Abstract

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, including in Indonesia. Type II Diabetes Mellitus is an important risk factor because it increases the likelihood of cardiovascular events by 2–4 times through mechanisms such as chronic hyperglycemia, diabetic dyslipidemia, and endothelial dysfunction. Risk assessment using the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) is essential, as it can estimate the 10-year risk of CHD based on age, blood pressure, lipid profile, smoking status, and the presence of diabetes. The increase in DM cases at Raden Mattaher Hospital Jambi from 92 in 2023 to 125 in 2024 highlights the need for early cardiovascular risk detection. This study aimed to describe CHD risk in Type II DM patients using the FRS through a descriptive quantitative design involving 62 respondents. The results showed that 46 respondents (74.2%) were in the low-risk category, emphasizing that the FRS is useful in supporting clinical decision-making and planning preventive interventions for diabetic patients.

Abstract

Background: One important aspect of PHBS is handwashing with soap, which has been proven to be an effective way to prevent various infectious diseases. In the healthcare sector, handwashing with soap is very crucial, especially in preventing nosocomial infections, namely infections that occur in hospitals due to the transmission of bacteria and viruses from the non-sterile hospital environment. Medical personnel and patients' families play a major role in preventing these infections. However, many patients' families still do not pay attention to hand hygiene when visiting patient treatment rooms. Objective: This community service activity aims to increase the understanding of patient families regarding the importance of hand hygiene both before and after carrying out activities while the patient and family are in the treatment room at the hospital. Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease that continues to increase and requires long-term management through the implementation of four pillars of care: education, medical nutrition therapy, physical activity, and pharmacological therapy. The successful implementation of these pillars is influenced not only by clinical factors but also by patients’ perceptions of the disease and its management. This study aimed to determine the relationship between patients’ perceptions and the implementation of the four pillars in the management of diabetes mellitus at the Simpang IV Sipin Community Health Center. This was a quantitative study with a correlational analytic design using a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 250 patients, with 78 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that most respondents had good perceptions (51.3%) and good implementation of the four pillars (70.5%). A positive and significant relationship was found between patients’ perceptions and the implementation of the four pillars (r = 0.607; p = 0.000). Healthcare providers are recommended to enhance perception-based education to support optimal diabetes management.

Abstract

Introduction: Anxiety is a psychological problem that is often experienced by patients with chronic kidney failure who are undergoing hemodialysis. Research shows that nearly half of hemodialysis patients experience abnormal anxiety, and about 25% are in the borderline category. The high prevalence of anxiety is related to the physical and emotional burden during long-term hemodialysis therapy. This condition confirms the need for effective nonpharmacological interventions, one of which is music therapy. Objective: This study aims to collect and analyze scientific evidence related to the effectiveness of music therapy in reducing anxiety in patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis in the context of a palliative approach. Methods: This study uses a literature review method by examining articles published in 2023–2025 obtained through PubMed and Searching Engine, Mesh. The search was conducted using keywords related to music therapy and anxiety in hemodialysis patients. A total of 10 articles met the inclusion criteria and were systematically analyzed to assess the research design, anxiety instruments, type of music, and the results of the intervention. Results: Based on the article analyzed, music therapy was shown to be effective in reducing anxiety in hemodialysis patients. This intervention is effective as a nonpharmacological method because it provides a relaxation effect, is easy to apply, is cost-effective, and can be adjusted to the patient's needs. Conclusion: Music therapy has the effectiveness to be used as an effort to reduce anxiety in patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Introduction: Healthcare service quality is an important indicator in assessing the quality of primary care facilities such as public health centers. The Antenatal Care (ANC) program is a crucial strategy in reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), where the satisfaction of pregnant women reflects the fulfillment of patients' clinical and psychological expectations. This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of ANC health services and the satisfaction level of pregnant women at the Kenali Besar Public Health Center, Jambi City, in 2026. Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional design, using a purposive sampling technique to obtain a sample of 59 respondents. Results: The univariate research results showed that the majority of respondents rated the quality of ANC services in the good category (57,6%) and felt satisfied with the services received (88.1%). The results of the bivariate test using Chi-Square obtained a p-value of 0.035 (<0.05) with an Odds Ratio (OR) of 10.421. This indicates a significant difference in perception, where pregnant women who receive poor service are 4.4 times more likely to feel less satisfied. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the quality of health services and the satisfaction level of pregnant women at the Kenali Besar Public Health Center, Jambi City.

Abstract

Flooding is a frequent disaster in Indonesia. Children, as a vulnerable group, require adequate preparedness to protect themselves when disasters strike. This activity aimed to increase elementary school students' knowledge of flood disaster preparedness. The activity was carried out at SDN 98/IV Kota Jambi involving 40 sixth-grade students. Methods used included interactive lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and simulations delivered via presentation media. The material provided covered an introduction to floods, preparedness measures before, during, and after floods, prevention of post-flood diseases, healthy living behaviors, handwashing practices, and waste sorting. The evaluation was conducted using a disaster preparedness knowledge questionnaire with 15 questions. The results showed an increase in students' knowledge after the educational intervention, as indicated by a rise in the proportion in the "very good" knowledge category from 70% to 87.5%. This indicates that disaster preparedness education is effective in improving students' understanding and readiness to face flood risks. It is hoped that this activity can be implemented continuously and integrated into school learning to strengthen a culture of disaster awareness from an early age.
