Abstract

Abstract

This article aims to identify and explore the analytical methods of asy-Sya’rawi in understanding the textual variations of mutasyabih lafdzi verses and their implications for Qur’anic exegesis studies. This study employs a qualitative method using thematic interpretation (maudhu’i) and content analysis approaches. The thematic approach is applied to holistically examine the phenomenon of mutasyabih lafdzi through collecting and categorizing relevant Qur'anic verses. At the same time, content analysis is used to delve deeper into Asy-Sya’rawi's interpretive methods in explaining these textual variations. The findings reveal that Asy-Sya’rawi adopts a comprehensive approach, encompassing linguistic, historical, comparative analysis, and moral and ethical insights. For instance, his study of surat al-Baqarah/2:126 and surat Ibrahim/14:35 demonstrates how the textual differences between the terms baladan and al-balad reflect the transition of a region from a barren state to a secure and thriving city. Furthermore, asy-Sya’rawi connects these verses to moral lessons emphasizing the importance of physical, social, and spiritual security in the sacred region of Haram. This article also serves as a rebuttal to the claims of Orientalists like Richard Bell and William Muir, who perceive textual variations as indications of inconsistency in the Qur’an.

Abstract

Outpatient waiting time is one of the national quality indicators. Most patients visiting outpatient clinics in Indonesian hospitals complain about the long waiting time before receiving healthcare services. Over the decades, the persistent issue of long waiting times and unresolved patient dissatisfaction has led hospitals worldwide to adopt Lean Healthcare management systems. These systems focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of service operations by eliminating waste. Siti Rahmah Hospital is a private type-C hospital facing outpatient waiting time issues exceeding 60 minutes. This community service aims to enhance nurses' knowledge and reduce service waiting times. This community service was conducted using a quantitative approach with an experimental design, and the primary data collection technique was through questionnaires. The implementation consisted of four main stages: preparation, socialization of lean healthcare methods, identification of waiting times, and mapping types of time waste in services. Nurses' knowledge about lean healthcare management increased significantly by 56.70% after the training, as shown by a pretest score of 36.6% and a post-test score of 93.3%. The knowledge components that improved substantially included understanding the outpatient waiting time standard of less than 60 minutes, identifying time-wasting activities in services, and using electronic medical records as a lean healthcare strategy to reduce service waiting times. The lean healthcare method is effective in reducing patient waiting times in outpatient care.

Abstract

First-order Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) has many applications in physics, engineering, biology, economics, and ecology. Therefore, mastering the concepts and methods of solving ODE is essential for students to be able to apply mathematics in solving real-world problems. However, the teaching of first-order ODE has not paid attention to practical applications, so that students have difficulty linking theory with real cases. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the SOLO taxonomy and Newman Error Analysis (NEA) in first-order ODE. The methodology used is a case study. The research subjects consisted of nine students of the mathematics department of FMIPA Universitas Negeri Padang. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation. Then the data were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that there were five errors in solving first-order ODE made by students, namely Reading Errors (RE), Comprehension Errors (CE), Transformation Errors (TE), Process Skill Errors (PE), and Encoding Errors (EE). Some of the causes of these errors include students' low ability to read mathematical symbols, students' inaccuracy, not being able to use algorithms correctly, not mastering the concepts of algebra, differential, and integral, as well as not understanding in determining the systematic solution of the problem and not being accustomed to writing the final answer. This information can be used as a guideline for lecturers in designing strategies and lecture designs for first-order ODE.

Abstract

Having procedural knowledge empowers students and helps them connect theory and practice in biology education.  Encouraging pupils to learn procedural knowledge helps them acquire academic talents and practical life skills.  In fact, many studies show that students' procedural knowledge is still low, especially regarding the use of microscopes and cell observation. This study aims to discover how the Discovery Learning model, combined with practicum, affects students' procedural understanding of using microscopes and seeing cell structures.  A pretest-posttest control group design was employed in this quantitative quasi-experimental study.  The pupils of Class XI at one of the senior high schools in Pandeglang, Banten comprised the research population.  Seventy-four students were chosen at random to make up the research sample.  Two groups—the experimental and control class groups—were created from the research sample. Students in the control class utilized the Discovery learning model without practicum activities, while students in the experimental class used the Discovery learning model combined with practicum activities.  According to the findings, students in the experimental class outperformed those in the control class regarding their average post-test score on procedural knowledge.  Additionally, pupils in the experimental class had a greater improvement in procedural knowledge.  Students' comprehension of scientific topics is strengthened by combining discovery learning with practicum. Additionally, students become more involved in the learning process, which boosts their procedural knowledge. Students in the experimental class were more actively engaging in each activity stage, according to the observation data from the practicum.  This result demonstrates how students' procedural knowledge and learning outcomes are enhanced when discovery learning and practicum are combined.  Therefore, in order to enhance students' procedural understanding, teachers had to increase the frequency of practicums.

Abstract

Healthcare facilities must adhere to patient safety principles to reduce the risk of harm. Prof. Dr. M.A. Hanafiah SM Batusangkar Hospital is among the healthcare providers in West Sumatra, necessitating endeavors to enhance and sustain service quality, especially regarding patient safety. The effectiveness of the patient safety culture depends on the 4 S supervision elements, including Structure, Skill, Support, and Sustainability. The 4S supervision model guides and aids nurses in advancing their skills related to patient safety. Survey findings at the hospital revealed that the promotion of 4S supervision was suboptimal, manifesting as nurses' limited grasp of the concept. On July 28-29, 2023, a structured socialization, education, and mentorship program was conducted for nursing executives and managers. The objective was to empower nurses to incorporate multilayered supervision into patient care and oversee the implementation of patient safety in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room settings, aiming to enhance the patient safety culture.
