Abstract

Betta splendens is an ornamental fish with a variety of color variations, which is one of the main factors determining its selling value. One of the variants of hippopotamus, which is currently in great demand by ornamental fish enthusiasts, is the multicolor hippopotamus. During maintenance, cupang fish often experience a decrease in color quality caused by internal and external factors. One of the efforts to improve color quality is to supplement the feed with ingredients rich in pigments, such as shrimp head flour (TKU), which contains carotenoids. This study aimed to improve the brightness and color performance of hippopotamus by adding shrimp head meal to commercial feed. The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments, namely, control, 5% TKU, 10% TKU, and 15% TKU, each with three replicates. The research procedure included the preparation of shrimp head meal, mixing feed with TKU, fish rearing, and observation of changes in color brightness, weight and length growth, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that the utilization of shrimp head meal supplemented into the feed improved the performance of brightness and color patterns in multi-colored cupang fish, including length gain during the treatment, with optimum results shown in the 10% TKU treatment.

Abstract

Pacific whiteleg shrimp is a cultivated commodity with the prospect of increasing market opportunities yearly. The increase in value is in line with the increasing need for pacific whiteleg shrimp consumption. The impact is an increase in state income in general. Pacific whiteleg shrimp cultivation activities have been carried out on a large and small scale. However, proper enlargement production techniques are needed to increase production. This study aims to determine the technique of pacific whiteleg grow-out so that the information obtained can be disseminated to the public and will add value to the benefits of improving welfare. A study case method with a descriptive analysis approach was used. Pacific whiteleg shrimp culture is divided into the hatchery and grow-out sectors. The grow-out activities include pond cleaning, media preparation, fry stocking, feeding, treatment, pest and disease management, growth sampling, and harvesting. Based on the study's results, the production consisted of three cycles per year with a density of 180 m2 an SR value of 85.5%, and an FCR value of 1.25%.

Abstract

The development of mirror carp (Cyprinus carpio) farming in Indonesia has progressed very rapidly, as can be seen by the increasing number of varieties of mirror carp produced from various regions with their respective specifications and advantages. Along with the need for carp that are more resistant to environmental changes and disease attacks, the development of the Majalaya carp variety subsequently produces Mantap carp fish that are disease-resistant, and growth in the growth segment is faster. The aim of this study was to disseminate technical information on Mantap fish carp culture to the public so that it can be used as a reference source for the community, especially for cultivators who are interested in developing this fish. In this study, primary and secondary data were collected. Based on the results of a fecundity study, one female broodstock produced 104.496 kg broodstock-1, the average percentage of egg fertilization (FR) was 89,64%, the average hatching rate (HR) was 61,37%, and the average survival rate (SR) until the size of the seed size 2-3 cm reaches 60%.

Abstract

The business of cultivating ornamental fish is quite popular because its sales are profitable for cultivators. Ornamental fish also have attractive colors; therefore, many people are interested in this commodity. One ornamental fish commodity that is in great demand is the oranda goldfish Carassius auratus, which has a variety of colors, unique movements, and body shapes. The annual increase in market demand for oranda goldfish reaches 95,000 fish annually, and each year, there is an increase in the production of 3,000 fish of around 3% each year. This study was carried out in an effort to explore technical information on goldfish cultivation so that the information obtained can be disseminated widely and used as a reference source for the community so that it will add value to the benefit of improving sustainable welfare. The results of the study show that the technique of spawning oranda goldfish can be performed naturally using a substrate in the form of a water hyacinth. The average fecundity produced by one female parent oranda goldfish was 6429 eggs, with a presentation hatching rate of 74% and a presentation survival rate of 64%.
