Abstract

The coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) has attracted worldwide attention since December 2019 and was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11. Covid-19 is believed to have originated in Wuhan, China, and has spread to more than 200 countries, every day the number of Covid-19 cases in the world continues to increase. One of the efforts to overcome Covid-19 is wearing a mask. This study aims to manufacture hydrophobic masks from cotton cloth that have antivirus properties from chitosan-SiO2 composite materials. This type of research is a laboratory experiment, Chitosan-SiO2 is used in the size of nanoparticles using a High Energy Milling (HEM) tool. Next, analyze the SiO2 content using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Infra Red Spectrophotometer (FTIR) to calculate the degree of deacetylation of chitosan. To analyze the crystal structure and crystal size using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and to determine the morphological structure of the Chitosan-SiO2 composite layer. The results of this study are hydrophobic masks derived from cotton cloth are anti-virus. The contact angles resulting from the variation of immersion are 122.4o, 130.914o, 134.563o, and 136.138o, while the contact angle without coating is 90o. The surface temperature produced from the Chitosan-SiO2 composite layer based on the temperature image pattern is 37.4oC, 39.9oC, 40.2o C, and 41.6oC. After washing the cotton fabric layer sample, contact angle melting occurs. The best variation of immersion against contact angles and antivirus tests characterized by surface temperature imagery patterns is 4 times dyeing with a contact angle of 136.138o reaching ultrahydrophobic angles and surface temperatures of 41.6oC.

Abstract

The independent curriculum emphasizes literacy skills as the most important learning objectives. The two literacies that are greatly needed in the 21st century are science literacy and environmental literacy. However, these two literacies among high school students in Indonesia are still relatively low. The subject that is able to achieve both literacies in an integrated manner is physics. The purpose of this development research is to produce a physics knowledge enrichment book "lightning" to improve science literacy and environmental literacy of high school students that is valid and practical. This type of research is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The subjects of the study were physics teachers and grade XI high school students. Data were collected through questionnaires. Data analysis techniques include calculating the average score and Aiken validity index. The results of the study showed that: 1) The enrichment book was stated in the valid category in terms of material, language, presentation, and graphics; 2) The enrichment book by teachers and students was stated in the practical category in terms of ease of use, learning effectiveness, and benefits. Therefore, the physics knowledge enrichment book "lightning" that was developed is valid and practical as a solution to improve science literacy and environmental literacy of high school students.

Abstract

The advancement of technology in education was evident in the development of digital-based learning media. It was expected to serve as a stimulus in transforming knowledge for students, particularly in abstract subjects such as crystal structures. Understanding crystal structures was crucial for studying the physical properties of materials, making it important for students to enhance their comprehension. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of using Vesta software as a learning media to enhance students' understanding of crystal structures by employing standardized assessment instruments. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach focused on collecting numerical data and statistical analysis through an experimental method involving two groups of students taking a solid-state physics course. The research design involved a control and an experimental group. Both groups were given the same subject but using different learning media. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test that had been rigorously validated through validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discrimination index. Effectiveness was evaluated using independent sample t-test analysis with the aid of SPSS software. Instrument testing data revealed that out of 40 developed questions, 20 met the standards to be used as instruments. The results indicated a highly significant enhancement in students' understanding of crystal structures after using the Vesta software as a learning media, as represented by a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000. The findings indicate that Vesta can be integrated into science teaching. Further research can test the effectiveness of implementing Vesta in distance learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi komposisi nanokomposit SiO₂Mn yang diperkuat dengan Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) terhadap struktur kristal. Karakterisasi dilakukan menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) untuk menentukan fasa, struktur, dan ukuran kristal dari nanokomposit tersebut. Variasi komposisi Si:Mn yang digunakan meliputi 0,3:0,7gr; 0,4:0,6gr; 0,5:0,5gr; 0,6:0,4gr; dan 0,7:0,3gr. Hasil XRD menunjukkan bahwa fasa dominan yang terbentuk adalah MnSiO₂ dengan sistem kristal hexagonal. Ukuran kristal dihitung menggunakan persamaan Scherrer, dengan hasil ukuran kristal berkisar pada skala nanometer. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru mengenai pengaruh variasi komposisi terhadap sifat material, terutama dalam pengembangan lapisan pelindung anti-korosi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh variasi temperatur terhadap struktur kristal nanokomposit SiO2MnO2/PDMS. Nanokomposit ini disintesis pada berbagai suhu, yaitu 80°C, 110°C, 120°C, 130°C, dan 140°C. Ukuran kristal yang dihasilkan diukur menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Penelitian ini diawali dengan milling Silika dan Mangan kemudia dilanjutkan dengan mensinteis Silika, Mangan dan Polidimetilsiloksan dalam bentuk lapisan tipis. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) untuk menganalisis komposisi fasa atau senyawa dalam material serta untuk karakterisasi kristalnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh dari variasi temperatur dimana suhu 120°C dengan ukuran butir kristal 58,28 nm pada nanokomposit SiO2MnO2/PDMS menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan suhu lainnya karena ukuran ini tidak hanya memberikan peningkatan ketahanan korosi yang optimal tetapi juga menjaga stabilitas struktural nanokomposit SiO2MnO2/PDMS.

Abstract

Korosi merupakan permasalahan utama dalam industri yang menyebabkan degradasi material logam, mengurangi usia pakai konstruksi, serta menimbulkan kerugian ekonomi dan keselamatan. Salah satu metode efektif untuk mencegah korosi adalah pelapisan (coating) berbasis polimer yang dapat memberikan sifat penghalang terhadap lingkungan eksternal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh waktu perendaman lapisan nanokomposit SiO₂Mn/PDMS yang diperkuat dengan asam palmitat terhadap struktur kristal. Pengukuran struktur kristal dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan karakterisasi XRD (X-Ray Diffraction). Dan pola difraksi dapat di analisis menggunakan Software High Score Plus. Utuk menentukan ukuran kristal menggunakan persamaan Scherrer dari data XRD. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian waktu perendaman dapat berpengaruh terhadap ukuran kristal dalam lapisan nanokomposit SiO₂Mn/PDMS yang mana terjadi penurunan ukuran kristal pada waktu 3 menit sebesar 65,61 nm disebabkan oleh peningkatan interaksi antara partikel SiO₂Mn dengan matriks PDMS, yang menghambat pertumbuhan kristal lebih lanjut.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika di SMAN 1 Payakumbuh masih cenderung terpusat ke guru serta bersifat satu arah, yang berdampak di rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian tujuannya untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model Inquiry based Learning (IBL) berbantuan LKPD terhadap hasil belajar siswa di pembelajaran fisika. Jenis penelitian yang dipakai ialah quasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest only control group. Populasi ialah siswa kelas XI Mipa. Sampel diambil memakai teknik purposive sampling, serta data diambil lewat tes hasil belajar seperti soal pilihan ganda. Data dianalisis dengan uji normalitas, homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai thitung = 2,602 > ttabel = 1,667, maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil itu, bisa disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model Inquiry based Learning (IBL) berbantuan LKPD terhadap hasil belajar siswa selas XI SMAN 1 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

Synthetic plastics that are currently widely used pose a threat to the environment as they are non-biodegradable and derived from non-renewable petrochemical sources. The use of plastics has generated hundreds of millions of tons of waste per year globally while the average usage time is less than 25 minutes. Making biodegradable plastics with materials such as starch, gluten, and guar gum is one way to overcome the problems of using synthetic plastics. One of the materials that can be used as biodegradable is durian seed starch. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) concentration on the physical characteristics of durian seed-based biodegradable plastics. This research is experimental, with the concentration of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) added as an independent variable and the mass of starch, sorbitol plasticizer, distilled water, and sample thickness of 0.24 mm as control variables. The tests carried out include tensile strength and elongation tests as well as water resistance tests and biodegradation tests. This research was conducted by varying CMC, namely 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, and 35% (w/w starch) using 5 grams of durian seed starch as the mixing material and 3 ml of sorbitol plasticizer as the plasticizer concentration. This study showed that the addition of starch with CMC concentration up to 35% w/w had an impact on the tensile strength and elongation values of the plastic. The weight loss percentage of the biodegradable polymer increased when CMC concentration was added, and the water resistance level decreased when CMC concentration was added in amounts up to 35% w/w starch.

Abstract

SMAN 7 Padang telah memiliki berbagai bahan ajar, termasuk bahan ajar digital yang dikembangkan oleh guru untuk proses pembelajaran. Namun, belum ada bahan ajar digital yang berbasis model PBL. Terdapat peluang untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dengan bahan ajar berbasis teknologi yang menarik, guna meningkatkan minat, motivasi, dan gaya belajar siswa dalam Fisika. Flip PDF Profesional merupakan software untuk mengonversi materi dalam format file PDF menjadi bentuk buku elektronik (e-book) yang dapat ditambahkan gambar/ilustrasi, animasi, dan video yang menarik. Dalam penelitian yang akan dikembangkan oleh peneliti yaitu pengembangan Bahan Ajar Digital Suhu dan Kalor Berbasis Model PBL berbantuan Flip Pdf Profesional Untuk Siswa Fase-F Pada E-learning SMAN 7 Padang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau yang disebut istilah Research Development (R&D), menggunakan skala Aiken dalam mengolah data. Kesimpulan penelitian yaitu Bahan Ajar Digital Suhu dan kalor berbasis model PBL berbantuan flip pdf professional  untuk siswa fase F telah diperoleh produk yang valid dan layak digunakan setelah melakukan evaluasi oleh ahli dengan rata-rata nilai validitas sebesar 0,85. Hasil pengujian praktikalitas dari produk bahan ajar digital suhu dan kalor berbasis model model PBL berbantuan flip pdf professional untuk siswa fase F telah didapatkan produk yang praktis dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran Fisika. Hal ini dibuktikkan dari penilaian praktikalitas yang diberikan kepada guru dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 98,9% kategori sangat praktis, kemudian disebarkan kepada satu kelas di kelas XI dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 88,7% berada dalam kategori sangat praktis.

Abstract

Patients with fractures continue to increase from year to year. So that the need for biomaterials is very high and has had a considerable impact, especially in the field of orthopedic medicine. Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is one of the suitable biomaterials for bone implants. Hydroxyapatite (HAp) with the chemical formula C10(PO4)6O2H2 is a calcium phosphate that contains hydroxide, which is classified as a mineral in the apatite group. HAp can be obtained from natural waste such as the eggshells of a chicken. This is because chicken eggshells have a very high CaO content (98,43%) which serves as a precursor in the synthesis of HAp. The purpose of this research the aim of observing the effect of stirring time on the purity of the HAp produced and to see the optimum stirring time used to produce good HAp. In this study, HAp was synthesized using a precipitation method by varying the stirring time. Based on variations in stirring time of 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, and 5 hours, the purity of HAp obtained was 15%, 49%, 66%, 82%, and 50%, respectively. Therefore, it was concluded that the optimal stirring time to produce HAp with the highest purity is at a time interval of 4 hours.
