Abstract

This research aims to identify the representation of Chinese culture in the animated film Wish Dragon using John Fiske’s semiotic approach. The film presents Chinese culture through various cultural symbols, such as character portrayals, settings, traditional clothing, belief systems, and celebrations, all visually depicted. Behind these symbols lies the cultural meaning of Chinese traditions. The analysis was conducted using a qualitative method through John Fiske’s semiotic approach, which consists of three levels of coding: reality, representation, and ideology. Data collection techniques included observation of scenes in the film and source triangulation. The findings show that Wish Dragon represents Chinese culture through symbolic elements that reflect the values, traditions, and cultural identity of Chinese society. The film not only uses culture as a backdrop but also conveys it meaningfully to the audience.

Abstract

This study examines the construction of nationalist visual messages in the “Garuda” choreography (koreo) performed by the Ultras group “La Grande Indonesia” during the 2025 Indonesia vs. Bahrain national football match at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological method was employed to explore the subjective experiences of supporters regarding the visual messages presented. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis used triangulation of sources, methods, and theories to ensure the validity of findings. The results show that nationalist visual messages in the Garuda choreography are constructed through a combination of visual elements such as the Garuda symbol, the red-and-white national colors, slogan typography, and background visuals representing pride and unity. Supporters interpret this choreography as an expression of patriotism, a boost for the team’s spirit, and a collective identity that distinguishes them from other nations’ supporters. The choreography also creates cognitive consonance, where national symbols align with the beliefs and emotions of supporters, thereby reinforcing unity and nationalism. This study concludes that supporter choreography is not merely an aesthetic performance but an effective visual communication medium for instilling national values in public spaces. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of visual communication studies and creative practices in building a nationalist atmosphere through sports.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the increasing use of TikTok as a source of information among Gen Z students, especially Communication Science students. In today's digital era, information consumption patterns have changed significantly; the younger generation tends to choose fast, concise, and interactive platforms such as TikTok. Through the Uses and Gratification theory, this study explains that students are not only passive recipients, but actively select, sort, and interpret content that suits their needs, both for entertainment and educational purposes. With a descriptive qualitative approach and in-depth interview and observation methods, researchers found that TikTok is used as an alternative media in finding light but meaningful information, especially related to social issues, academics, and public communication trends. Communication Science students show a selective attitude and are quite critical in assessing the accuracy and relevance of the content consumed. The results of this study indicate that TikTok is not only an entertainment media, but also a digital learning space that can encourage media literacy if utilized wisely. The contribution of this research is to provide a real picture of the dynamics of Gen Z information consumption, as well as a reference for educational institutions and policy makers to better understand the mindset of the younger generation in the era of fast-paced digital information.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi perusahaan dalam manajemen keuangan berbasis teknologi yang diterapkan oleh PT Katalis Sinergi Indonesia kepada karyawan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus di PT Katalis Sinergi Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan manajer komunikasi, tim keuangan, dan beberapa karyawan yang terlibat langsung dalam proses komunikasi keuangan berbasis teknologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi dalam manajemen keuangan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan transparansi, namun keberhasilan implementasinya sangat bergantung pada strategi komunikasi yang tepat. PT Katalis Sinergi Indonesia telah menerapkan beberapa strategi komunikasi, seperti pelatihan rutin, pemanfaatan platform digital internal, serta penyediaan informasi yang jelas dan mudah dipahami terkait kebijakan keuangan perusahaan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar perusahaan terus meningkatkan strategi komunikasinya dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang ada, serta memperhatikan aspek keterlibatan dan pemahaman karyawan dalam setiap langkah manajerial berbasis teknologi.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of digital marketing strategy, brand trust, and customer expectations on online purchase decisions in the e-commerce sector in West Java, Indonesia. Through quantitative analysis involving 145 respondents, data was collected using a structured questionnaire to measure the specified constructs. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) was used to analyse the relationships between variables. Drawing upon theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence, hypotheses are formulated to investigate the relationships between digital marketing strategy, brand trust, customer expectations, and online purchasing decisions. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of consumer behaviour in digital marketplaces and offer actionable insights for businesses aiming to optimise their marketing strategies and increase consumer engagement in the e-commerce sector in West Java.

Abstract

Di Indonesia, fenomena Barbershop mencerminkan perubahan budaya perawatan diri yang semakin populer di kalangan pria. Beragamnya tuntuan gaya hidup membuat pria semakin memperhatikan penampilan mereka, terutama terkait dengan gaya rambut dan kenyamanan yang ingin didapatkan saat melakukan perawatan rambut. Hal ini menjadi peralihan bagi industri pangkas rambut, dimana sekarang bukan hanya sekedar kenyamanan atau kebersihan rambut, melainkan sudah menjadi bagian esensial dari gaya hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi komunikasi pemasaran Captain Barbershop dalam meningkatkan brand awareness melalui media sosial Instagram. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian case study reasearch (studi kasussehingga dapat menganalisa secara mendalam dan secara menyeluruh mengenai bagaimana strategi komunikasi pemasaran Captain Barbershop dalam meningkatkan brand awareness melalui sosial media Instagram. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Dan menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview). Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa dari berbagai indikator yang terdapat dalam content marketing dan awareness, Captain Barbershop berhasil melakukan keseluruhannya dengan baik. Tim dari Captain barbershop berhasil merencanakan, menganalisa audiens, membuat ide, menyusun konsep, produksi konten, mendistribusi konten, membuat evaluasi terhadap konten, dan mengembangkan konten untuk jadi lebih baik setiap harinya. Seluruh tahapan dalam content marketing telah dilakukan oleh tim Captain Barbershop dan berimbas kepada pengenalan yang terjadi di Instagram terhadap Captain Babershop.

Abstract

The music industry in Indonesia continues to grow. This can be seen from the increasing variety of music that is present in Indonesia. One of these types of music is J-Pop. J-Pop is a type of pop music originating from Japan. JKT48 is one of the J-Pop music groups that carries the concept of idols and has its main base in Jakarta. JKT48 is a sister group or branch group of the Japanese idol group, AKB48. The idol concept owned by JKT48 is the concept of fostered idols. The concept of fostered idols focuses on showing the struggles, processes, and efforts made by members of the fostered idol group in order to become a perfect idol. One form of content created by fans is Kamaniya's Diary. Kamaniya's Diary created a special account on social media X with the username @kamaniya_diary which is dedicated to capturing the moments of a JKT48 member named Greesella Sophina Adhalia. This study aims to determine the fanaticism of the @kamaniya_diary fansite in creating brand attachment between fans and idols through social media content. The method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach. Research data were obtained through informant interviews and observations as primary data and documentation from informants, articles, previous research, and relevant content as secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the fanaticism of the Kamaniya's Diary fansite is positive fanaticism.

Abstract

Along with technological advances, digital transformation has become a major phenomenon in various sectors, including in the business world and human resource management (HRM). HRM is undergoing a major revolution in addressing digital transformation. This research aims to examine the impact of digital transformation on talent recruitment strategies in modern human resource management. The method includes a thorough examination of literature using qualitative analysis, with the aim of gaining a comprehensive comprehension of the topic spanning from 2017 to 2023. The study results show that digital transformation has significantly changed the paradigm of talent recruitment in human resource management (HRM). From the use of digital platforms to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics, companies must constantly adapt to stay competitive and attract the best talent. More efficient recruitment processes, empowerment of job seekers, and the possibility of work flexibility are positive outcomes of this transformation. However, ethical challenges such as bias in algorithms and the protection of personal data also need serious attention.

Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan pendidikan saat ini dipengaruhi oleh pesatnya kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Salah satu teknologi informasi yang ikut berperan dalam dunia pendidikan adalah pembelajaran Daring. Pembelajaran daring berfungsi sebagai penghubung antar pendidik dengan siswanya dengan jaringan internet yang dapat diakses kapan saja dan dimana saja. Media daring yang digunakan subjek penelitian adalah bermacam- macam (WhatsApp, Google Classroom, Zoom, Website). Dampak dari pandemi covid– 19 juga berimbas kepada pola dan cara pembelajaran dan perkuliahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran efektivitas pembelajaran daring menggunakan media online selama pandemi covid-19 pada mata kuliah Dasar- Dasar Publik Relation di Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektifitas komunikasi dalam pembelajaran daring. Metode yang dikumpulkan dalam pengumpulan data adalah tanya jawab kepada narasumber yaitu mahasiswa dan mahasiswi melalui WhatsApp. Hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kemajuan teknologi memberikan dampak besar terhadap perkembangan pendidikan, para pendidik memanfaatkanya untuk mempermudah proses belajar mengajar serta meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Akhirnya, untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran daring selama pandemi covid-19, maka pendidik disarankan bisa memenuhi tujuh saran dari responden, yakni: (1) pembelajaran dilakukan melalui video call; (2) pemberian materi pembelajaran yang ringkas; (3) meminimalisir mengirim materi dalam bentuk video berat untuk menghemat kuota; (4) pemilihan materi dalam video harus berdasarkan kriteria bahasa yang mudah dipahami; (5) tetap memberikan materi sebelum penugasan; (6) memberikan tugas sesuai dengan jadwal pelajaran; dan (7) mengurangi tugas. Kata kunci: Daring, Komunikasi, Efektifitas
