Abstract

Background: Pain and sleep disturbances are common among lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, negatively affecting comfort and quality of life. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is a non-pharmacological intervention that potentially alleviates these issues. However, few studies have specifically examined the effects of PMR on chemotherapy-induced symptoms in lung cancer patients, particularly in Indonesia. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest study with a control group was conducted in Banjarmasin, Indonesia, involving 60 purposively selected lung cancer patients. Participants were assigned to an intervention group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The intervention group performed daily PMR exercises for 14 consecutive days, while the control group received standard care. Pain was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and ethical approval was obtained from the institutional review board. Results: Demographic characteristics were comparable between groups. After the intervention, pain levels decreased significantly in the intervention group, with 40% reporting mild pain and 53.3% moderate pain, compared to the control group, where 66.7% reported moderate pain and 33.3% severe pain. All participants in the intervention group achieved good sleep quality, while no improvements were observed in the control group. Between-group differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: PMR effectively reduces pain and improves sleep quality in lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. This study provides new evidence on the application of PMR in supportive care for lung cancer patients in Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Head injury is a major consequence of traffic accidents and significantly contributes to global morbidity and mortality. Rapid and accurate initial assessment is essential for predicting clinical outcomes, especially in emergency departments. The Revised Trauma Score (RTS) and Rapid Emergency Medicine Score (REMS) are commonly used predictive tools. To evaluate and compare the effectiveness of RTS and REMS in predicting the outcomes of head injury patients in the Emergency Department of RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin. This was an analytical observational study with a retrospective cohort approach involving data from 75 head injury patients recorded between January and December 2024. Samples were selected based on inclusion criteria: patients aged ≥19 years with complete vital signs data. AUROC and the Youden index were used to assess predictive accuracy. Most patients were aged 19–44 years (54.7%) and male (72%). The most common injury mechanism was traffic accidents (70.7%). RTS categorized 90.7% of patients as low-risk, while REMS identified 56% as high-risk. RTS showed an AUC of 0.932 (sensitivity 82.6%; specificity 100%), and REMS showed an AUC of 0.954 (sensitivity 85.5%; specificity 100%). Results indicated that both RTS and REMS were significantly associated with patient outcomes (p0.05). RTS and REMS are effective in predicting outcomes of head injury patients; however, REMS offers slightly better predictive accuracy and may serve as a more comprehensive early evaluation tool. Keywords: Head Injury, RTS, REMS, Patient Outcome, Trauma Score, Emergency Care.  ABSTRAK Cedera kepala merupakan dampak utama kecelakaan lalu lintas dan berkontribusi terhadap morbiditas dan mortalitas global. Abstract

Purpose: This study explores the effectiveness of webrooming and showrooming as marketing strategies in increasing sales, revenue, and customer satisfaction at Yumna Butik in Makassar. It aims to forecast sales trends and analyze consumer shopping behaviors using sales forecasting methods Methodology/approach: A quantitative exploratory approach was employed, utilizing secondary data on sales through webrooming and showrooming. The research applied the Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) method to forecast sales and identify shopping patterns. Interviews with sales representatives and analysis of sales transaction records were conducted to understand consumer behavior and spending trends. Results/findings: The findings reveal a significant monthly increase in sales volume, influenced by strategic store locations, competitive pricing, and high-quality customer service. Among the products analyzed, hijabs were identified as the highest-selling item. The majority of customers preferred webrooming over showrooming, emphasizing the practicality of online searches followed by in-store purchases. Conclusion: The study concludes that webrooming is more effective than showrooming in driving customer purchases at Yumna Butik. Implementing both strategies, supported by accurate sales forecasting, enables better business planning, customer engagement, and revenue growth. Limitations: This study focuses on a single business and specific products, which may limit generalizability. Future research could incorporate advanced software such as RShiny for more detailed and dynamic sales forecasts. Contribution: This study demonstrates the relevance of integrating webrooming and showrooming strategies to enhance sales and customer satisfaction. It also highlights the utility of SES in predicting sales trends and improving inventory management, offering actionable insights for fashion retailers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using a language laboratory to improve Arabic listening skills (Maharah Istima') among students. The conventional teaching of listening skills often faces challenges due to the lack of engaging media, resulting in suboptimal student comprehension. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving a pre-test and post-test control group. The research was conducted at Ma'had Darul Lughah wad Da'wah, Pasuruan, with a sample of 40 first-grade Aliyah students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests, and then analyzed using the t-test formula. The findings revealed a significant difference between the two groups. The experimental group achieved a mean post-test score of 72 (categorized as Good), while the control group scored 59 (categorized as Poor). The t-test analysis showed that the t-count (5.37) was higher than the t-table (2.09) at a 5% significance level. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of a language laboratory is effective and significantly improves students' Arabic listening skills compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of managerial ability on tax aggressiveness in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019–2024 period. In addition to the independent variable of managerial ability proxied by Asset Turnover (ATO), this study also employs control variables including profitability (Return on Assets), firm size, leverage (DER), capital expenditure, and SG&A expenses. The research method used is quantitative with a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a total of 198 observations from 33 manufacturing companies over six years of observation. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the Pooled OLS model using EViews 13 software. The results showed that the independent variable of managerial ability has no significant effect on tax aggressiveness. Similarly, the control variables of profitability, firm size, leverage, capital expenditure, and SG&A expenses all showed no significant effect on the level of tax aggressiveness of manufacturing companies in Indonesia during the observation period. The Adjusted R-squared value of 0.89% indicates that the research model has a very low ability to explain the variation in tax aggressiveness, while the remaining 99.11% is influenced by other factors outside the research model.
