Abstract

Technology is used in educational materials to aid in students' comprehension of the subject matter and to prevent boredom during the learning process. This research examined the viability of interactive Quizizz-based media for class XI subjects on the reproductive system. This research and development (R&D) was using the ADDIE development model. The ADDIE development model is restricted and includes only analysis, design, and development stages. The research was conducted from February to July 2022. The Quizizz interactive media was validated by three high school biology teachers and two lecturers, and this validation served as the study's instrument. Aiken's V analysis showed an average of 0.95, confirming validity, while the ICC reliability analysis indicated 0.795, falling within the good category. These findings support the use of Quizizz interactive media as a learning tool for reproductive system material. Future studies should focus on different biological materials.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the efficacy of the student worksheet based on discovery learning and a scientific approach to the material structure and function of plants. The employed research method is Borg and Gall development research, which consists of five stages: research and information gathering, planning, product development, product testing, and product revision. The instruments for research were LKPD validation sheets and multiple-choice tests. CVR and CVI values of 1.00 indicated that discovery-based learning worksheets with a scientific approach were valid and suitable for use as instructional materials. Based on the results of the effect size test calculation, a student worksheet based on discovery learning and a scientific approach developed has an effectiveness value of 3.60 in the strong category. This demonstrates the use of discovery-based learning worksheets with a scientific approach contributing 99.98% of the learning outcomes of 34 students in class VIII E at SMPN 14 Pontianak regarding the structure and function of plants

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve the learning process that has been carried out by teachers in delivering learning material which still uses conventional learning models which results in a bored learning atmosphere and students are not motivated in learning which ultimately causes low student learning outcomes, especially in biology lessons. The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility of a team games tournament model learning tool assisted by question card media on reproductive system material in high school. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) or research and development with 5 stages, namely stages; potential and problems, gathering information, product design, design validation, and design revision. The products produced in this research are learning tools in the form of RPP, LKPD, and Powerpoint media as well as Question card media. The research results show that the validated learning tools are declared valid, this is because the average statement has a value above the validity standard set by researchers in accordance with Aiken's V calculation rules, namely that each item V ≥ 0.87. For RPP the average statement value is 0.93, for LKPD the average statement value is 0.92, for PPT the average statement value is 0.93. And for media Question cards, the average statement value is 0.95. From the results obtained, it can be stated that the learning tools developed are feasible and can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aimed to enhance the science process skills of the students through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching model in biology learning. This type of research was a classroom action research conducted in two learning cycles. Each learning cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this research were 21 students from Class X.G at SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak for the academic year 2022/2023. The research data were obtained through testing techniques using instruments such as pre-test and post-test questions that reflected six aspects of science process skills: observing, interpreting observations, classifying, predicting, communicating, and formulating hypotheses. The data analysis results showed that there was an improvement in the students' science process skills for each measured aspect in both cycle I and cycle II. The average science process skill score for students in cycle I was 62.7, and in cycle II, it was 80.2. Therefore, the research results can be concluded that teaching using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching model can improve students' science process skills in biology learning.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are known as places of religious learning where most of them are technologically literate. Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia should follow technological developments and implement them in learning, especially in learning Arabic. Apparently not with PP MTI Bayur in West Sumatra which uses the gamesto wordwall website to evaluate Arabic language learning. The aim of this research is to describe the use of the gamesto wall-wall in evaluating Arabic language learning at the Trabiyah Islamiah Bayur Islamic Boarding School, West Sumatra. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. Researchers used research tools in the form of interviews with Arabic teachers and learning documents, then analyzed using the Miles Huberman technique. The research results show that the use of Wordwall Interactive Games increases student interest and involvement in the learning process. Students feel more interested and motivated to learn Arabic through this interactive media. Teachers also feel helped by this application because it makes it easier to prepare questions and analyze evaluation results. However, some technical challenges such as internet connection and device availability still need to be overcome. In conclusion, Wordwall Interactive Games is an effective and innovative evaluation media to improve the quality of Arabic language learning at MTI Bayur, with full support from the school and parents.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to find out the students’ achievement and retention of ecosystem learning material at class X MIA SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. Pre-experimental design with one shot case study planning was chosen as the form of this research. Class X MIA 5 was taken as the sample in this research by deploying purposive sampling technique in determining the sample. The instrument administered in this research was multiple choice test consisted of 20 questions. On average, students’ learning result was 18, 16 by using scientific approach and the retention result was 17, 38. From normalized gain test using scientific approach, students’ learning result in ecosystem learning material was 0, 80 considered as high. Furthermore, students’ retention score in ecosystem learning material by using scientific approach was 95, 70% which categorized as high. Therefore, it can be concluded that teaching by using scientific approach gives positive impact on students’ learning achievement and retention at ecosystem learning material at class X MIA 5 SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to determine the validity of Problem Based Learning-based Student Worksheets on virus material and the students’ responses to it. The method used in this study was Research and Development with procedures referring to the research and development of Borg and Gall where in the process of implementation has been modified into 7 step namely research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, preliminary product revesion, main field testing, and operasional product revision. This research had been done in three schools, namely SMAN 1 Sungai Raya, Kemala Bhayangkari High School and MA Darul Ulum with research subjects as many as 9 students in the initial field trial and 36 students in the field trial. The instruments used consisted of LKS validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The value of Problem Based Learning-based Student Worksheets validity on virus material of 0.94 which is considered to be very high. Preliminary field testing values of 83,17% with a very strong category. Main field testing values of 84.59%. overall the Problem Based Learning-based Student Worksheets is eligible to use as a teaching media on virus material dan got a strong category response. Keywords: Development Research, Student Worksheets (LKS), Problem Based Learning, Student Response, Viruses

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to know the influence of Adobe Flash-based animation media towards study result at the topic of fungi for students grade X MIA SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya. The research used quasy experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The population was  whole of  X MIA. The samples were taken by saturation sampling technique and decided X MIA 1 as experimental class and X MIA 2 as control class. The instrument was multiple choices consisted of 20 items. The average of  study result of experimental class was 15,10 and the control class was 13,50.  tcount>ttable (4,50>2,00) shows that there is a difference of study result between the students that taught by Adobe Flash-based animation media and taught by Power Point. ES shows that Adobe Flash-based animation media has high influence towards the study result at the topic of fungi and contribute 40,82%. Keywords:    Influence, Adobe Flash-Based Animation Media, Study Result and    Fungi

Abstract

Abstract The aimed of this research were to know the appropriateness and to know students response of encyclopedia equipments and materials on biology laboratory as learning source to tenth grade students of SMAN 08 Pontianak. The methodology of this research was research development especially following Borg and Gall Model. The stages of this research are research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product, preliminary fieled testing, main product revision, main field testing, and operasional product revision. This research was held on SMAN 8 Pontianak. The sample of this research was 12 students for preliminary fieled testing and 35 students for main field testing. The tools of data collection in this research were encyclopedia validation sheet and students questionaire. The research findings showed that content validity index score of encyclopedia equipments and materials of biology laboratory was 0.99 and it is categorized as valid. It showed that encyclopedia is fit for use as learning source on sub work safety material to tenth grade students. While, the research result of students response on preliminary and main test were 85.36% and 85.81%. these are categorized as very strong. As the result, it could be concluded that encyclopedia equipments and materials is fit for use as learning source on sub work safety material with strong response from students. Keywords: Encyclopedia, Learning Source, Students Response, Sub Work Safety Material

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to know the influence of lesson model Discovery Learning by using Biocard on the lesson Classification of Living Organism for grade VII in SMPN 23 Pontianak. The research method was Quasi Experimental Design with research design Noneequivalent Control Group Design. Technique of data collecting used was intact group. Grade VII F as the experiment class and grade VII G as control class. The instrument was 25 numbers of multiple choice test. Based on the data analysis, it has been gained the average of students study result which have been taught by using Discovery Learning using Biocard was 20.13, meanwhile the students which have been taught by using conventional learning was 17.61. From the t test, it has been gained t-value > t-table was 2.979 > 1.672, which mean there were differences between students study result that have been taught by using Discovery Learning using Biocard and student that have been taught by using conventional learning. The effect size number that has been gained was 0.7 and influence Discovery Learning using Biocard on the lesson Classification of Living Organism result was 25.80%Keyword: Classification of Living Organism, Discovery Learning
