Abstract

This study explores the educational evaluations of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari in the context of jihad, as conceptualized by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah. The research focuses on four key aspects of evaluation: spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social, examining how these align with the broader concept of jihad. KH. Hasyim Asy'ari's holistic approach to education emphasizes the integration of spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social development to produce balanced individuals who can contribute to society and practice Islamic principles. Spiritual evaluation focuses on self-purification and closeness to Allah, intellectual evaluation emphasizes mastery of knowledge, physical evaluation highlights the importance of fitness and readiness, and social evaluation promotes contributions to the welfare of society. By aligning these educational goals with the concept of jihad, the study reveals how education serves as a powerful tool for character development, fostering a balance between spiritual growth and worldly responsibilities. The findings suggest that KH. Hasyim Asy'ari's educational model, deeply rooted in Islamic teachings, provides a comprehensive framework for preparing individuals to contribute both to their faith and society, encouraging continuous self-improvement and reflection.

Abstract

Education is a crucial factor in advancing a nation by enhancing its human resources. In Indonesia, the government prioritizes national education, including Islamic education, to nurture individuals who are intellectually capable, morally upright, and spiritually strong. The goal of national education, as outlined in Law No. 20 of 2003, is to develop students with integrity, independence, and a sense of democratic responsibility. Islamic education, especially through pesantren, plays a key role by emphasizing values such as character building, mutual cooperation, and a constructive understanding of jihad, focused on moral, social, and national progress. Historically, Indonesian scholars have used education to rally for independence, blending Islamic values with the principles of the nation. Today, pesantren and Islamic education adapt to modern challenges, fostering a balanced interpretation of Islamic values to contribute positively to society.

Abstract

Abstract Human perfection is intrinsically linked to virtues (al-fadhā’il), namely wisdom (al-hikmah), courage (al-syaja‘ah), temperance (al-‘iffah), and justice (al-‘adalah). Through these virtues, individuals attain true happiness, which al-Ghazali in Ma‘arij al-Quds describes as beholding God in the hereafter or attaining divine knowledge (ma‘rifat al-Bāri). This study has three main objectives: first, to explain the concept of the Perfect Human (al-insan al-kamil); second, to analyze al-Ghazali’s perspective on this concept within Islamic education; and third, to examine its implementation at STIT Insan Kamil, Bogor City. The research employs qualitative methods in a descriptive, analytical, implementative, and evaluative approach, drawing on interviews with students, lecturers, and staff, supported by institutional data. For al-Ghazali, the Perfect Human is one who balances morality, intellect, and righteous deeds, achieving harmony in relationships with God, fellow human beings, and the universe. Education should therefore go beyond worldly ambitions and guide individuals toward closeness to God. At STIT Insan Kamil, this concept is applied, although Qur’an memorization targets remain less optimal and require continuous improvement. How to Cite: Iskandar S., Saepudin, D., Husaini, A., &   Syafrin, N. (2025). The data collection technique emphasizes aspects of text analysis and study. The methods used are the tafsir Madhuri and tafsir tahlili methods by collecting all the verses related to fitnah, and then analyzing and explaining the meanings contained in the verses. The research results show that the foundation of nature-based education is the Koran, hadith, ijma', and qiyas. The aim is to strengthen the foundation of faith in children, give birth to people with noble character, give birth to people who always preserve nature, and give birth to people whose obsession is the afterlife and whose goal is the approval of Allah.  The solutions to these challenges are a sense of responsibility, sincerity for God alone, knowledge about children's readiness, fulfilling resources according to ability, and building good synergy between parents and educational institutions.

Abstract

This research focuses on describing and discovering a model for developing the Islamic boarding school curriculum at the junior high school level in integrated Islamic schools, where the presence of Islamic boarding schools is an integral part of the education model. Initially, as a full-day school, the concept of boarding school or Islamic boarding school emerged. In facing the expansion and development of Islamic schools, developing a curriculum model based on current products and the education market is essential. Education actors must be wise in preparing curriculum composition or structure that can adapt to recent developments. Actors in Islamic religious education and science will contribute maximally to determining curriculum content so that the Islamic Boarding School curriculum becomes at the forefront. This research aims to explore the integrated Islamic school model starting from the philosophical roots of the curriculum. By taking the example of the Ibnu Salam Nurul Fikri Boarding School in Serang, Banten, as a pioneer of integrated Islamic school-based Islamic boarding schools, it was found that the curriculum structure always refers to the national curriculum. Educational institutions' religious and scientific camps have become an unavoidable dualistic reality. This research seeks to develop the Islamic Boarding School curriculum structure at integrated Islamic schools at the junior high school level. The field study results show that the Islamic boarding school continues to prioritize science (dikes) as its curriculum philosophy, intending to produce quality graduates for state universities. This research uses qualitative methods with literature study and interviews as procedures, creating descriptive data from participants in written and oral form.
