Abstract

Self-identity theory in social psychology highlights the importance of social groups, interactions, and context in shaping an individual's sense of self and how this self-identity influences thoughts, feelings, and behavior. This research seeks to review various literature on adventure tourism by providing a specific exploration of the role of self-identity in triggering participation in forms of adventure tourism using a mixed-method research design, 50 visitors were identified as informants for the qualitative research, and 329 respondents were surveyed as visitors to surfing tourist destinations at Menganti, Widarapayung, and Parangtritis beaches. All hypotheses proposed in this research were accepted. This shows that comparisons between regions show little difference among young consumers. The model presented and tested in this research provides a solid theoretical framework and can help understand self-identity as a driver of consumer participation. Managerial implications can provide understanding for surf destination managers so that they reflect the importance of creating a positive attitude towards the product before traveling.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to compare the depth of outreach, financial performance, and trade-off between the depth of outreach and financial performance (mission drift) between equity financing and debt-based financing in Indonesian Islamic Rural Banks.Methodology – We compare the depth of outreach and financial performance using descriptive statistics and explore mission drift comparisons using OLS time series. Findings – The depth of the outreach comparison shows that debt-based financing performs better. However, equity financing outperforms financial performance. The regression results show mission drift in Musharaka and Multiservice financing, indicating that both sides have mission drift. However, there is no mission drift in Murabaha financing, which constitutes the majority of financing in Indonesian Islamic Rural Banks. Murabaha financing synchronously demonstrates excellent depth of outreach and financial performance.Implications – Islamic Rural Banks in Indonesia need product innovation in equity financing to obtain a better depth of outreach and avoid mission drift. The simplicity of the practice in Murabaha can be a reference for product innovation in Islamic Rural Banks, while the government can support Indonesian Islamic Rural Banks' product innovation by providing appropriate regulations.Originality – This study seeks to fill the comparison gap between mission drifts in Indonesian Islamic rural bank financing. There is a limitation in studies of Islamic rural bank financing mission drifts in Indonesia since the comparison of mission drift deals only with Islamic microfinance at a global level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic Corporate Social Responsibility (ICSR) and Zakat on the Reputation and Profitability of Islamic Banks in Indonesia. The ICSR index is measured based on the disclosure of 6 themes, with a value of 1 for each disclosed component and 0 if not. Profitability is proxied using Return on Equity (ROE). This study uses secondary data in the form of annual reports of Islamic Banks in Indonesia for the period 2019-2024 obtained from the official websites of each bank. The sample selection method is purposive sampling, and data analysis is carried out using multiple regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that ICSR disclosure does not have a significant effect on Reputation or Profitability. On the contrary, Zakat has a significant effect on Reputation and Profitability partially. Simultaneously, ICSR and Zakat have a significant effect on Reputation and Profitability of Islamic Banks in Indonesia.

Abstract

Increasing population growth has resulted in increased vehicle ownership and the need for parking facilities, including in basements. This study aimed to explore the efficacy of palm shell activated carbon panels in reducing CO, NO2, HC, Pb, and noise. The experiment was conducted in a 4 m x 3 m x 2.1 m room using three treatments: without installed activated carbon panels; with 1 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm activated carbon panels; and with 2 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm activated carbon panels. During the measurement, three motorcycles were turned on and kept in idle mode. The concentrations of CO, NO2, HC, ambient Pb, and noise were measured. The results showed that the activated carbon panels were able to reduce CO, NO2, Pb, HC, and noise. The highest performance was obtained for 2-cm thickness of activated carbon panels, with CO, NO2, HC, Pb, and noise decreasing to 824 µg/m3, 8.4 µg/m3, 4.4 µg/m3, 0.2 µg/m3, and 87.44 dB, respectively. Following the adsorption process, the carbon content and pore size of the activated carbon panels had changed from 68.32% to 90.95% and 0.17-3.652 µm to 0.34-5.56 µm respectively for testing with 2-cm thickness panels.
