches used by educators should facilitate students in understanding the material in an easy, effective, and clear manner. Thus, the material delivered becomes not only information but also something that students can utilize in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the quiz method in improving the quality of learning and how the quiz method can optimize the quality of teaching Islamic Cultural History (SKI) for fourth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun. The study employs a qualitative approach, emphasizing an in-depth understanding of the application of the quiz method in the context of teaching SKI to fourth-grade students at the Madrasah. The sample selection was conducted using random sampling techniques, and data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, direct observations during the learning process, and relevant school documentation. The findings of the study indicate that the implementation of the quiz method significantly improves the quality of learning. This is evident from the increased interest, motivation, and engagement of students in learning activities. Students no longer remain passive listeners but actively participate in the learning process through discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and collaborations.Additionally, the quiz method enhances students' collaboration and teamwork skills, as well as significantly improves their understanding and retention of the material taught by the teacher. Through the implementation of this quiz method, the learning process becomes more interactive and enjoyable, thereby achieving educational goals more optimally. Abstract

Fostering student independence, especially in boarding life away from parents, is very important. A teacher must be able to communicate well in the process of fostering and supervising this independence. Teachers have an active role in fostering student independence, so good communication between teachers and students is absolutely necessary. Thus, students' independence can be well formed through the active role and effective communication of the teacher. This thesis examines how the independence of 5th grade students of MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun in dormitory life and teacher communication in fostering the independence of life. This research method uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through observation and in-depth interviews with students and 5th grade teachers of MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun. The research subjects consisted of 35 students and 4 5th grade teachers of MI Ma'had Al-Zaytun. The results showed that the life independence of 5th grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun was influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include intrinsic motivation, level of self-confidence, and ability to manage time. External factors include the school environment, life skills guidance from teachers, as well as the influence of independent peers. In addition, this study explores the importance of teacher communication in fostering students' life independence. Grade 5 teachers of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'had Al-Zaytun use interpersonal and group forms of communication. And a combination of verbal and nonverbal communication is also used to convey information clearly, thus creating a dynamic learning environment, and supporting students' holistic development. These communication strategies help students to increase their independence and develop time management skills that are essential in boarding school life.
