Abstract

The archivists in the Batu City Department of Library and Archives play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient archival services for the community. This study evaluates their performance, focusing on record acquisition, management, preservation, and service delivery. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research incorporates observations, interviews with 15 archivists, and examination of departmental records over six months. The analysis includes data reduction, modeling, and verification processes to derive comprehensive insights. The findings reveal that the archivists’ effectiveness is significantly influenced by their educational background, ongoing training, and accumulated work experience. Despite their competence, a notable gap exists in the formal academic qualifications related to archival studies. Moreover, disparities in training access further exacerbate performance inconsistencies. Consequently, while the current procedures are well-adhered, improvements are essential. To address these challenges and enhance expertise, it is recommended that archivists with formal archival education be recruited. Additionally, implementing a structured training program that offers equal participation opportunities can bridge the skill gap. Lastly, reducing non-core tasks will enable archivists to focus on their primary responsibilities, improving overall service delivery. These measures are anticipated to positively impact the department’s ability to meet community needs and enhance organizational efficiency.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a literacy-based e-learning materials for graduate students by (1) describing the results of analyzing the syllabus, the teaching materials from course convenor, the students and the lecturers’ responses and developing the e-learning protoype material; (2) conducting an expert validation and a tryout; and (3) disseminating the product. The result of this research and development study a prototype of literacy-based teaching and learning material and its assessment for graduate students in an interactive CD applying an autoplay program.

Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching materials for kindergarten teachers, PGTK lecturers, and students majoring in PGTK to improve preschoolers’ social behavior through a language creativity approach. Specifically, the objectives of the study were formulated as follows. In the first year, the study aimed (1) to describe (a) the kindergarten curriculum related to the development of children’s social behavior and (b) previous studies on social behavior and its development, and (2) to develop a prototype of the teaching materials. In the second year, the study focused on conducting expert validation and try-out activities. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design consisting of the following procedures: (1) planning, theoretical review, and needs analysis; (2) prototype development; (3) evaluation through expert validation and try-out; and (4) product revision. The final product of this study is a prototype of teaching materials entitled Mengembangkan Kecerdasan Sosial Anak melalui Kreativitas Bahasa, intended for kindergarten teachers, PGTK lecturers, and students majoring in PGTK.

Abstract

Abstract: Most people considered that proficient in a language meant fluent in speaking. The speaking skills were always related to the listening skills. Without having good listening skills, anybody’s speaking skills would not be perfect. Therefore, the listening skills were needed in order to achieve the perfection of other language proficiency. To achieve the listening skills, especially listening to the second or foreign language on basic or beginner level, there were several alternative teaching and learning model which could be implemented. The alternative models were classified into several points of view. Determining the proper teaching and learning needed skills in choosing by considering the purpose of the listening teaching and learning, the students’ scheme, the text’s conditions, and the development of the students’ cognitive. Abstrak: Sebagian besar orang menganggap bahwa mahir berbahasa berarti mahir berbicara. Keterampilan berbicara selalu terkait dengan keterampilan menyimak.Tanpa berbekal keterampilan menyimak yang bagus, keterampilan berbicara seseorang tidak akan sempurna. Karena itu, keterampilan menyimak sangat diperlukan demi kesempurnaan keterampilan berbahasa yang lain. Untuk mencapai kompetensi menyimak, khususnya menyimak bahasa kedua/asing pada level dasar atau pemula, ada berbagai alternasi model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan. Alternasi model pembelajaran yang dimaksud terklasifikasi atas beberapa sudut pandang. Untuk menentukan model pembelajaran yang tepat, diperlukan kecakapan dalam memilihnya dengan mempertimbangkan tujuan pembelajaran menyimak, skema siswa, kondisi teks, dan perkembangan kognisi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (a) the readability of text content in terms of students’ understanding of class IV at alementary school by using cloze and (b) the readability of text content in terms of students’ understanding of class V at alementary school by using cloze test. This study used quantitative type descriptive. The population used in this study were 20 text. Sample of this study were students of class IV and V. The data used to answer all of this issues were test cloze. The source of data in the from of long texts of 150-250 words. The instrument was text which has omitted. The result abtained from the percentage of class IV dan V in the 60%, the text is easily understood by the students.

Abstract

The aim of this study that describes the shape of the world's knowledge and comprehension levels of students, the text of which is based on knowledge of the world and the knowledge of the world's fifth grade students, as well as differences in students' understanding of towns and villages. This research data in the form of text that is already the world based on knowledge of internal and external students. The text of three text based world knowledge internal and external students, as well as the text of the outside world's knowledge of students. The results showed that the elementary fifth grade students from both schools were able to understand the meaning of vocabulary, linking vocabulary mapping into the meaning, composing paragraphs conclusion of the text that have been adapted to the students' knowledge of the world. Instead elementary fifth grade students from both schools are not able to understand the meaning of vocabulary, linking vocabulary mapping into the meaning, composing paragraphs of text that conclusion is not adapted to the students' knowledge of the world. So that the level of difficulty of the text that has been based on knowledge of the world is easy because it can help students understand the vocabulary in the text. Instead level of difficulty of the text that is not based knowledge of the students' world is difficult because students are not able to understand the meaning of the vocabulary that a text.

Abstract

This research aims to describe patient noun phrase (NP) movement at the monotransitive passive sentence with prefix di- in children age 5—6. This research is descriptive case study. Data of this research are patient NP movement with deletion agent NP and patient NP in monotransitive passive sentences on oral Indonesian from children’s utterance with their friends, teacher, and researcher. Based on the results of this research, patient NP movement with deletion of agent NP and patient NP that had been done by the children leave seven variation of di- passive verb, namely di- passive verb, di- passive verb with negation and modality, di- passive verb and adverb, di- passive verb and quatifier, di- passive verb and reflexive marker, di- passive verb with question intonation, and di- passive verb and imperative marker.

Abstract

This research aims to develop media for learning of fable story wiritng for junior high school students that contain materials, examples, and exercises to achieve the indicators and learning objectives and to describe the feasibility of media for learning gained from expert judgement and field testing. Media for learning developed using macromedia flash program. The development model used was adapted from Borg and Gall development model. Aspect of the assessment in the media for learning is in terms of (1) content, (2) language, and (3) the display. From the results of the expert judgement and field testing, the overall product of learning media has been feasible to be implemented after going through revision stages.

Abstract

This research aims at investigating liberal life perspective of Indonesian language teacher at SMK Kartika IV-1 Malang in regard with general education objective, school aims, general characteristics, children as learners, management and administration, curriculum characteristics, learning subject materials, learning method, learning evaluation and classroom management. This research employed qualitative design using case study approach. The subject of this research were liberal Indonesian language teachers at SMK Kartika IV-1 Malang. The data of this research were obtained through in-depth interview and observation. The obtained data then were analyzed using Education Ideology Mapping by O’Neil (2008). The results of this study indicated that life perspective of liberal Indonesian language teachers at SMK Kartika IV-1 regarding general education objective, school aims, general characteristics, children as learners, management and administration, curriculum characteristics, learning subject materials, learning method, learning evaluation and classroom management is diversed. However, life perspective of liberal Indonesian language teachers at SMK Kartika IV-1 is not constantly similar with Education Ideology Mapping by O’Neil.

Abstract

A developed teaching material is tested for its feasibility before it is implemented in the lesson. This study aims to describe the developed teaching materials, and describe the results of feasibility tests and the effectiveness of teaching materials developed. The design of the effectiveness test used in this research and development is Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The results of the validity test of experts and practitioners show that the teaching material is feasible to be implemented, while the field test results show the effective teaching materials in the writing lesson. The mean value of the experimental class is 82.88 while the control class is 75.03. This indicates that the mean score of the control class postes is significantly lower than the experiment class score. Therefore it can be concluded that the experimental class is significantly different from the control class in terms of the postes value (p = 0.000).
