Abstract

This research aims to develop Android-based learning media in the CAD Pattern Making course in response to students' difficulties in understanding the functions of certain tools, such as pleats and cut a part, used in drawing fashion patterns digitally. Previous learning media in the form of video tutorials and job sheets in UNP e-learning are considered less interactive and difficult to access through Android devices, even though the majority of students use Android smartphones in the learning process. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), but is limited to the development stage. Media validity was tested by three media experts and three material experts using a validation sheet instrument and analyzed by Aiken's V formula. The validation results showed a score of 0.95 from media experts and 0.99 from material experts, including a very valid category. The developed application presents material in the form of text, videos, interactive quizzes, job sheets, and discussion features. The results of the study indicate that the media is suitable in terms of content and design for use in the context of learning CAD pattern making in the D3 Fashion Design study program at Padang State University.

Abstract

Student work readiness in facing the world of digital entrepreneurship is still an obstacle that requires a more effective learning approach. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of project-based learning model on students' work readiness in digital era entrepreneurship. By using pre-test and post-test design, 40 students were prepared to be tested at the beginning and at the end who were taught using a project-based learning model. Students participated in the learning process for one semester with real-world projects relevant to the digital fashion industry. The t-test results indicate a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (t-calculated = 38.561 > t-table = 1.990; sig. < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in digital work readiness. This improvement includes technical skills, creativity, digital literacy, collaboration, and business management skills based on technology. Additionally, project-based learning was proven to enhance students' motivation and engagement in the learning process. These findings reinforce the effectiveness of PjBL as an approach responsive to the demands of Industry 4.0. This study concludes that the project-based learning model is effective in preparing competent graduates in digital entrepreneurship and can be adopted as an adaptive and applicable vocational learning strategy in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

This study analyzes the management of vocational learning for students with special needs at SLB Negeri 1 Padang by applying the POACE framework: Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling, and Evaluating. The research addresses the problem of inconsistent learning management and limited alignment between vocational programs and students’ functional needs. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, vocational teachers, and students. The data were analyzed through Miles and Huberman’s interactive model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of POACE is present but uneven. Planning is not yet based on comprehensive student assessments; organizing is hindered by mismatches between teacher expertise and assigned tasks; actuating is limited by insufficient adaptive learning resources; controlling lacks structured monitoring instruments; and evaluation does not include competency measurement or pathways to employment readiness. Overall, the study concludes that vocational learning management requires more systematic, data-driven, and inclusive strategies. Strengthening each POACE component is essential to improving the relevance and effectiveness of vocational education for students with special needs.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Teknik Dasar Menjahit pada materi pengoperasian mesin jahit (manual, portable & highspeed) masih menggunakan media pembelajaran powerpoint, jobsheet dan modul ajar sebagai media utama dalam pembelajaran yang menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam memperhatikan langkah-langkah pengoperasian mesin jahit (manual, portable & highspeed). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan serta mendeskripsikan validitas dan praktikalitas pengembangan media video pembelajaran teknik pengoperasian mesin jahit (manual, portable & highspeed). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan 4D. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara dan angket(kuesioner). Media video ini divalidasi oleh 4 orang ahli dibidang media dan materi, dan praktikalitas di nilai oleh guru mata pelajaran dan siswa. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan menguji validitas dan praktikalitas video tutorial pengoperasian mesin jahit (manual, portable & highspeed). Hasil uji validasi media diperoleh skor 87% kategori sangat valid dan hasil uji validasi ahli materi diperoleh skor 94% kategori sangat valid sehingga keseluruhan validitas diperoleh skor 90.5% dengan kategori sangat valid. Sedangkan hasil uji praktikalitas guru mata pelajaran diperoleh skor 100% dengan kategori sangat praktis dan uji praktikalitas siswa diperoleh skor 92% dengan kategori sangat praktis, sehingga media video tersebut layak digunakan pada proses pembelajaran Teknik Dasar Menjahit. Hal ini berpotensi meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, memperjelas pemahaman langkah-langkah teknis pengoperasian mesin jahit, dan pada akhirnya dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan hasil belajar psikomotorik serta capaian akademik siswa, khususnya dalam mengatasi ketuntasan belajar di atas standar KKM yang sebelumnya belum tercapai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena banyak siswa SMK yang tidak menunjukkan minat yang tinggi untuk berwirausaha setelah melaksanakan Praktik Kerja Lapangan sehingga belum diketahui pengaruh Praktik Kerja Lapangan terhadap minat berwirausaha. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat seberapa besar pengaruh pelaksanaan Praktik Kerja Lapangan terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan ex post facto yang telah dilakukan di SMK Negeri 1 Merangin. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XII Tata Busana, diperoleh menggunakan teknik total sampling sebanyak 60 siswa. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Pada Penelitian ini dilaksanakan analisis deskriptif, uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah (1) Pelaksanaan praktik kerja lapangan menunjukkan pada kategori tinggi yaitu 81%. (2) Minat berwirausaha bidang busana pada kategori skor tinggi yaitu 73%. (3) Terdapat pengaruh antara pengalaman praktik kerja lapangan terhadap minat berwirausaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai R Square sebesar 0,882 yang artinya bahwa Pelaksanaan Praktik Kerja Lapangan memberikan pengaruh sebesar 88,2% terhadap minat berwirausaha bidang busana siswa. Sedangkan 11,8% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain, yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Implikasi praktis dari temuan penelitian ini bagi pihak sekolah dan pengambil kebijakan adalah perlunya penguatan kualitas dan relevansi pelaksanaan Praktik Kerja Lapangan sebagai strategi utama dalam menumbuhkan minat berwirausaha siswa SMK.

Abstract

The use of YouTube-based learning has become increasingly relevant in vocational education, particularly in technical and procedural courses such as CAD Patternmaking. This study aims to analyze the contribution of YouTube-based learning to student engagement, cognitive load, and learning achievement in a CAD Patternmaking course. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. The sample consisted of 107 Fashion Design students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS. The results show that YouTube-based learning contributes positively and significantly to student engagement and negatively and significantly to cognitive load. In addition, YouTube-based learning and student engagement simultaneously contribute significantly to learning achievement, while cognitive load does not have a significant partial contribution. These findings indicate that learning achievement in YouTube-based CAD Patternmaking learning is more strongly influenced by student engagement than by perceived cognitive load. In conclusion, YouTube-based learning can effectively support vocational learning outcomes when designed to enhance student engagement. This study provides practical implications for developing structured video-based learning strategies in vocational education.
